Fear, Gluttony and Darkness Grip America

I found this during my daily scan of the brilliantly subversive VoxFux website, it was originally written by Mark Morford and appeared in the San Francisco Gate newspaper.

Feel that numbness? That strange slightly chilling shift deep in the heart, like a cold wind across the blood, an ice pick straight to the third eye, fingernails across the karmic chalkboard?

Fear not -- it's just the dark storm clouds of sadness and savage spiritual pain that just settled in over the collective soul of the country and indeed much of the world recently, as the Republican Party snatched total control of the American government and really honestly promised to further its agenda of fear and war and intolerance and bad sex and more petroleum products forevermore.

And the basic upshot being that Congress will now have almost zero struggle or balanced counterargument when the GOP chooses to ram through more generally invidious resolutions and white-power laws.

Laws that further its famously mean-spirited schema of war, oil, corporate cronyism, CEO inbreeding, heartlessness, artlessness, cultural molestation, giddy homophobia and really awful fashion sense.

Let us not also forget anti-choice misogyny, racism, gluttony, support for Big Agribiz and Big Tobacco and a general antipathy toward anyone who makes less than six figures or who really cares about the environment or enjoys true religious freedom or alternative viewpoints or authentic orgasms or honest laughter.

In short, it is an agenda that contains much sneering about anything that doesn't gibe with rich white-bread American doctrines of money and power and the earnest care and nurturing thereof. Yay, Republicans! Suggested GOP slogan for 2004: "More SUVs in more private gated communities now!"

The rescue parties

by George Monbiot

George MonbiotHow many political parties can dance on the head of a pin? The answer, it seems, is one. In Britain and the US, the opposition parties are beginning to discover that there simply isn't room for both them and their rivals on the narrow political platforms they have chosen to contest. Without enough space to shift their feet, they are being pushed ever closer to the edge of oblivion.

While the Conservatives are left with no choice but to steal back the clothes New Labour stole from them, the Democrats' refusal to step off the pinhead and find another platform is, at first sight, mysterious. It is plainly not a response to the demands of the electorate: indeed, they seem to be wildly out of touch with some of its main concerns. The tens of millions of US voters opposed to a war with Iraq were, until he died in a mysterious plane crash two weeks ago, represented by just one senator, Paul Wellstone. A survey in July suggested that 76% of American voters would like to see corporations forced to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions, while another poll, in June, found that 67% of the electorate believed that energy conservation, fuel efficiency and the development of solar technology were the best means of solving the impending US energy crisis. Yet Democratic congressmen have helped the Republicans to obstruct global efforts to tackle climate change. The Democrats have failed to respond decisively to the widespread public anger about tax cuts for the super rich, corporate corruption and the privatisation of state pensions.

It is true that Bush was assisted by the voters' tendency, when faced with an external threat, to cling to their government. But the Democrats, as even they now acknowledge, are largely to blame for their own destruction in last week's mid-term elections. As party strategist James Carville lamented, "we've got to just stand for something. No one made the case."

Welcome to the Desert of the Real

And there you were thinking that The Matrix was just a film...!

Whispers of vote fraud tremble on the wires - companies like Diebold, who make the new voting machines, whose officers are to a man Republican donors and activists, come under suspicion in the aftermath of such a wrenching reversal. How difficult is it to reprogram a machine which leaves no paper trail to say that 2 + 2 = 5? Is it about as difficult as sabotaging the workings of a small corporate jet, perhaps?

Perhaps. Senator Mel Carnahan died in a small plane crash two weeks before the conclusion of his vital race in 2000 against John Ashcroft, who went on to become Attorney General. Paul Wellstone died in a small plane crash two weeks before his all-important election contest for the Senate seat of Minnesota, throwing that race into chaos and ultimately handing the seat to Bush-picked conservative Norm Coleman. No satisfactory explanation has been forthcoming to explain these disasters, and on the latter matter of Wellstone, there has been virtual silence from the media and the NTSB investigators. Meanwhile, there have still been so arrests in the anthrax assassination attempts on Senators Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy. On this matter, again, the media is silent.

Carnahan-Wellstone-Daschle-Leahy. These should have been the four leading voices against the ideological and political desires of the Bush administration. Two are now dead, and two seem to have been cowed into an acquiescing silence. As a prince of Denmark was once heard to remark, something is out of joint. Questions on these issues, and on the voting irregularities and conflicts of interest surrounding the November 5th elections, must not fall silent. Indeed, they must be bellowed from rooftop and radio.

Simultaneously, though, we must also look to the legislative aftermath of all this. One way or another, we must deal with the conservative freight train of legislation that is ramrodding towards us. A brief look at who will be taking control of the congressional agenda in January proves to be revealing.

Stranger than Fiction

This has appeared on codshit.com before but it's superb so deserves a re-run, if you want to know what REALLY happened on September 11th 2001 then this is a must read.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the ancient Greek philosopher Socrates taught his students that the pursuit of truth can only begin once they start to question and analyze every belief that they ever held dear. If a certain belief passes the tests of evidence, deduction, and logic, it should be kept. If it doesn't, the belief should not only be discarded, but the thinker must also then question why he was led to believe the erroneous information in the first place. Not surprisingly, this type of teaching didn't sit well with the ruling elite of Greece. Many political leaders throughout history have always sought to mislead the thinking of the masses. Socrates was tried for "subversion" and for "corrupting the youth". He was then forced to take his own life by drinking poison. It's never easy being an independent thinker! Today, our ruling government/media complex doesn't kill people for pursuing the truth about the world (at least not yet!) They simply label them as "extremists" or "paranoid", destroying careers and reputations in the process. For many, that's a fate even worse than drinking poison hemlock!

Every news story you are about to review in this comprehensive research paper is true and easily verifiable. This investigation represents 10 months of careful study, research, analysis, source verification and logical deduction. Every event and quote presented here is 100% accurate. There are over 190 detailed footnotes which I encourage, no, urge, readers to explore and verify for themselves. The Internet version of this paper will allow users to obtain instant verification for each and every footnote by clicking on the footnotes/links. Others can obtain easy verification by entering the key search words (provided at the end of the paper) into the Yahoo or Google.com search engines. Due to the fact that well organized efforts are under way to suppress these facts, some of these news links are mysteriously disappearing even as we speak. Fortunately, this information has all been transcribed by many web users and is has therefore been preserved from the censors. These footnote searches will take you directly to the news sites of many well known established media organizations throughout the world as well as opening up doors to a world of knowledge and information that has been concealed from you. With just a little common sense and a few clicks of a mouse, Google and Yahoo now enable anyone with an ounce of curiosity to become a Sherlock Holmes.

This is no opinion piece. Rather it is a collection of buried, but undeniable facts, events, and quotes which, when assembled in one place, will state their own conclusions. In putting together this research in a logical and sequential format, great care was taken to confirm and double confirm every piece of information. Any and all questionable data which could not be independently verified to this author’s satisfaction was discarded.

Journalist Helen Thomas condemns Bush administration

Veteran journalist Helen Thomas brought the grit and whir of a White House press conference to Bartos Theater on Monday evening, speaking with passion about the media's role in a democracy whose leaders seem eager for war.

Actually, the 82-year-old former United Press International reporter didn't just speak: she surged into her topic, giving everyone present an immediate sense of the grumpy wit and fierce precision that gave her reporting on American presidents Kennedy through Bush II such a competitive and lasting edge.

"I censored myself for 50 years when I was a reporter," said Thomas, who is now a columnist for Hearst News Service. "Now I wake up and ask myself, 'Who do I hate today?'" Her short list of answers seems not to vary from war, President Bush, timid office-holders, a muffled press and cowed citizens, pretty much in that order.

Angered by what she views as the Bush administration's "bullying drumbeat," Thomas referred early and often to her own hatred of war, quoting from poets and politicians to bear down on President Bush and his colleagues.

US will attack without approval

It is an historical fact that no civilisation built on the blood of innocents has ever endured. In time the fate of the American Corporation willl be no different than any of the other tyrant or despot.

The Bush administration yesterday said it would not wait for the UN security council to approve an attack on Iraq if it fails to comply with weapons inspections, casting new light on leaked battlefield scenarios.

The muscle-flexing by the administration comes only days after two impressive victories: historic gains by the Republicans in mid-term elections and a unanimous endorsement of the UN security council for a stringent weapons inspections regime in Iraq.

It arrived on a day when the New York Times and Washington Post both published highly detailed scenarios for a war on Iraq. The plans, which would involve up to 250,000 troops, envisage a relatively abbreviated air assault, with special forces and regular soldiers moving in to establish footholds in the north, west and south of the country.

Meanwhile, there were signs that Washington's robust exercise of foreign policy would extend to its prosecution of the war on terror. The national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, said on television that Mr Bush had given broad authority to pre-emptive strikes, such as last week's missile attack which killed six suspected members of al-Qaida in Yemen.

USA Suspected of Being Behind Moscow Hostage Crisis

Natalia Vitrenko claims that the USA needed the hostage crisis in Moscow

The leader of the Progressive Social Party of Ukraine, Natalia Vitrenko, stated at one of her press conferences that the USA might have been behind the act of terrorism in the Moscow music theater.

The major Ukrainian figure of progressive socialism believes that the USA needed the act of terrorism to take place in Russia. Natalia Vitrenko believes that a statement that was released by the American president, proved it. George Bush said that the Americans want to launch military action against Iraq get Russia involved in the so-called anti-Iraqi coalition. Vitrenko also added that the Americans did not manage to realize their plans.

London Hints Bali Bomb Might Be "Dirty" Radiological!

Joe's analysis of the Bali Bombing is the best I've read yet, it is certainly more believable than the official bollocks the media would have us believe. They must think we're idiots or something...

by Joe Vialls

On the morning of 6th November, my claims about a micro nuclear weapon in Bali were published on the front page of a major newspaper in Java. Apparently the claims were enthusiastically embraced by Indonesians already deeply suspicious of Australia’s unseemly and entirely unnecessary involvement in the Kuta Beach investigation. To understand the level of outrage and mistrust, ask yourself how angry you would be if a bunch of uninvited Indonesian police turned up to "investigate" a crime in New York, London or Sydney.

Early the next morning, members of the Indonesian Government in Jakarta became involved and called urgently for further details about the nuclear device. And so it was that by 10 a.m. on 7th November, the ludicrous Australian-American myth about “Jemaah Islamiyah” and “al Qaeda” attacking Bali, was rapidly starting to unravel across Indonesia.

According to a well-placed government source in Jakarta, firm action was then taken to reverse the situation, and restore the Australian-American myth in the eyes of the public. Sometime around noon an Indonesian general connected to TNI, ordered that a man called Amrozi be ‘strongly’ encouraged to confess.

To quote the Jakarta government source, Amrozi “was hooked up to 220 volts, given a cup of Scopolamine, and thirty minutes later was ready to swear he was George Bush”. Our brave Australian and American investigators neatly sidestepped direct involvement in this torture, by lamely telling television viewers at home that they had “no need to interrogate the suspect personally”.

In reality Amrozi is a motorcycle mechanic from east Java, whose wife and neighbors can prove he never left his home island, but this awkward truth was of no concern to the general, nor to his western paymasters. By early morning on the 8th of November, the western media obediently started parroting claims that Amrozi was a “known associate of Jemaah Islamiyah”, with indirect links to “al Qaeda”.

By late afternoon the same day, al Jazeera television, the nice folk who brought you the blatantly forged video footage of “Osama Bin Laden” last year, issued a press release stating that, “al Qaeda has accepted full responsibility for the Bali bombing”. Wrong! The web site on which this bogus claim was made, is owned and discreetly operated by a 'blind' company in Qatar, the home base of al Jazeera.

It was perhaps on this date that we finally slipped seamlessly into a post-Orwellian media world, where those who control the present ignore the past, and don’t give a damn about the future. As if bewitched, journalists worldwide jumped on the Thought Police band wagon, telling us to believe that an imaginary terrorist organization had motivated a motorcycle mechanic in Java to kill nearly 300 people in Bali, using only a van full of Potassium chlorate detergent. As George Orwell foresaw in his famous novel “1984”, there seems to be little we can do at present about this blatant media disinformation:

“At present nothing is possible except to extend the area of sanity little by little. We cannot act collectively. We can only spread our knowledge outwards from individual to individual, generation after generation. In the face of the Thought Police there is no other way.”

No matter the level of direct and indirect media control, the vexing problem of a newly alert Indonesian Government had still not been completely resolved. What if a suspicious minister [or ministers] managed to slip the right scientific equipment into Bali, and detected residual traces of slow alpha radiation from the micro nuke at Kuta Beach?

Help was soon on the way to deal with this possible contingency. On the morning of Saturday 9th November, just three days after my claims were published in the Indonesian newspaper, Intelligence services in London used the British Home Office as a 'front', and issued a dire warning that “al Qaeda might be planning to attack the west with a dirty radiological weapon”.

For those not fully conversant with this dreadful technology, it was helpfully explained that a radiological weapon is a conventional explosive bomb with nuclear waste wrapped around it. When the bomb explodes it hurls radioactive material outwards, causing terrible injuries to the victims of the blast. Of course, the Home Office warning was swiftly “retracted’ six hours later by Minister of Home Affairs David Blunkett, who said it was a “clerical error”, but not before the bogus warning had been peddled to the public by every television network in the western world.

This is not the first time that British intelligence has used this technique to subtly deflect attention away from a real micro nuke. The same claim was peddled back in 1993 after micro nukes were used on the City of London, as indirect warnings for the City to fall in line behind New York. I recorded this earlier intelligence leak in a report first published in 1993, and posted on the Internet six years later.

“During early May 1993, ITN World News from London carried an interesting feature in which it was explained that due to thefts of highly-radioactive Uranium 235, terrorists would now be able to contaminate conventional bombs with 500 grams of Uranium, thereby forcing the police to stay away from the area for days. Exactly why experienced terrorists would risk detection & death by transporting deadly unshielded Uranium around in their pockets was not explained.

“There is no credible reason for keeping the police and other authorities away from a bombsite after the weapon has been detonated. However, the rumor could form the basis of a government defence in cases where American or British citizens located positive traces of radiation, near the World Trade Centre or in the City of London, for example.” The original 1993 report can be read here.

The British Home Office never makes “clerical errors” of this magnitude, especially on a Saturday when its civil servants are at home for the weekend, and the only people left in the Home Office building are duty spooks and cleaners. The bogus story was released specifically [and only] to cover any future discovery of radiation at Kuta Beach.

Now if an Indonesian minister manages to establish that traces of slow alpha radiation are still present in Bali, all the deranged General has to do is collect a few more “suspects”, hook them up to 220 volts, pour Scopolamine down their throats, and urge them to “confess” that the mythical “al Qaeda” provided nuclear waste to wrap around their homemade bomb constructed from potassium chlorate detergent.

Impotent Arab League puts on brave face

by Robert Fisk

That most tired of horses, the Arab League, would have us believe yesterday that Iraq had accepted UN Security Council Resolution 1441.

Naji Sabri, the Iraqi Foreign Minister, insisted the resolution had diluted Washington's desire for war. The Iraqi parliament, no less – only slightly less democratic than the Roman Senate during the reign of the Emperor Nero – was being summoned to vote on the UN resolution.

And if the people of Iraq decide UN inspectors should be allowed into their country, who would expect Saddam Hussein to reject their wish?

In reality, of course, the Arab League – the most powerless and impotent of all the animals in the Arab stable – has simply gone along with what looks best.

Worse Days

by William Rivers Pitt

There have been worse days.

The day bullets flew in Dallas and virtually tore President Kennedy's head from his shoulders, spraying his wife with brain matter and bone meal, was worse. The day a bullet ripped through the throat of Martin Luther King, Jr., dropping him where he stood and silencing a voice for peace and justice, was worse. The day Robert Kennedy won the California primary and was rewarded with a bullet in the head and death on a dirty kitchen floor was worse. The day a partisan Supreme Court defied constitutional law to appoint a President who had not carried the vote was worse. The day commercial airplanes slashed the blue sky with ash and woe was worse.

There have been worse days, but not many.

For the first time in 17 months, the Republican Party controls every level of the Federal government. The Democrats lost incumbent Senate seats in Georgia, Minnesota and Missouri, and failed to capture contested seats in North Carolina, South Carolina, New Hampshire or Colorado. The dramatic defection of James Jeffords has been rendered null and void.

There have been worse days. There will be worse days to come.

George W. Bush now holds sole ownership of the power to make war across the globe. The Republican-controlled Congress will rubber-stamp every military decision he makes, and there will be no leavening hand even to modify the language of war-making resolutions. When the Bush resolution for war in Iraq came to Congress, the dangerously vague phrase "the region" - which would have offered legal justification for war on Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Yemen, Egypt to name a few - was expunged. That small breakwater is gone.

Will Sharon Launch Another 911 Against The US?

by Jeffrey Steinberg, EIR

Among senior intelligence analysts in the United States, the Arab world and Israel, there is a growing fear that Ariel Sharon is about to covertly launch a Sept. 11-type terrorist attack, targeting the United States--in order to drag President George W. Bush into a war against Iraq.

Two factors may be impelling Sharon to take such provocative measures.

First, there is a growing chorus of leading U.S. military figures, active duty and retired, and prominent Republican Party foreign policy mandarins, who are voicing strong opposition to the war against Saddam Hussein's Iraq... The second factor driving Sharon to possibly launch a false-flag 911 terror attack on the U.S.A. is his falling popularity inside Israel. It is almost a certainty that there will be a government crisis before the end of the year, and early elections, perhaps over Israel's dire economic crisis and the inability of the Sharon government to agree on a budget that can pass the Knesset.

Unanswered questions in Bali bombing investigations

Indonesian and Australian police are claiming a major breakthrough in their investigation into the Bali bombings, following the questioning of a man in his thirties, Amrozi, who was detained last week in the village of Tenggulun near the east Javan city of Surabaya.

According to police, Amrozi was the owner of the Mitsubishi L300 minivan containing a large bomb that devastated the Sari Club in the Kuta Beach tourist area on the night of October 12 and killed more than 180 people. He is reported to have confessed to building the bomb and to participating in setting it off.

Head of the Indonesian investigating team, General I Made Pastika, said that Amrozi had bought a quantity of the fertiliser ammonium nitrate in Surabaya which was used in building the bomb. According to Pastika, between five and nine other suspects, including several of Amrozi’s brothers, had been identified as part of the plot and were being tracked down by police.

Two other men have been detained for questioning—Muhammad Zakaria, the head of an Islamic boarding school that Amrozi apparently visited, and Silvester Tendean, the owner of the chemical store where Amrozi allegedly bought explosives. Police reported that Amrozi had taken them to several locations in the Balinese provincial capital, Denpasar, which were used by the plotters.

MI6 'halted bid to arrest bin Laden'

Startling revelations by French intelligence experts back David Shayler's alleged 'fantasy'about Gadaffi plot

British intelligence paid large sums of money to an al-Qaeda cell in Libya in a doomed attempt to assassinate Colonel Gadaffi in 1996 and thwarted early attempts to bring Osama bin Laden to justice.

The latest claims of MI6 involvement with Libya's fearsome Islamic Fighting Group, which is connected to one of bin Laden's trusted lieutenants, will be embarrassing to the Government, which described similar claims by renegade MI5 officer David Shayler as 'pure fantasy'.

The allegations have emerged in the book Forbidden Truth , published in America by two French intelligence experts who reveal that the first Interpol arrest warrant for bin Laden was issued by Libya in March 1998.

According to journalist Guillaume Dasquié and Jean-Charles Brisard, an adviser to French President Jacques Chirac, British and US intelligence agencies buried the fact that the arrest warrant had come from Libya and played down the threat. Five months after the warrant was issued, al-Qaeda killed more than 200 people in the truck bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.

The arrest warrant was issued in connection with the murder in March 1994 of two German anti-terrorism agents, Silvan and Vera Becker, who were in charge of missions in Africa. According to the book, the resistance of Western intelligence agencies to the Libyan concerns can be explained by MI6's involvement with the al-Qaeda coup plot.

The Invisible Power House: The Bilderberg Group

The conspiracy theory writers have repeatedly linked one powerful global elite, the Bilderberg Group, with the ultimate take-over of the world. Members of the Bilderberg together with their 'sister' organisations-the Trilateral Commission (known also as the "Child of Bilderberg") and the Council on Foreign Relations-are charged with the post-war take-over of the democratic process. The measures implemented by this group so far prove the control of the world economy through indirect political means.

The constitution of several democratic monarchies of the Western Europe bans members of their royal families from playing an active role in the political process. However, the Bilderberg meetings provide this exact forum and platform for them.
"This unprecedented period of European cooperation is more than a product of simple nation-state diplomacy. One of the key institutions that has fostered unity and cooperation with the Atlantic Community beyond the old concepts has been the Bilderberg Group."
"I tell you frankly that I am deeply alarmed today over the possibility that a right-wing reaction may draw some sections of capital so far away from our traditions as to imperil the entire structure of American life as we know it."

These comments by Pasymowski and Gilbert two decades ago may seem out of phase with the current events in former Yugoslavia, but, in terms of the continued stability of the "European State", they have proven to be largely accurate. Warfare has been removed from the intra-European systems as a means of controlling and directing nationalistic goals and ideas. Even in the case of former Yugoslavia, one observes that the current state of war has resulted from Tito's and the Soviet Union's demise. Consequently, the lid has been lifted on rivals and racial memories which had been artificially kept in place for previous decades. The several proto-states which make up the former Yugoslavia were not part of the economic and social development programs which evolved in Western Europe. As we would see, the way in which the rest of Europe evolved and developed was very different, and for very particular reasons.

Bush Lies, Media Swallows

The more things change... Roughly ten years ago, I celebrated the criminal indictment of Elliott Abrams for lying to Congress by writing an Op-Ed in the New York Times on the increasing acceptance of official deception. (I was just starting my dissertation on the topic back then.) The piece got bogged down, however, when an editor refused to allow me even to imply that then-President Bush was also lying to the country. I noted that such reticence made the entire exercise feel a bit absurd. He did not dispute this point but explained that Times policy simply would not allow it. I asked for a compromise. I was offered the following: "Either take it out and a million people will read you tomorrow, or leave it in and send it around to your friends." (It was a better line before e-mail.) Anyway, I took it out, but I think it was the last time I've appeared on that page.

President Bush is a liar. There, I said it, but most of the mainstream media won't.

Freedom of speech on the way out in Europe...

Aren't we supposed to be moving forward as a society? This is moving forward, this is moving backwards.

Europeans Outlaw Net Hate Speech

Obey! The Council of Europe has adopted a measure that would criminalize Internet hate speech, including hyperlinks to pages that contain offensive content.

The provision, which was passed by the council's decision-making body (the Committee of Ministers), updates the European Convention on Cybercrime.

Specifically, the amendment bans "any written material, any image or any other representation of ideas or theories, which advocates, promotes or incites hatred, discrimination or violence, against any individual or group of individuals, based on race, colour, descent or national or ethnic origin, as well as religion if used as pretext for any of these factors."

It also obliquely refers to the Holocaust, outlawing sites that deny, minimize, approve or justify crimes against humanity, particularly those that occurred during World War II.

"The emergence of international communication networks like the Internet provide certain persons with modern and powerful means to support racism and xenophobia and enables them to disseminate easily and widely expressions containing such ideas," the council's report on the amendment states. "In order to investigate and prosecute such persons, international cooperation is vital."

After Iraq, Bush will attack his real target

by Eric Margolis

President George Bush wrapped himself in the American flag and won a major victory last week as U.S. voters gave control of both houses of Congress to the Republican party. In mid-term elections, the party in power almost always fares badly, but this year an electorate, gripped by fear of terrorism, and whipped into war fever by high-voltage propaganda, voted Republican. Thank you Osama and Saddam.

One poignant photo said it all: Georgia's defeated Democratic senator, Max Cleland, sitting in a wheelchair, missing both legs and an arm lost in combat in Vietnam. This highly decorated hero was defeated by a Vietnam war draft-dodger who had the audacity to accuse Cleland of being "unpatriotic" after the senator courageously voted against giving Bush unlimited war-related powers. I do not recall a more shameful moment in American politics.

Bush's victory is clearly a mandate to proceed with his crusade against Iraq. Preparations for war are in an advanced stage. The U.S. has been quietly moving heavy armour and mechanized units from Europe to the Mideast. Three division equivalents and a Marine heavy brigade are now in theatre. An armada of U.S. warplanes is assembling around Iraq, which is bombed almost daily. U.S. special forces are operating in northern Iraq, and, along with Israeli scout units, in Iraq's western desert near the important H2 airbase. The war could begin as early as mid-December if there is no coup against Saddam Hussein.

But for all the propaganda about wicked Saddam, Iraq is not the main objective for the small but powerful coterie of Pentagon hardliners driving the Bush administration's national security policy. Nor is it for their intellectual and emotional peers in Israel's right-wing Likud party. The real target of the coming war is Iran, which Israel views as its principal and most dangerous enemy. Iraq merely serves as a pretext to whip America into a war frenzy and to justify insertion of large numbers of U.S. troops into Mesopotamia.

Bali bombing theories point to military link

It wasn't the work of Muslim extremists in cahoots with the Al Qaeda terrorist network, the human-rights activist says.

If it was the work of Muslim extremists, it was only in conjunction with the Indonesian military.

"The widely held opinion is that Muslim radicals were responsible for this," says Rumbiak, who is in Toronto on a mission to expose military brutality in his home province of Papua.

"That might be true. But people have to look further and study the relationship between the military and this group. They couldn't do it themselves.

Bush fights for another clean shot in his war

by Robert Fisk

"A clean shot" was The Washington Post's revolting description of the murder of the al-Qa'ida leaders in Yemen by a US "Predator" unmanned aircraft. With grovelling approval, the US press used Israel's own mendacious description of such murders as a "targeted killing" – and shame on the BBC for parroting the same words on Wednesday. How about a little journalistic freedom here? Like asking why this important al-Qa'ida leader could not have been arrested. Or tried before an open court. Or, at the least, taken to Guantanamo Bay for interrogation.

Instead, the Americans release a clutch of Guantanamo "suspects", one of whom – having been held for 11 months in solitary confinement – turns out to be around 100 years old and so senile that he can't string a sentence together. And this is the "war on terror"?

But a "clean shot" is what President Bush appears to want to take at the United Nations. First, he wants to force it to adopt a resolution about which the Security Council has the gravest reservations. Then he warns that he might destroy the UN's integrity by ignoring it altogether. In other words, he wants to destroy the UN. Does George Bush realise that the United States was the prime creator of this institution, just as it was of the League of Nations under President Woodrow Wilson?

Indonesians Say They Suspect C.I.A. in Bali Blast

The American ambassador here, Ralph L. Boyce, does not have to venture far from his heavily fortified embassy to be challenged about who was responsible for the Bali bombings that killed more than 180 people.

The perception among many of the educated elite in this largely moderate Muslim country is that it was not, as the United States has suggested, a radical Islamic group with links to Al Qaeda.

Instead, they blame the Central Intelligence Agency. Some have argued that the United States prompted the Bali attack as a way of prodding Indonesia to join a possible war against Iraq.

Mercenaries... Coming to a dissident near you.

America's Secret Army A thriving cash business

by Leslie Wayne

With the war on terror already a year old and the possibility of war against Iraq growing by the day, a modern version of an ancient practice — one as old as warfare itself — is reasserting itself at the Pentagon. Mercenaries, as they were once known, are thriving — only this time they are called private military contractors, and some are even subsidiaries of Fortune 500 companies.

The Pentagon cannot go to war without them.

Often run by retired military officers, including three- and four-star generals, private military contractors are the new business face of war. Blurring the line between military and civilian, they provide stand-ins for active soldiers in everything from logistical support to battlefield training and military advice at home and abroad.

Some are helping to conduct training exercises using live ammunition for American troops in Kuwait, under the code name Desert Spring. One has just been hired to guard President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan, the target of a recent assassination attempt. Another is helping to write the book on airport security. Others have employees who don their old uniforms to work under contract as military recruiters and instructors in R.O.T.C. classes, selecting and training the next generation of soldiers.

In the darker recesses of the world, private contractors go where the Pentagon would prefer not to be seen, carrying out military exercises for the American government, far from Washington's view. Royal Weirdness Part 2: Mr Al Fayed: an apology

I realise that some of you might not think of this as serious news but as fas are the power structures and institutions go, here in the UK it is important. This isn't "just another royal scandal" this one is HUGE, it's the scandal equivalent of a thermonuclear weapon. How much more weird is this going to get??? Now we have the Guardian of all papers running the following article... Something is happening here, I get the impression that most of it is under the surface, iceberg style. Who knows what it is but I think it's pretty serious. If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears because I can't figure this one out.

There are clearly two (or more) factions within the Royal Household, plus we have all of the "men in grey suits" the Royal bureaucrats as it were, this stuff goes back a long time too because Diana's family were close confidants of the Stuart Dynasty hundreds of years ago. There are those who view the Winsdor (Saxe-Coburg-Goethe) Dynasty as usurpers to the throne. I don't know who or what to believe anymore... First everyone was portraying Mr al Fayed as a less-than-sane person, now this "apology" is appearing the Guardian newspaper.

I'm confused! In the words of Homer Simpson, "Help me Jebus!".

Of all the unlikely and unpleasant people claiming attention in the wake of royal butler Paul Burrell's revelations, who would have thought Mohamed Al Fayed might emerge as vaguely plausible? But his conspiracy theories have certainly received a boost.

This is in part because of the warning Burrell claims to have had from the Queen that "there are powers at work about which we know nothing". This could be taken as a reference to the security services which Princess Diana apparently believed had her under close and hostile surveillance for the last years of her life. But the real boost to conspiracy theorists comes from Burrell's revelations about Diana's relations with Muslim men and the reaction of those around her.

Burrell has revealed the extent and seriousness of Diana's relationship with the Pakistan-born doctor, Hasnat Khan, and her desire to have his child. He also claims that the relationship with Dodi Fayed was entrancing enough for her to have considered moving to his Los Angeles home. More revealingly, he has exposed how the peculiar world of the aristocracy reacted. Diana was no longer speaking to her mother at the time of her death after Frances Shand Kydd screamed abuse at her for her relationship with "Muslim males". The content of Prince Philip's letters, which were in the missing box of crucial material, is currently unknown. Given his track record on remarks about foreigners, "slitty eyed" and otherwise, it is tempting to speculate...

Squirrel terrorizes British town

In a desperate bid to develop new weapons of mass destruction, the ingeniously malevolent Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has enlisted an army of squirrels as his next prized weapons system. The little creatures, pumped full of steroids and mind-control drugs, have been released into British towns to terrorise the population. Our Iraqi source told us that if this experiment was successful the squirrels would be released in large numbers throughout the USA, Australia and anyone else who attempted to invade Iraq.

A squirrel is spreading terror in a Cheshire town where it keeps attacking people.

Its latest victim was a two-year-old girl, British newspapers reported on Thursday.

Children have been attacked, grown men chased and residents of Knutsford, central England, are fearful of letting their kids out to play, the Times newspaper said.

The rogue squirrel's latest attack was on toddler Kelsi Morley who was bitten on the forehead.

The Greatest Achievement

by voxfux

Thirty years ago, the era of manned moon flights ended. In December of 1972 the last Apollo rocket ever built blasted off to the moon. (To this day there are no capabilities or craft to land men on the moon)

The race to the moon was America's greatest achievement. It fired the imaginations of the people of the world. When Neil Armstrong - stepped foot on the moon - in an instant the whole world was united. It was the single most viewed event ever. In one instant the United States symbolized the dreams, hopes and imaginations of billions of the world's inhabitants and captured the respect and goodwill of all people, in all countries.

Our effort was born of mankind's more pure abd trustworthy of instincts - To explore. And while the moon program was so formidable and monumental it was also America's most civil national adventure. It was not a mission to extract precious stones, nor to assess the commercial possibilities of strip mining there. Our purpose was not to lob bombs on other peoples heads from way up high nor to capture and control markets there. Our only mission was to deliver Astronauts to the moon and return them safely home, to explore. And to ignite the imaginations of billions of people everywhere.

Today the image of America is of a bloated, greedy outlaw. We are hated the world over not bacause they hate freedom, but because they hate arrogance, greed, and force. And this is all we have offered to the world in the last fourty years.

Colonialism 2 - The Return...

Okey dokey, here we have a classic case of Great Power manipulation. The USA wants everyone to accept the fact that it can do whatever the hell it likes just because it's got a humungous nuclearsteroidviagra-laden military bogeyperson and the right-wing, neo-fascist, quasi-cardassian-totalitarianist political weenies prepared to push the proverbial button. They want us to LIKE the fact that they are going to tell everyone else in the world to simply grin and bear it because those other leaders in that other country are soooo bad and evil and nasty! They're trying to convince us that they're doing it because they're loved-up DJ's and want to spread harmony throughout the world, honest...

As much as I HATE what Mugabe has done to Zimbabwe I can't abide the USA using hypocrisy, propaganda and seeming good intentions to effectively do what they're doing to Iraq. Same kinda "evildoer", different choice of weapon. I'm not saying that Zimbabwe doesn't need some serious intervention by someone who actually CARES about the Zimbabwean people (and Africans generally!) I'm just saying that this US administration isn't it, none of us white-folks are. Do you really think Dick Cheney is the least bit interested in the Zimbabwean people???? If you do, then I suggest you go to the codshit archive and read everything there, then come back and we'll talk.

racist nazi bigot I love Africa with all my heart, I've lived in that part of the world and it pains me to see what's happening to it, but we have to accept that these problems are of Western civilisation's making. Africans were absolutely fine until we got there bangin' on about all the religious mind-control crap that we learned -and don't spout any of the propaganda bull that you learn in school because it's all shyt. Understand this; on a HUMAN level, they were probably more feckin' civilised than Europeans were in the same period of time. Africa is a timeless place where you can see infinity just by loooking out of the window. I was brought up there and I've seen what white arrogance has done to Africa (bad, but there is also some good there). I think we need to just leave them alone and let them figure it out for themselves, if they want help we should offer it but let them decide what they need and then we should provide it, free of charge and without any condition. We must not repeat the mistakes of the past; pull out our administrators (who held the other musungus in check!) and leave things up to the multi-nationals -who turned out to be even MORE rabid than the damn colonials!

The following story just shows you how utterly ignorant and incompetent and above-all VIOLENT this US "administration" is; and, oh look! Things just got worse! Because now they have even more power! I hope you guys realise that with this so-called "election" they've just just turned up the heat under all of our arses.

(USA + election * bush = FARCE)

Something really bad is going down here...

USA To Intervene To Save Zimbabweans?

The US government warned yesterday that it might take "intrusive, interventionist measures" to deliver food aid directly to millions of famine-hit Zimbabweans if President Robert Mugabe continues to starve his political opponents.

Washington is considering measures that would challenge Zimbabwe's sovereignty, the Guardian was told by Mark Bellamy, the principal deputy assistant secretary of state for Africa. Such drastic measures are being studied because the Mugabe regime is aggravating the effects of a region-wide famine by blocking food from areas which support the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), he added.

"We may have to be prepared to take some very intrusive, interventionist measures to ensure aid delivery to Zimbabwe," Mr Bellamy said by telephone from Washington.

The plan was disclosed in the Zimbabwean state-owned Herald newspaper under the headline "US plans to invade Harare".

'War crimes' fear for British troops

Does this mean we could drag Tony "Me So Phony" Blair, Jack "Never Met A War He Didn't Like" Straw and Harriet "My Kids Are Better Than Your Kids" Harman in front of the ICC??? Now THAT would be fun! No wonder they're worried about it! To be honest I'd love to see them in Battle Fatigues leading our troops into battle. That's where they should be!!

If you're a parliamentary journalist and happen to be reading this [well, I can wish can't I! - ewar] then could you possibly ask Mr Blair if he'd be prepared to let his sons join the army and go off to Iraq to fight with the useless weapons we issue our troops...!

The Government is concerned that British servicemen and women involved in any war against Iraq could find themselves facing action from the International Criminal Court, defence sources said yesterday.

This week's attack, by a CIA Predator drone, on a car containing al-Qa'eda terrorists in Yemen has served only to intensify concerns within the Cabinet, which extend to Tony Blair and Geoff Hoon, Defence Secretary. They are both lawyers by training, as is Jack Straw, Foreign Secretary, another key player in the debate. "Lawyer Blair and lawyer Hoon are really worried about this now," one defence source said.

Lord Goldsmith, Attorney General, and Harriet Harman, Solicitor General, have warned the Government that if it attacked Iraq without the backing of a UN Resolution action then it could find itself hauled before the ICC.

The Ongoing Monarchial Weirdness

Here's a wild thought, maybe Her Majesty is actually one of the good guys... Certainly if one reads all the coverage of the Burrell saga she comes across as a very human person with real concerns about the state of her Kingdom. It strikes me that the Queen must have given Burrell the warning she did; the fact that the palace isn't screaming for blood is testament to the veracity of that claim. This whole story gets weirder and weirder, one side trying to smear him with lies, the other side trying to defend him. Me thinks the Establishment might be having a mild attack of schizophrenia, there's definitely some weird shit happening. I would just love to be a fly on the wall in Buckingham Palace right now. We all assume that Her Majesty is all powerful and knows everything but the chances are that she's being manipulated just like the rest of us by the same shadowy bunch of quasi-fascists that are out to destroy Diana's memory and with it what little democracy which we as a Nation are entitled to have...

Let me take this opportunity to commend The Mirror for it's handling of this affair, the newspaper has suprised me a lot since 9/11. They used to be just a Maxwell propaganda rag but they seem to be rediscovering their roots. The fact that John Pilger is writing for them again is testament to that. Well done guys, keep it up.

Listen To Those Chiling Words

Intelligence author and former government operative

by Richard Bennett

It has been the clearest hint so far that even the Queen is uneasy at the power wielded by an unelected and secret cabal made up of the so-called "permanent government" and elements within the security services.

The words she uttered to Paul Burrell are now set to reverberate around Whitehall and perhaps even penetrate Thames House, the headquarters of MI5.

The Queen has watched over a Britain dominated for 50 years by a paranoia largely generated by MI5 and a Civil Service mentality forever unwilling to accept the loyalty of generations of working men and women if they belonged to certain trade unions or left wing pressure groups.

The Queen saw Harold Wilson's government fatally undermined by right-wing security service officers at a time when renegade MI5 officer Peter Wright admitted the service had "bugged and burgled its way round London" for much of the postwar period.

Royal flush (Updated: 17:09 GMT)
Crook, chump, scoundrel or hero? The events surrounding the collapsed trial of Princess Diana's butler Paul Burrell are as baffling as they are gripping. Why did he stash away a weird collection of several hundred of her belongings after she died? Why did the police claim falsely that he was planning to sell them? Why did the queen suddenly, and very belatedly, tell the police that the souvenir snatch had been with her knowledge? Most bizarre of all, did the queen really tell Mr Burrell in the course of a three-hour tête-à-tête after the princess's death, as he claims, that “there are powers at work in this country about which we have no knowledge”?

Interview of Greg Palast

One of the warriors of the people, Greg Palast is a Geezah, this is a great interview. Trust me, all hope is not lost!

from the Alex Jones Radio Show

He is an investigative reporter. He’s talked about Lord Wakeham, head of N.M. Rothschild trying to censor him. He broke the story, one of the biggest stories of the last year. In fact, one of the biggest stories ever and I’m serious when I say that about a thousand pages getting leaked out of the World Bank. And, of course, the defection of Stiglitz, the chief economist of the World Bank. Their plan to implode economies, their four-part plan. We are going to recap that today and get the latest developments from this investigative journalist, who I would call a populist, because – you know, Greg Palast is a hero of the left, but this guy went after Bill Clinton. He exposes this corporate elite that is big government, that is socialistic in their consolidation of the public trust, then consolidating that into their private hands. We are dealing with a command and control system, ladies and gentlemen, and he does real investigative journalism like they did in this country one-hundred years ago. We are honored to have him.

What’s the latest info that you are working on, sir? Good to have you on.

GP: Okay, great to be on Alex. And by the way, that’s the famous, I guess I’m not the darling of the left anymore, they are very upset with me. The problem is that my target is not the left or the right. My target is a very small privileged elite which thinks that the globe is their toy. And I think that journalists, like you say the old time journalists, muckrakers, used to think that that was their job to uncover that stuff. And it’s kind of gone out of style. So, but I’m glad that you’ve opened up a chink in the electronic Berlin wall here to get this information out. So I really do appreciate it.

I’ve been working on a lot of things. One, I just came back from Caracas, Venezuela. And the U.S. government and the banks and the oil companies have been working out on the president of Venezuela - the communist dictator and etc. What they don’t tell you is the reason they are out after this guy is that he is not just the president of Venezuela; he is the president of OPEC. And he has doubled the royalties on oil companies taking oil out of Venezuela. Not many people know that Venezuela is our main supplier of oil in this hemisphere.

Republican Party says it's ready to roll...

Isn't this just great, now we have more of those greedy, self-serving, war-mongering and generally horrible right-wing NUTTER politicians who seem intent on leading the US to economic, environmental and military disaster.

Democracy in America died yesterday.

No longer constrained by Democratic control of the Senate, Republican leaders offered an ambitious domestic agenda Wednesday that includes new tax cuts, drilling for oil in the Alaska wilderness and a new push for conservative judges.

Though President Bush remained out of public view as a matter of post- election "graciousness," according to his spokesman, aides said he views the victories as a grand opportunity to enact the "compassionate conservative" proposals that were the bedrock of his first six months in office.

"There's no question that last night's results increased the likelihood of getting things done for the American people," said White House spokesman Ari Fleischer. "There are so many initiatives that could have and should have been done in the last Congress that got bottled up and stopped, that now have a much stronger chance of getting done."

Democrats vowed to stand in the way of the most objectionable proposals, but conceded that the party is in for a difficult period where its own initiatives will have difficulty getting a hearing -- and its ability to block GOP proposals will be diminished.

Tycoon who believes security agents killed Diana and Dodi

by Mohamed Al Fayed

So the Queen finally came through for me.

Her warning to Paul Burrell has confirmed what I have been saying for the last five years.

By telling him to be "vigilant" so soon after the tragedy in Paris which took the lives of Diana and my son Dodi she was acknowledging her own deep suspicions.

Diana told me on more than one occasion of the malevolent influence of the security services in her affairs and of her very real fears that her life was under direct threat from them.

We know that the Queen, alone among the Royal Family, maintained a relationship with Diana after her divorce and it is highly likely that Diana also confided her fears to Her Majesty.

If, after Diana's death, Her Majesty then chose to warn Burrell about his own safety it indicates that she took Diana's fears seriously and had more than an inkling about what lay behind her death.

But who are these sinister forces?

World braces for 'triumphant' Bush.

The world now faces President George W. Bush triumphant after the midterm elections. His Republican Party is in command of both Houses of Congress, and Bush can claim a potent new mandate for an assertive foreign policy whose unilateralist "America First" implications have disconcerted friends and foes alike.

"We are dealing with a power that has no limit in its dealing with foreign issues," said Mohammed Shaker, head of the Egyptian Council on Foreign Relations, whose wariness of a Bush administration unrestrained by any other branch of government was widely shared beyond U.S. shores.

Diplomats in Washington Wednesday, while noting that the executive branch was always in charge of foreign policy, suggested that the Republican majorities in Congress would give the Bush administration even more self-assurance in foreign policy, and adding weight to its more hawkish voices and weakening the doves.

"My guess is that one of the losers of this election campaign might be (Secretary of State) Colin Powell, who has been seen by most foreign governments as a voice of caution and of wisdom in an administration that otherwise seems largely filled with hawks," commented one senior NATO diplomat based in Washington.

On The 2002 Midterm Elections

by Michael C. Ruppert

There are a multitude of dangling questions about Tuesday's election results. Widespread anecdotal accounts of voting irregularities, disenfranchised voters and absolutely accurate and, in many cases, understated criticisms of abysmal leadership from Tom Daschle and the Democratic Party are not difficult to find. While pundits are trying to spin that the Republicans don't have a blank check, the fact is that they do and will now use every ounce of leverage they can squeeze onto it. I totally agree with James Carville -- a less than likeable, ruthless, crusty, hard-ball operative from the Clinton years -- who said last night, "The American people just don't have a clue as to what's coming."

As I write, the biggest transport ships operated by the Navy have already or are now setting sail for the Middle East, laden with main battle tanks and all the equipment necessary for invasion. At Ft. Hood, Texas elements of the III Armored Corps and the 1st Air Cavalry are quietly leaving in small detachments.

The plot thickens...

Now we have the Queen giving Burrell warnings that his safety was potentially at risk due to his relationship with Diana. Curious, I must admit I had it written off as something dodgy. This whole case has me really perplexed; it's obvious that Burrell is a loyal guy, both to Diana and the Queen. However there are still large numbers of questions hanging in the air. If anyone knows where the "bodies" are buried it's Paul Burrell. He seems like a smart guy and if he really was party to a lot of Diana's secrets then he too must have questions about the circumstances of her death. If he has hard evidence of any "nefarious" activities then my guess is that he's given them to a lawyer or someone simillar with instructions that they are released in the event of something untoward happening to him or his family...?

Former Royal butler Paul Burrell has claimed the Queen warned him his closeness to Diana, Princess of Wales, could put his safety at risk.

He says the dramatic comments were made during the same three-hour meeting that, when eventually recalled by the Queen, triggered the collapse of his trial for theft last week.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper, for which he was paid £300,000, he says she told him: "There are powers at work in this country about which we have no knowledge."

Mr Burrell also claims that the Queen tried to build bridges with Diana before she died.

Zionists Made A Deal With The Devil

Before anyone starts throwing inane (and completely inaccurate and offensive) accusations of anti-semitism at me, please take a moment to read the codshit disclaimer.

by Henry Makow, Ph.D

Under the 1935 Nuremberg Laws, only two flags were permitted in Nazi Germany. One was the swastika. The other was the blue and white banner of Zionism.

According to Lenni Brenner's online book Zionism in the Age of Dictators (Ch.7), the Zionist party was the only other political party in Nazi Germany that enjoyed a measure of freedom, and could publish a newspaper. The reason: Zionists and Nazis had a common interest, making German Jews go to Palestine. (http://www.marxists.de/middleast/brenner/ch07.htm)

Why Blair is an appeaser

by George Monbiot

Fetch Tony Fetch.... Good boy.... Tony Blair's loyalty to George Bush looks like slow political suicide. His preparedness to follow him over every precipice jeopardises Britain's relationships with its allies, conjures up enemies all over the world and infuriates voters of all political colours. And yet he never misses an opportunity to show what a trusting friend he is.

There are several plausible and well-established explanations for this unnatural coupling. But there might also be a new one. Blair may have calculated that sticking to Bush is the only way in which our unsustainable economy can meet its need for energy.

Britain is running out of time. According to the Oil Depletion Analysis Centre the UK's North sea production has been declining since 1999. Nuclear power in Britain is, in effect, finished: on Saturday the EU revealed that it had prohibited the government's latest desperate attempt to keep it afloat with massive subsidies. But, partly because of corporate lobbying, partly because of his unhealthy fear of "Mondeo man" or "Worcester woman", or whatever the floating voter of Middle England has now become, Tony Blair has also flatly rejected both an effective energy reduction policy and a massive investment in alternative power. The only remaining way of meeting future energy demand is to import ever greater quantities of oil and gas.

John Pilger Interview

Readers should be aware that the Progressive magazine from whence this report came is funded -in part- by money from various organisations with Rockefeller connections and is edited by a chap called Matthew Rothschild. Click here for more information.

Corporate journalism in the United States preaches "objectivity" and scorns those who take the side of the dispossessed and disenfranchised. But the mainstream media in Britain makes a few allowances. John Pilger, the Australian-born, London-based journalist and filmmaker, is one.

"I grew up in Sydney in a very political household," Pilger told me, "where we were all for the underdog." His father was a Wobbly, a member of the Industrial Workers of the World. Like Orwell, whom he admires, Pilger has a direct style. For example, he uses the term "imperialism" and does not hesitate to attach it to the adjective "American."

He was a featured speaker at the mass peace rally in London on September 28. He told the crowd, estimated at between 150,000 and 350,000, "Today a taboo has been broken. We are the moderates. Bush and Blair are the extremists. The danger for all of us is not in Baghdad but in Washington." And he applauded the protesters. "Democracy," he told them, "is not one obsessed man using the power of kings to attack another country in our name. Democracy is not siding with Ariel Sharon, a war criminal, in order to crush Palestinians. Democracy is this great event today representing the majority of the people of Great Britain.

Bali Micro Nuke - Army Officer Reported Accurate Details

Then the Australian Government demanded that his report be removed!

Australian Army officer Rodney Cox was less than fifty meters from ground zero when the bomb exploded, but survived presumably because he was in the "null zone" below the rising diagonal blast vector from the buried weapon. Captain Cox was then put in command of operations to evacuate the injured. He tells a harrowing tale, with some of his most chilling and revealing statements including, "“Then the power cut... all the power went out. I didn’t think bomb, I didn’t think anything at that stage. And then, probably, I’d say two seconds later... not even two seconds later, there was just the huge flash, and I was just covered in glass, put on the ground, and it just started ... it was like hell on earth.”

By stating that the power cut preceded the flash, Captain Cox unwittingly confirmed the critical nuclear identity of the weapon. We know that the small bomb in Paddy's bar ten seconds earlier caused only localized damage, and we now know that all of the electrical circuits in Kuta Beach were disrupted by the Source Region Electromagnetic Pulse [SREMP] emitted by the micro nuke at the point of criticality. The pulse travels through all mediums at the speed of light, and Cox noted the power cut immediately before witnessing the "huge flash" of the fireball as it burst up through the road surface. Captain Cox's recollections were printed on the front page of the Australian Army Newspaper, which in turn was placed on the Australian Army web site.

This did not please the Australian Government [for obvious reasons], and reliable sources state that the Army was ordered to remove the web page on ministerial orders, which it did. Then apparently less than 12 hours later a very senior officer countermanded the order, and insisted the page be restored. It was... Not being sure who will ultimately win this battle of the titans, I have reproduced this important story below, with correct credits and a link to the Army web site. If in the end the politicians win, there will always be a copy of the story here to fall back on.

Florida Election Fraud Again... who would have guessed?

by voxfux

Scores of reports are accumulating in the early hours of the Florida Governor’s race, indicating wide scale election fraud and election rigging. Callers are reporting to the popular Florida radio talk show, The Neil Rodgers Show that when they selected McBride, the Democrat, the machines instead registered a vote for Bush. Wide scale machine "breakdowns" reported throughout Democratic strongholds in Orange, Brevard and Seminole counties. Republican districts appear to be enjoying a speedy and efficient polling day.

The religious orders who control through their proxy intelligence agencies here in America have instituted completely computerized touch screen voting machines in many counties now - Severing once and for all the last remaining connection between a vote and any physical evidence of that vote. In the past, we at least had piles of real hard evidence in the form of physical ballots to fight over - now there is nothing. Just a US intelligence agency, CIA, to assure us that everything is all right and going as planned.

Physical ballots with all their chads and imperfections were at least a physical entity and so required considerably more effort and risk to alter. But now there is only a proprietary secret software program which no one except US intelligence can control which determines if the button you press registers a vote for the particular lying scumbag politician you selected or whether the machine, “Glitches,” and places your vote, instead, for the lying scumbag politician you didn’t select.

Since there has never been a computer system which has not been hacked, what makes us think that these systems cannot be hacked? And since we do not know the officers of the British based company who owns the American Based company who makes the machines, how do we know that they are beyond corruption? Seems we are learning each day that in fact more corporations than we previously imagined are involved in wide scale corruption, so why not the corporation who makes the polling machines?

The Hastening American Decline: Transfer of the American Industrial Base

by Allan Billings

The transfer of the American industrial base to remote regions of the planet continues, especially to China. It is inescapable that the militarization of some of those regions to protect the prodigious capitalist investment must logically follow. In particular, the transfer of the American industrial base to China has already enabled them to radically improve their military strength, very often with American technology. This is a very ominous development for the American people and progressive societies everywhere. Globalysts are enemies of western democracies and have strong fascist tendencies. The Chinese economic model is the dream of all capitalists and the nightmare of everybody else.

America and the other western nations are at once the crucible of the Globalyst and elitist ruling class but are also the only societies that could put a check on their worldly ambitions. It is the western societies that have provided their people with the power of the vote, constitutional law and mass education. It is these societies that are the greatest threat to the ruling class's ambition of establishing world dominion in the very near future. Therefore it follows that western culture will be and is under assault on several fronts. In support of the above let me provide certain well-known facts and also suggest some room for thought.

Turkey's voters have delivered the 'wrong' result

by Robert Fisk

After the Taliban's chums enter the Pakistan parliament, the Islamists are back in Turkey. Who said that fundamentalism is dead? No, the victory of Turkey's Justice and Development Party (AKP) is not a specifically anti-American vote – corruption and economic collapse produced its 350 seats in the 540-seat Turkish parliament. But opposition to corruption and economic collapse lay behind the Pakistani vote, too. Indeed, it is the foundation for almost every Islamist opposition vote in the Middle East, the desire to destroy the cancer which infects almost every pro-American regime in the region.

President George Bush, riding the Iraqi war cry in his mid-term election campaign yesterday, will not have spent more than a few seconds – if that – reflecting on the meaning of Turkey's election results. For this is a country that not only opposes his Iraqi adventure but has made it very clear that, in the event of hostilities, the Turkish army will move into Kurdish northern Iraq to prevent the declaration of a Kurdish state. So much for "safe havens".

Rumsfeld Planning To Encourage Deadly Terror Attacks On US

This column stands foursquare with the Honorable Donald Rumsfeld, U.S. Defense Secretary, when he warns that there will be more terrorist attacks against the American people and civilization at large. We know, as does the Honorable Donald Rumsfeld, U.S. Defense Secretary, that this statement is an incontrovertible fact, a matter of scientific certainty. And how can we and the Honorable Donald Rumsfeld, U.S. Defense Secretary, be so sure that there will be more terrorist attacks against the American people and civilization at large?

Because these attacks will be instigated at the order of the Honorable Donald Rumsfeld, U.S. Defense Secretary.

This astonishing admission was buried deep in a story, which was itself submerged by mounds of gray newsprint and glossy underwear ads in last Sunday's Los Angeles Times. There -- in an article by military analyst William Arkin detailing the vast expansion of the secret armies being massed by the former Nixon bureaucrat now lording it over the Pentagon -- came the revelation of Rumsfeld's plan to create "a super-Intelligence Support Activity" that will "bring together CIA and military covert action, information warfare, intelligence and cover and deception."

Sharon eyes 'Samson option' against Iraq

This is probably one of the scariest news stories I have ever read...

In biblical times, the Israelites relied on God to triumph over their enemies. These days the Israeli government puts its faith in the godlike power of its formidable arsenal of nuclear weapons to annihilate its foes.

The alarming prospect of Israel unleashing its weapons of mass destruction is high on the list of concerns of strategic planners and analysts as the United States prepares to attack Iraq as part of its ‘War on Terror’.

According to experts, a retaliatory nuclear strike against Baghdad in the event of a chemical or biological weapons attack against Israel has never been more likely - particularly with Ariel Sharon in power.

Saddam Hussein has good cause to think twice about going a step further than he did during the Gulf War in 1991, when 39 conventionally-armed Scud missiles were fired against Israel. If he uses biological or chemical weapons, the consequence could be that he and his country would be obliterated...

During the conflict in 1991 the US struck a deal with Israel’s then prime minister, Yitzhak Shamir, not to retaliate, arguing that to do so would shatter the Arab coalition. But Shamir’s restraint was not met with universal support. One of the leading dissenters was Sharon, who claimed Israel was abandoning responsibility for defending its citizens.
