The more real news that trickles in the less I believe the official account of what happened in Kenya. The eve of the Israeli elections, two surface to air missles fired at a commercial aircraft. Both missiles miss and the passangers on the flight report hearing a loud crashing sound, was it an unarmed missle hitting the hull? Now I don't know much about SA7 missiles but I do know they are heatseekers and as such once armed, targeted and fired are very hard to avoid especially if one happens to be flying a commercial airliner! You want me to believe that a group sophisticated enough to plan and execute this operation is so stupid that both of their SAMs miss the target?????? Sorry, that doesn't sit right at all... One only has to look at the history of it to see how adept Israeli intelligence is at false flag operations to realise that this bombing is not all that it seems. Am I the only one who thinks it strange that no-one has ever heard of the group that carried it out "Army of Palestine" isn't exactly a common sort of name for an Islamic terrorist group. Also note that the group claims to be Lebanese based and the tensions between Lebanon and Israel have been growing steadily of late. Could this attack form an excuse for Israel to take military action against Lebanon?
So now Israel has the excuse to get involved in the "war on terror" even though the Americans didn't want that to happen, Sharon promises retaliation and with that psycho in charge of Israel who knows what will happen next. The bellicose Israeli politicians have yet more of an excuse to bang on about the fact that all Arabs are terrorists and that all they want to do is destroy the state of Israel. The Kenyans are wondering "why us?" as well they should. Call me suspicious, call me a conspiracy nut but I refuse to merely accept official stories unquestioningly and this one smells like a government op in the same way that Bali did! Why didn't the Australian and British governments pass on the warnings they received to the Kenyan authorities?

Investigators hunt Kenya attackers
Investigators are sifting through the rubble of a hotel in the Kenyan resort of Mombasa, searching for clues about who was behind two attacks against Israeli targets which killed at least 15 people.
US and Israeli security officers have joined Kenyan police in the hunt for the masterminds of Thursday's suicide bombing at the Paradise Hotel and the attempted missile attack on an Israeli charter flight.
Three foreign suspects detained on Thursday are still being questioned. A missile launcher and two missile casings have been found.

When Mark Crispin Miller first set out to write Dyslexicon: Observations on a National Disorder, about the ever-growing catalogue of President George W. Bush's verbal gaffes, he meant it for a laugh. But what he came to realize wasn't entirely amusing.
Since the 2000 presidential campaign, Miller has been compiling his own collection of Bush-isms, which have revealed, he says, a disquieting truth about what lurks behind the cock-eyed leer of the leader of the free world. He's not a moron at all — on that point, Miller and Prime Minister Jean Chrétien agree.
But according to Miller, he's no friend.
"I did initially intend it to be a funny book. But that was before I had a chance to read through all the transcripts," Miller, an American author and a professor of culture and communication at New York University, said recently in Toronto.

I originally posted this yesterday but because the story has been all but ignored by the mainstream media I'm going to keep it current. This whole thing STINKS, I don't believe it was just an accident and until I see some conclusive proof that the car hadn't been tampered with I will continue to believe that there is something else going on here.
It seems that Frances Shand Kydd (Diana's mother) was involved in a near-fatal car accident.... Dodgy dodgy DODGY! Given reports that road traffic "accidents" are a preferred method of assasination for the Security Services, this seems fishy as hell. Only a few weeks after the Burrell trial, amid reports that Ms. Shand Kydd went through Diana's stuff post-mortem and removed documents and who knows what else! There are still only a few details about the crash but the report below says the car "appears to have lost control" and nearly ploughed into a river on a dangerous stretch of road. Ms. Shand Kydd was completely unhurt but she wouldn't have been if the car crashed into the river, if that had happened she would have been dead...
Interesting how Camilla Parker-Bowles was involved in a very simillar "accident" a few years ago, at the time Camilla went running off clearly terrified having previously recieved warnings that her life was in danger. After that incident her security was stepped up on Charles' personal order, rumour has it that a branch of MI5 decided that taking out Camilla would solve the "consititutional crisis" they found themselves in after the Royal Divorce. In their book "Diana: The Hidden Evidence" Jon King and John Beveridge explain in detail how a nuclear activist died in a car crash when the car of a retired army person "lost control" and carreered across a motorway slamming into the activists car. The authors also assert that the security services have a device that can be installed into a vehicle which will allow a third-party to take complete or partial control away from the driver. They say that this is one of the reasons that after Diana's crash the Mercedes engineers weren't allowed anywhere near the car, even though they offered their assistance. I'm VERY interested to hear what becomes of Ms. Shand Kydd's car and the investigation into this incident, the report I read mentioned that she had previously been involved in a "drink-drive" incident so maybe they'll just blame her...
During the recent trial of Paul Burrell and all of the weirdness surrounding that, I got the clear impression that there is some serious shit going on behind the scenes, almost like a power struggle between different factions of the British Establishment. Smear and counter smear, embarrasing revelations and more dirt being thrown around than is seemly for people from the "up-their-arses", sorry "upper-classes". Both sides want to be able to use Diana's name and memory and all the publicity that comes with it to generate popular support. There are also lots of Diana's documents floating around that could almost certainly do untold damage to the current Establishment.
All of this is obviously just speculative codshit on the part of my own instinctively suspicious brain -- rather than based on me having any hard evidence. Maybe it was an accident, maybe it was an attempt on her life or maybe it was just a warning. Either way I don't trust "officials" or "the establishment" and I sure as hell don't believe that what the "mainstream media" says either, I smell a giant RAT here people!

Princess Diana's mother in road crash
Frances Shand Kydd, the mother of the late Diana Princess of Wales, has been involved in a car crash.
Strathclyde police say a 66-year-old woman was driving an Audi car when it hit a bridge parapet.
The driver, who has not been named by police, was not injured in the accident which occurred on the B844 at Kilninver, near Oban.
It is understood that Mrs Shand Kydd was the sole occupant of the car.
A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that police attended a road crash at a single track road on the B844 at Kilninver, near Oban.
"The crash occurred when an Audi motor car being driven by a 66-year-old woman appears to have lost control and collided with a bridge parapet.
The description given is very close to what researchers describe as the secret hypersonic reconnaisance aircraft "Aurora" that is widely rumoured to exist, but routinely denied by U.S. officials. The fact that this high-ranking US officer doesn't know about it doesn't say anything to me because these projects are always blacker than the night.
US air force chief admits mystery lights buzzed his Suffolk airbase
A high-ranking US air force officer and his troops reported seeing a brightly shining UFO in an English forest, it was officially admitted yesterday.
The triangular craft was said to have a pulsing red light on the top and blue lights underneath. It was either hovering or on legs before slipping through the trees as the men closed in. The sighting, featured on TV programmes about unexplained UFOs, was finally revealed by the Government yesterday under the Freedom of Information Act.
The mysterious craft was spotted on December 27 1980 by American airmen at RAF Bentwaters, Woodbridge, Suffolk.
In a report called Unexplained Lights, deputy base commander Lt Col Charles Halt said he saw a "red sun-like light" moving through the trees in Rendlesham Forest.

But the cynicism of the decision and the gross insult to democracy and to the families of the victims that it represents has to be analyzed to be believed...
There is a tendency, some of it paranoid and disreputable, for the citizens of other countries and cultures to regard President Bush's "war on terror" as opportunist and even as contrived. I myself don't take any stock in such propaganda. But can Congress and the media be expected to swallow the appointment of a proven coverup artist, a discredited historian, a busted liar, and a man who is wanted in many jurisdictions for the vilest of offenses? The shame of this, and the open contempt for the families of our victims, ought to be the cause of a storm of protest.

Political Vermin Use Myths, Mayhem and Mind Control
On Sunday 28th April 1996, a team of well-trained professional terrorists launched an attack on Australia. The lead terrorist entered the Broad Arrow Café, pulled a sawn-off Mistaravim AR-15 out of a bulky sports bag and opened fire on the unarmed diners. In just under thirty seconds, 20 people were killed and another 12 seriously injured. Of the twenty dead, the first nineteen were killed by incredibly accurate single shots to the head, all fired from the right hip of the terrorist as he performed a faultless moving pirouette down the length of the café, covering his own back while picking off his moving targets.
During the initial Café phase of the attack, the terrorist used only 29 rounds to kill or injure a total of 31 people. Subsequent forensic analysis proved that two of his shots scored “double”, i.e. each bullet literally “exploded” the head of one victim, with the resulting bone and bullet fragments continuing on to injure a second victim standing directly behind the first. By firing only 29 counted rounds, the shooter ensured he still had a live round in the breech of the weapon to protect him during the two seconds he needed to fit a fresh 30-round magazine. This terrorist was a consummate professional who could never be taken by surprise.
By early the next day the Australian Government had all of these gruesome details, and knew very well that the overall carnage at Port Arthur and Seascape Cottage could only have been caused by a thoroughly professional team of imported terrorists. But despite this knowledge and absolute certainty at the highest of political levels, the mass murder was promptly blamed on a left-handed intellectually impaired young man by the name of Martin Bryant, whose shooting skills were limited to a single-shot Webley air rifle.
By noon on 29th April 1996 at the latest, the Government knew that Australia had suffered a horrific terrorist attack, and [should have had] no reason to assume the terrorists would stop there. Clearly, as was the case in Great Britain during 1940 when the Local Volunteer Force was formed and armed with 520,000 weapons to help combat feared fifth columnists in the United Kingdom, it was time to arm Australian civilians for defense.
Inexplicably, this did not happen. Instead, on 10th May 1996, the Prime Minister directly and illegally interfered with State Police Ministers, and ordered the disarmament of Australian civilians across the nation. In all, approximately 660,000 serviceable firearms that could have been used to defend Australia against terrorist attacks then and in the future, were confiscated, crushed, and melted down. Though it cannot yet be proved conclusively, but based on the bizarre actions of politicians after Port Arthur, the primary motive of the terrorist operation [obviously] appears to have been the disarmament of Australia.

For the past six months I have been undergoing the greatest paradigm shift I have ever had to go through. It has rattled my nerves and shaken my bones. This intense adjustment of my "world"has come about by studying the information given by Col. Tom Bearden at his website Cheniere. The new knowledge there has necessitated a total revision of my ideas about physical reality, the world we live in, and the future of humanity.

I posted this yesterday, I've updated it a little and made a few corrections to the translation. What follows is my rough translation of an article which appears on the Dutch website DaanSpeak. Yet another "lone-gunman" political murder of someone likely to scupper at least some of the plans of the global elite, certainly as regards their activities in the Netherlands. It was made known today that Volkert van der Graaf has admitted that he was responsible for the murder of Pim Fortuyn. Teletekst News says: "Herben isn't conviced that van der Graaf acted alone. He has requested that the Justice department investigate the matter fully. Marijnissen, leader of the SP party is also intrigued as to whether van der Graaf acted alone." It's also possible that van der Graaf acted alone but that there were other people who knew and allowed it to happen. Even though no hard and fast conclusions can be drawn from this murder-case, DaanSpeak feels it's important to examine all the facts and possibilities surrounding this case.
Peter R. de Vries writes: "What raises lots of questions (and therefore doubts) is that the police knew very quickly who to arrest and happened to have a six-man strong team already wearing body armour ready to arrest the suspect within minutes of the murder. In fact they had arrested van der Graaf before the ambulances arrived to take the injured Fortuyn to hospital. This speed doesn't compliment the police but raises even more questions.
This article in the Gooi en Vechtstreek adds the following argument: "The police from the Gooi en Vechtstreek region were assisted by a half-platoon of police from the Zaanstreek-Waterland police precinct who were coincidentally passing the scene at the time of the murder. The group was driving past the Mediapark when they heard about the shooting over their police radio. According to their spokesman these passer-by policemen offered their immediate assistance." The actual arrest of van der Graaf was carried out by police from the local Gooi en Vechtstreek precinct.
The ambulance that was sent to assist Fortuyn arrived at the Mediapark only to find the gates locked due to a computer malfunction. The minutes extra that it took for the ambulance to enter via another entrance ensured that they would be too late to be of any assistance in saving Fortuyns life. Officials say it took between 12 and 15 minutes for the ambulance to reach the stricken Pim Fortuyn, however eyewitness, Reporter Peter De Vries says: "The story the police are giving about the ambulance isn't accurate. It took 20-30 minutes for the ambulance to arrive. I've asked other people that were there and they all say the same thing."
In order to leave no stone unturned it's interesting to bring the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) into the picture for a moment. In the Volkskrant newspaper of February 1 this year, Fortuyn said on the day of his murder that he wouldn't necessarily support the Dutch JSF development. Was Fortuyn killed by the CIA? The American secret services have already made it clear that they work in the interests of the Military-Industrial complex and hasn't shyed away from taking action on foreign soil. But to claim that the CIA was behind the murder of Fortuyn is going too far. Maybe in a few years we can set up a public enquiry to investigate Dutch involvement in the JSF project.
"Last Friday (probably 18 October) the Telegraaf lead with a thick headline shouting that Fortuyn was being bugged by the AIVD (Dutch MI5)." writes Theo van Gogh. "Kay van de Linde, campaign organiser of Leefbaar Nederland also thought; 'Pim you're being paranoid.' But the indications became stronger and stronger. There were things made public that only we could have known about." Van de Linde isn't the only one who believes that Pim Fortuyn was being bugged, various former acquaintances of Fortuyn have said the same thing to the Van den Haak commission who are investigating the security of Fortuyn. Van de Linde has since withdrawn his allegations. The Netherlands is "eavesdroppingland" according to experts, in a single month there is more eavedropping in the Netherlands than there is in the US in a whole year. It's ridiculous to suggest that Fortuyn wouldn't have been considered a threat by the establishment.

452 MPs vote to start war on Saddam without even discussing it in the Commons.
A massive majority of MPs last night voted that attacks on Iraq could begin without a Commons vote.
As they backed the plans by 452 votes to 85, Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon announced a huge increase in preparations for war.
Earlier, in an intense Commons debate on Iraq, Foreign Secretary Jack Straw had refused to guarantee ministers would come to the Commons to get MPs' approval for a war before it happened.
To the fury of Labour left-wingers, he said: "Any decision to take military action will be put before the House as soon as possible after the Government has taken the decision."
I hate to say "I told you so", but I TOLD YOU SO, there is so much more going on than we know about, even the Queen agrees!

An interesting argument, I think most of it surrounds the bombing conducted under the orders of "Bomber" Harris who was shunned after the war. I suppose it's a personal view, and it very much depends on which version of history you read. There awas a lot more to WWII that a simple fight against fascism because the same forces who were behind funding our war effort, also financed Hitlers war machine all be it through different subsidiaries and stuff.
Most people old enough to remember the German blitz on London and the V1s and V2s that followed will dismiss as absurd the charge of German historian, Jorg Friedrich, that Winston Churchill was a war criminal.

This happened only because her private remark was reported by a newspaper founded by Canadian press baron, Conrad Black, a man who gave up his citizenship in order to accept membership in Britain's House of Lords, something which enables him to pontificate in neo-gothic halls while costumed in a sweeping scarlet robe topped with puffs of white fluff. But his good works in Canada continue behind him, and the absurdly-biased paper he founded, The National Post, goes right on doing its duty - in this case, the reporting of an unmistakably-private remark just to embarrass Canada's Liberal Prime Minister.

Wherever he is, Osama bin Laden must be laughing his ass off. No matter how remotely he may have hidden himself, word of the American's foolishness must have reached him by now. I can envision the scene in my head, a courier on a motorcycle burns down a pocked and dusty road, comes to a stop at a camouflaged hideout, runs quickly inside and bows before his master's feet. "Oh great one," he says to his sworn leader Osama. "The American's have done it. I have seen it on Al-Jazeera myself. They have finally passed the Homeland Security Bill!"
Osama laughs wickedly, harder even then when the World Trade towers fell, his evil cackles echoing throughout the cracked and rock-strewn landscape.
Just why is Osama tickled? Because this is exactly what he wanted all along. The terror attacks themselves were just a prod, a flaming stick thrown on the anthill to get the ants running scared, too frightened and confused to realize they were trampling over and destroying the very things they hold most dear. And our queen ant, the mighty George W. Bush, may be the most confused and frightened of them all.
If Thatcher could support someone like Pol Pot, do you really think that Phony Tony is incapable of doing the same thing?? Almost two million Cambodians died as a result of Year Zero. John Pilger argues that, without the complicity of the US and Britain, it may never have happened.
On 17 April, it is 25 years since Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge entered Phnom Penh. In the calendar of fanaticism, this was Year Zero; as many as two million people, a fifth of Cambodia's population, were to die as a consequence. To mark the anniversary, the evil of Pol Pot will be recalled, almost as a ritual act for voyeurs of the politically dark and inexplicable. For the managers of western power, no true lessons will be drawn, because no connections will be made to them and to their predecessors, who were Pol Pot's Faustian partners. Yet, without the complicity of the west, Year Zero might never have happened, nor the threat of its return maintained for so long.
Declassified United States government documents leave little doubt that the secret and illegal bombing of then neutral Cambodia by President Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger between 1969 and 1973 caused such widespread death and devastation that it was critical in Pol Pot's drive for power. "They are using damage caused by B52 strikes as the main theme of their propaganda," the CIA director of operations reported on 2 May 1973. "This approach has resulted in the successful recruitment of young men. Residents say the propaganda campaign has been effective with refugees in areas that have been subject to B52 strikes." In dropping the equivalent of five Hiroshimas on a peasant society, Nixon and Kissinger killed an estimated half a million people. Year Zero began, in effect, with them; the bombing was a catalyst for the rise of a small sectarian group, the Khmer Rouge, whose combination of Maoism and medievalism had no popular base.
After two and a half years in power, the Khmer Rouge was overthrown by the Vietnamese on Christmas Day, 1978. In the months and years that followed, the US and China and their allies, notably the Thatcher government, backed Pol Pot in exile in Thailand. He was the enemy of their enemy: Vietnam, whose liberation of Cambodia could never be recognised because it had come from the wrong side of the cold war. For the Americans, now backing Beijing against Moscow, there was also a score to be settled for their humiliation on the rooftops of Saigon.

To post-Freudian ears, this kind of language seems touchingly quaint and ingenuous. Human beings are a good deal less rational and innately just than the optimists of the eighteenth century supposed. On the other hand they are neither so morally blind nor so hopelessly unreasonable as the pessimists of the twentienth would have us believe. In spite of the Id and the Unconscious, in spite of endemic neurosis and the prevalence of low IQ's, most men and women are probably decent enough and sensible enough to be trusted with the direction of their own destinies.
George Bush talks as if terrorists were terrorists for no fathomable reason. As if terrorism exists independent of time and place and without social causation. This would mean that terrorism cannot be understood and therefore no remedial action is feasible except the obliteration of the terrorists. But we have historical proof that if you kill a generation of terrorists a new generation will emerge with the same aspirations and often the same mode of struggle. There is such a thing as cause and effect. Terrorism is an effect. Something causes it. If you can’t find the cause, or can’t be bothered trying to find it, then terrorism will be a constant.
There is another problem. The English branded William Wallace a terrorist. To us, he was a freedom fighter. Those who fought for American independence were demonised as terrorists by the British Crown. All citizens of British colonies who fought for independence were branded terrorists. Mahatma Gandhi was vilified for advocating passive resistance to the British Raj and jailed as a terrorist, though he was a pacifist.
People denied the right to change society through the ballot box have a moral right to use force as a means of bringing about change. People who have the right to change things through the ballot box have no moral right to seek change through violence. When the gerrymandered electoral system in Northern Ireland denied Catholics and Nationalists a vote of equal value with Protestants and Unionists, then the IRA’s armed struggle for a United Ireland had some moral justification. When gerrymandering was ended and the principle of one person one vote was established, the IRA had no moral right to continue the armed struggle.
Given the current state of the world, I think everyone should read both these books again -- even if you've already read them. These two men were not only prophetic in their visions, they were both in the "upper-echelons" of society and almost certainly saw and heard things which coloured their opinions and ideas. Certainly 1984 could be renamed 2004 because that's where we seem to be heading when I look around at the world today.

A rogue spy has identified an Iraqi agent working for British military intelligence as a new suspect in the Lockerbie bombing, a Sunday Herald investigation has revealed.
The claims are made in an affidavit submitted to the High Court in London by David Greenberg, who worked with a secret arm of the British Army's Intelligence Corps.
He alleges a series of crimes by British undercover army units, among which it is claimed that 'a British intelligence agent of Iraqi descent' was connected to the downing of PanAm flight 103 over Lockerbie in December 1988. The terrorist attack claimed the lives of 270 people.

The reports emanating from the Middle East that some 1200 Israeli citizens working at the World Trade Center failed to show up for work on September 11 have been widely scoffed at. However, an early report that U.S. officials would investigate the allegation has been followed by stone silence. Any investigation should begin by checking the roster of occupants of the WTC for Israeli residents. And, remember, American Jews can become Israeli citizens and maintain their U.S. citizenship.

This time last year, supporters of George Bush's war on terror were in euphoric mood. As one Taliban stronghold after another fell to the US-backed Northern Alliance, they hailed the advance as a decisive blow to the authors of the September 11 atrocities. The critics and doom-mongers had been confounded, cheerleaders crowed. Kites were flying again, music was playing and women were throwing off their burkas with joyful abandon.
As the US president demanded Osama bin Laden "dead or alive", government officials on both sides of the Atlantic whispered that they were less than 48 hours from laying hands on the al-Qaida leader. By destroying the terrorist network's Afghan bases and its Taliban sponsors, supporters of the war argued, the Americans and their friends had ripped the heart out of the beast. Washington would now begin to address Muslim and Arab grievances by fast-tracking the establishment of a Palestinian state. Downing Street even published a rollcall of shame of journalists they claimed had been proved wrong by a hundred days of triumph. And in parliament, Jack Straw ridiculed Labour MPs for suggesting that the US and Britain might still be fighting in Afghanistan 12 months down the line.
One year on, the crowing has long since faded away; reality has sunk in. After six months of multiplying Islamist attacks on US, Australian and European targets, civilian and military - in Tunisia, Pakistan, Kuwait, Russia, Jordan, Yemen, the US and Indonesia - western politicians are having to face the fact that they are losing their war on terror. In Britain, the prime minister has taken to warning of the "painful price" that the country will have to pay to defeat those who are "inimical to all we stand for", while leaks about the risk of chemical or biological attacks have become ever more lurid. After a year of US military operations in Afghanistan and around the world, the CIA director George Tenet had to concede that the threat from al-Qaida and associated jihadist groups was as serious as before September 11. "They've reconstituted, they are coming after us," he said.
Like I always say, Orwell was a prophet and 1984 was just a typo! Give up your power to the fear of "terrorism" and pretty soon you'll have one of those black helicopters hovering outside your window telling you that it's illegal for you to be breathing in the wrong way!
Many of the predictions made by George Orwell in his book 1984 in relation to "Big Brother" surveillance, corruption of language and control of history have already come about to a great extent in Communist countries and to some extent in the West. The powers of security police in Western countries to intercept mail and tap phones have often been extended, police agencies keep numerous files on law-abiding citizens, and more and more public officials have the right to enter private homes without a warrant. Many government departments keep computerized information on citizens and there is a danger that this information will be fed into a centralized data bank.
Attempts by law enforcement agencies to obtain more information through informer schemes, through new law enforcement agencies, and through new techniques such as computerization of information, are understandable, but the cumulative effect of such Big Brother activities is to make countries such as the United States, Britain and Australia increasingly totalitarian societies. The corruption of language described in 1984 is widespread in the media today, with "Newspeak" terms such as democratic, socialist, fascist, war criminal, freedom fighter, racist and many other expressions being used in a deliberately deceptive, propagandistic way to whip up mass hysteria or simply to ensure that people can never achieve even an approximation of the truth.
The anniversary of the death of this brilliant person has been and gone, however this post is still appropriate. As with many significant events in recent "history" I've never believed the official line on this one; any time you have a "lone gunman" scenario in a political assasination it makes the whole affair smell like a large pile of rotting, diseased rhino dung. Israelis preparing to observe an official day of mourning Nov. 12 for the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, shot two years ago at a peace rally in Tel Aviv, seem equally preoccupied with unearthing details about the assassination, which shook this nation like no other event in its short history.
In addition to memorial ceremonies, the government releases Nov. 12 previously unpublished findings of a commission that investigated the Nov. 4, 1995, assassination. According to Israeli media reports, government officials who have read the Shamgar Commission report say the document reveals that an agent of the government security service, Shin Bet, urged the killer to shoot Mr. Rabin.
But now, the climate of blame seems likely to reach new heights as people who have been propagating conspiracy theories since Rabin's death have more fodder for arguments that the Nobel Peace Prize-winner was the victim of a government plot.
In fact, it is the conspiracy theorists who have pushed the Rabin investigation to the fore. Until two weeks ago, they were little more than fringe pamphleteers who made the lecture circuit in far right-wing circles. That was until the country became captivated by the suggestion that a government plot may be more than wild imaginings.
This appeared not so long ago but it's still relevant, I don't know where vox gets his (or her!) information from but I do know that he (or she) has a great way of predicting things that might happen, the Wellstone assasination was one of those predictions that came scarily true, who knows if it'll be Thailand next or not but I think we're definitely due another "terrorist" attack!

Most people old enough to remember the German blitz on London and the V1s and V2s that followed will dismiss as absurd the charge of German historian, Jorg Friedrich, that Winston Churchill was a war criminal.

To post-Freudian ears, this kind of language seems touchingly quaint and ingenuous. Human beings are a good deal less rational and innately just than the optimists of the eighteenth century supposed. On the other hand they are neither so morally blind nor so hopelessly unreasonable as the pessimists of the twentienth would have us believe. In spite of the Id and the Unconscious, in spite of endemic neurosis and the prevalence of low IQ's, most men and women are probably decent enough and sensible enough to be trusted with the direction of their own destinies. 
George Bush talks as if terrorists were terrorists for no fathomable reason. As if terrorism exists independent of time and place and without social causation. This would mean that terrorism cannot be understood and therefore no remedial action is feasible except the obliteration of the terrorists. But we have historical proof that if you kill a generation of terrorists a new generation will emerge with the same aspirations and often the same mode of struggle. There is such a thing as cause and effect. Terrorism is an effect. Something causes it. If you can’t find the cause, or can’t be bothered trying to find it, then terrorism will be a constant.

The powers of security police in Western countries to intercept mail and tap phones have often been extended, police agencies keep numerous files on law-abiding citizens, and more and more public officials have the right to enter private homes without a warrant. Many government departments keep computerized information on citizens and there is a danger that this information will be fed into a centralized data bank.
