Sleek silver bird

Bright sunny morning
not a cloud in the sky.
Under blue sky and bird-song
the morning begins in the city.
People hustle to catch the subway,
carrying coffees and papers.
The business pages and the 'toons;
a wonderfully normal day.

As work begins in the Tower,
the phonecalls come in
and the switchboard lights up.
The faxes start humming
and everyone has mail.
Suddenly a flash of light,
some heads turn just in time...
just in time to see the plane,
a sleek, silver missile
streaking towards them.
Closer and closer...

There's no time to run
no point in hiding.
They stand there staring mutely.
As the silver bird gets larger and larger
a murmur is heard as they realise
the cockpit is empty.
They died for a lie,
they died for the greed,
they died and now we kill in their names.

The Other Shoe

Pessimistic but not far off reality, unfortunately.

America Built A Prison And Put The World On Death Row

by John Kaminski

Uncle Sam wants YOU to die for big business My life is like a cage of pain. Oh, I'm healthy enough for my age, though I eat too much junk and don't exercise enough. I talk to the most brilliant people, caring people, the ones most aghast at the way the world has become a slick cistern of vicious lies, where the truth is what powerful men say it is, and the old values like honor and sacrifice are laughed at by teenage boys boogie boarding in the surf and trying to figure out a way to live their lives without working. In this still warm November sunshine, trudging aimlessly along a pristine beach, amid shorebirds scurrying for their next meal, I feel like I am on Death Row.

Of course, I am embarrassed to say this, with my easy life and available contentment all around me. I am shamed by men like Ernst Zundel, who languishes in his tiny prison cell in Canada, abused by callous guards and corrupt judges, who can speak of the noble nature of mankind and how it is time to organize that urge and rise up against the maniacs who enslave us with their jingoistic doublespeak. How can he, who has so little, see so much freedom, and how can I, who have so much, feel so imprisoned?

Sometimes I imagine I am living the life of the world, and try my darnedest to see where it is going, where things are headed. I haven't seen any dolphins this year, all year. Used to be, last year and before, I'd see them everytime I looked out to sea. But red tide's been in all summer. Shouldn't swim in it. Get a sore throat. But usually it doesn't smell like it sometimes does, when it makes you cough. The blight doesn't keep the tourists away. They're happy enough to have escaped the snows of New Jersey. But it miss my dolphins. It's not a good sign.

And I miss other things, too. Yes, of course that girl who lit my life but insisted I was lying. That's probably a lump of coal that will never leave my throat. But I miss my country, too, the one I was taught to believe meant liberty and justice for all. What a joke that was, when you finally get around to reading how George Washington slaughtered Indians in Ohio or American soldiers went around executing peasants in Vietnam without anybody ever hearing about it until 40 years later.

Of course, of course, and about American soldiers murdering innocent families in Iraq. Operation Iraqi Freedom, right? Freedom from life, is what.

I miss my country, the one I was taught I had. I think soon, too, I will miss my planet, given the condition of the fractured ionosphere, the particulated air, the poisoned oceans, and the toxic soil. (A friend put her hands in her garden in a well-heeled Sarasota subdivision recently and came out with chemical burns that took weeks to heel.) This is not to even mention the radioactivity being spread around the planet. You know. It's in the bullets. Oh yes, and also in the sperm of the soldiers who come home in one piece.

In the bright sunshine, dimmed somewhat by those curious chemtrails in the sky, I feel like I am on Death Row. And it's more than the doctrinaire existential dilemma of turning 59. Death from old age would be a comfort to look forward to. It's just that more and more I feel hope is being systematically removed from the world. That a great extermination is about to take place. And, through my inattention to things economic and my willingness to speak about my dreams, I am in the lead phalanx on America's inexorable death march toward Camp Ashcroft.

Others I talk to share my malaise. I hope they have more food in their cupboards than I do. But they, too, will face this moment.

It was compelling to read the other day of the interview in Cigar Aficionado magazine of retired Gen. Tommy Franks saying one more terrorist attack in this country and all Constitutional guarantees will be terminated. It is one of the great satisfactions of my life that ten minutes after the so-called terrorist attacks of 9/11, I exclaimed: "This was an inside job!" It's nice to have been proven right, even though a majority of Americans have yet to catch up with the obvious evidence.

Looking forward to that first Red Alert, where nobody will be allowed to leave their homes, and the military will come around, checking out everybody, house by house, no doubt dragging a few away kicking and screaming. Or, maybe they'll sedate you on the spot.

US PRESS SUPPRESSES BUSH LAWSUIT

MAJOR MEDIA COMPLICIT IN THE CONTINUING COVERUP OF THE NWO'S ATTACKS OF 9-11

by David Kubiak

"The decision 'not to do the story' appears to be multiplying all over the nation." -- Fred Powledge, ACLU

A Grieving New Hampshire widow who lost her man on 9/11 refuses the government's million dollar hush money payoff, studies the facts of the day for nearly two years, and comes to believe the White House "intentionally allowed 9/11 to happen" to launch a so-called "War on Terrorism" for personal and political gain.

She retains a prominent lawyer, a former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania, who served with distinction under both Democrats and Republicans and was once a strong candidate for the governor's seat.

The attorney files a 62-page complaint in federal district court (including 40 pages of prima facie evidence) charging that "President Bush and officials including, but not limited to Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Ashcroft and Tenet":

1.) had adequate foreknowledge of 911 yet failed to warn the county or attempt to prevent it;

2.) have since been covering up the truth of that day;

3.) have therefore abetted the murder of plaintiff's husband and violated the Constitution and multiple laws of the United States; and

4.) are thus being sued under the Civil RICO (Racketeering, Influence, and Corrupt Organization) Act for malfeasant conspiracy, obstruction of justice and wrongful death.

The suit text goes on to document the detailed forewarnings from foreign governments and FBI agents; the unprecedented delinquency of our air defense; the inexplicable half hour dawdle of our Commander in Chief at a primary school after hearing the nation was under deadly attack; the incessant invocation of national security and executive privilege to suppress the facts; and the obstruction of all subsequent efforts to investigate the disaster. It concludes that "compelling evidence will be presented in this case through discovery, subpoena power, and testimony [that] Defendants failed to act and prevent 9/11 knowing the attacks would lead to an 'International War on Terror' which would benefit Defendants both financially and politically."

Press releases detailing these explosive allegations are sent out to 3000 journalists in the print and broadcast media, and a press conference to announce the filing is held in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia on November 26th (commemorating the end of the first futile year of the independent National 9/11 Commission).

Imagine the world-churning implications of these charges. Imagine the furor if just one was proved true. Imagine the courage of this bribe-shunning widow and an eminent attorney with his reputation on the line. Then imagine a press conference to which nobody came.

(Well, more precisely, imagine a press conference at which only FOX News appears, tapes for 40 minutes, and never airs an inch.)

Now imagine the air time, column inches and talk show hysteria that same night devoted to the legal hassles of Michael, Kobe, and Scott Peterson, and divide that by the attention paid to our little case of mass murder, war profiteering and treason. (OK, this is really a trick question because no number divided by zero yields any answers whatsoever, which evidently in this case is the result preferred.)

When you present documented charges of official treachery behind the greatest national security disaster in modern history and the press doesn't show, doesn't listen, doesn't write - just what in fact is really being communicated? That despite all the deaths, lies, wars, and bizarre official actions that flowed from 9/11 there's actually nothing there to be investigated at all? That addressing desperate victim families' still unanswered cries for truth is not a legitimate journalistic concern? That news will now be what the corporate media say it will be, so drink your infotainment Kool-Aid and kindly shut up?

(While the 9/11 blackout is the most flagrant sign of current media dysfunction, it hardly stands alone. Where, for example, was our free and press when Pentagon powerbroker Richard Perle confessed to a London audience last month that yes indeed, our war on Iraq was illegal as hell? He calmly explained that "in this case international law stood in the way of doing the right thing?| [it] would have required us to leave Saddam Hussein alone, and this would have been morally unacceptable."

(Guardian/UK, 11/20/03) And what news have we seen of the thousands of Depleted Uranium deaths and birth defects now desolating Afghanis, Iraqis and our own Gulf War troops? And whose looking into the $1.2 trillion the Pentagon admits is "missing" or the half trillion in laundered funds now propping up our banks? And how many times have you seen it reported that unbid Iraq contracts have pushed the worth of VP Cheney's 433,333 Halliburton stock options to $26 million plus? But to return to 9/11, the funny business has just begun. If you thought press performance after JFK's death was a cynical farce, you ain't seen nothing yet.)

A few years back Harold Evans of the London Sunday Times, observed that the challenge facing American newspapers "is not to stay in business -- it is to stay in journalism.'' As corporations' authoritarian, profit-driven consciousness comes to dominate both media and governance, you can expect a lot more serial celebrity scandals and even less news on the way things work or anything that really counts. There is a clear method and message in this obscurantist madness. All this media consolidation and tightening control is strategically aligned with deregulation, privatization, social program-gutting deficits and free trade regimes. They are all convergent tactics to enforce corporations' full spectrum dominance over democratic humankind. If your progressive or conservative instincts bid you to arise against this coup, standing with our 9/11 widow is a good place to start. Her name is Ellen Mariani, her lawyer is Phillip Berg and their complaint is now online at http://www.nancho.net/911/mariani.html. Read it and weep, wail, or whack out a dozen letters to the editors around your town, but for god's sake make some noise. When 9/11 bombshells fall silent in the corporate media's forest it's up to us to make them resound.

W. David Kubiak is director of Big Medicine, a research and education institute studying the corporate takeover of our country, culture and consciousness.

Europe at risk of Bin Laden Xmas attack

Here they go again, ramping up the fear trying to keep us all nice and docile. I tell you what, IF something did happen in Europe over Christmas, the last people I would be looking to as culprits would be Muslim extremist nutters! I think there are plenty of other terrorists out there who are far more hazardous to the health of all of us. The real perpetrators will be the people who have the most to gain from all of this internecine conflagration, certainly more than phony-pants bin Laden and his not-so-merry mountain goats. I don't buy any of it. If we are in danger then it's the fault of the much-vaunted "security" services who created bin Laden, trained him, financed him and sold him weapons. We have spent years messing around in other people's countries and pissing everyone and his wife off and now it looks like it's coming back to bite us on the arse, that's called karma. Anyway, who's to say Ouseenme bin Laden isn't still working for them and all this is just a ruse to get the populations of Europe and North America and Israel and Australia so afraid they will give up their freedom because they are told it will make them "safer". Surely you can see the inherent danger extant in such a blatantly Orwellian proposition...? "Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength" remember!?!?!?!

I can see it now, George Orwell is looking down on us with Aldous Huxley saying; "Can you believe it Aldous? We tried to warn those dumbfucks about what was going on, but they didn't listen even though most of them read our books at school!"
To which Aldous replies, "I know George but at the end of the day if they want to be slaves, fuck 'em. Now pass me another one of those mushrooms and lets leave those stupid idiots to stew in that mess they're cooking up down there."

Obey! Italy and other European countries are at risk of terrorist attacks by Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda network during the Christmas holiday period, the head of the Afghan secret service warned in an interview published on Tuesday.

"There is a threat if terrorist attacks over Christmas in Italy and other European countries but also in Afghanistan," general Niamat Ullah Jalilly was quoted as saying in the Corriere della Sera newspaper.

"Osama bin Laden is alive," he went on. "We have our sources and intelligence reports said he was last month in Chitral," a mountainous province in the far north-west of Pakistan bordering on Afghanistan.

Jalilly said Al-Qaeda was now "really run" by Abdel Rahman Khodri, one of three of bin Laden's lieutenants who were "far more dangerous" than the movement's founder. He identified the others as Ayman Muhammad al-Zawahiri and Muhammad Shawky al-Islambouli.

Jalilly said there were still about 2000 members Al-Qaeda and of the Taliban, the Islamic militia which formerly ran Afghanistan, in his country.

US fires Guantanamo defence team

Looks like the defence team was spending too much time defending their clients and watching out for their interests... Uncle Sam just loves democracy so much he oozes it from every orifice.

A team of military lawyers recruited to defend alleged terrorists held by the US at Guantanamo Bay was dismissed by the Pentagon after some of its members rebelled against the unfair way the trials have been designed, the Guardian has learned.

And some members of the new legal defence team remain deeply unhappy with the trials - known as "military commissions" - believing them to be slanted towards the prosecution and an affront to modern US military justice.

Of the more than 600 detainees at the US prison camp at Guantanamo, none has been charged with any crime, and none has had access to a lawyer, although some have been in captivity of one kind or another for two years.

But the US has repeatedly promised that at least some of the prisoners will be charged and tried by military commissions, an arcane form of tribunal based on long-disused models from the 1940s.

When charged, a prisoner will be assigned a uniformed military defence lawyer. The prisoners have a theoretical right to a civilian lawyer, but the US has placed financial and bureaucratic obstacles in the way of this.

A former military lawyer with good contacts in the US military legal establishment said that the first group of defence lawyers the Pentagon recruited for Guantanamo balked at the commission rules, which insist, among other restrictions, that the government be allowed to listen in to any conversations between attorney and client.

"There was a circular that went out to military lawyers in the early spring of 2003 which said 'we are looking for volunteers' for defence counsel," said the ex-military lawyer. "There was a selection process, and the people they selected were the right people, they had the right credentials, they were good lawyers.

"The first day, when they were being briefed on the dos and don'ts, at least a couple said: 'You can't impose these restrictions on us because we can't properly represent our clients.'

"When the group decided they weren't going to go along, they were relieved. They reported in the morning and got fired that afternoon."

"We're air force pilots, not mafia. We don't take revenge"

Just in case you were thinking I'm anti-Jewish or anti-Israel, I'M NOT! I'm anti-Fascism and anti-War. Sharon is a liability to Israel and the world, since the assasination of Yitzak Rabin the Israeli government has put their country on a path of conflict. To deny that is to deny the obvious and ignore history. No-one is innocent, not the Palestinians nor the Israelis, they behave like children drunk on the power that having a big gun gives you. The ordinary citizens on both sides are mere cannon-fodder to the likes of Arafat and Sharon. War-mongering evil bastards, both of them.

Israel's F-16 and Black Hawk refuseniks say why they could not obey illegal orders and kill innocent Palestinians

For two months, a rebel group of Israeli Black Hawk helicopter and F-16 fighter pilots has been denounced as traitors for saying they will no longer bomb Palestinian cities.

Until now they have maintained a resolute silence on their motives, preferring to limit their criticism of Ariel Sharon's war to a letter signed by 27 reserve and active duty pilots refusing to carry out what they described as illegal orders, and denouncing the occupation as eating at the moral fabric of Israel.

Now, having been thrown out of the air force, they are talking publicly about what brought members of the most revered branch of the Israeli military to make an unprecedented challenge to the handling of the conflict with the Palestinians.

"I served more than seven years as a pilot," said Captain Alon R, who, like all the younger pilots, hopes to return to combat flying and so declines to use his full name in order to retain his security clearance. "In the beginning, we were pilots who believed our country would do all it could to achieve peace. We believed in the purity of our arms and that we did all we could to prevent unnecessary loss of life.

"Somewhere in the last few years it became harder and harder to believe that is the case."

The line was crossed for most of the pilots with the dropping of the one-tonne bomb last year on the home of a Hamas military leader, Salah Shehade, killing him and 14 of his family, mostly children.

One captain described the bombing as deliberate killing, murder even. Another called it state terrorism, though some colleagues swiftly stomped on that interpretation. But they all agreed that the attack sowed the doubts that resulted a year later in the letter that sent shockwaves through the Israeli military.

"The Shehade incident was a red light for us, a final warning," said Capt Alon R. "With Shehade I began to re-evaluate my beliefs. We killed 14 innocent people, nine of them children. After my commander gave an interview in which he said he sleeps well at night and his men can do the same. Well, I can't. We refused to see it as an innocent mistake."

The Doomsday Machine

by John Chuckman

It occurred to me to write a satire about Osama and the boys sitting around in the mountains somewhere holding a conference about the worst possible damage they could inflict on the United States and deciding that it would be whatever act got Bush re-elected.

But retired American General Tommy Franks came along and spoiled the fun. General Franks has followed the advice of the fictional Doctor Strangelove by announcing to the world what he believes will happen if the United States is attacked by terrorists using strategic weapons: he says Americans will scrap the Constitution and set up a military government... If you recall the bitter and hilarious Cold War film, Dr. Strangelove, there is a scene where the Soviet ambassador puts down the phone to Moscow, groaning about "The fools, oh, the mad fools," and then informs the American President and Pentagon brass for the first time of the Doomsday Machine. The Doomsday Machine, he explains to those gathered in a desperate effort to stop an unauthorized attack launched by a lunatic American wing commander, is an automated device that, once set, cannot be prevented from responding to any attack by releasing an earth-straddling cloud of deadly radiation.

Doctor Strangelove, a character based on captured scientists and others from Nazi Germany who rose to high places in the American government during the Cold War, shrieks from his wheelchair, struggling to control the tendency of his right arm to rise in the Hitler salute, what is the good of such a deterrent if no one is told about it?

Indeed, so General Franks has warned us. Considering the wholesale insanity we've witnessed since 9/11, there is little reason to doubt the general's judgment.

Many Americans would not be frightened by the idea of military government. After all, they receive a steady diet of sappy stuff about "our boyz." But if you look at what the boys have been doing lately in Iraq and recall the atrocities of Vietnam, any warm, cozy expectation of being ruled by the likes of Jimmy Stewart in khakis vanishes.

For many reasons, democracy always has had a tenuous hold in America. Its history as a democracy where almost everyone can vote only goes back several decades, and as we saw in Florida during the last presidential election, that basic principle is not yet firmly entrenched. The adolescent nature of much of American culture - exhibited in a thousand ways from endless movies about muscle-bound superheroes to the flag-waving spectacles made of football games - reveals an attraction to fascism, fascism being merely an adult form of adolescent fantasies about power.

It is not difficult at all to imagine democracy's hold being quickly snapped, especially where dark, exaggerated fears are involved, such fears also being a prominent feature of American culture. Consider the millions of Christian fundamentalists who fervently embrace the notion that earth faces imminent destruction in an Armageddon. Just a few years ago, as the calendar turned to the year 2000, millions of secular crackpots, the militia/survivalist types, stocked ammunition and freeze-dried rations in a modern-day repeat of the fallout shelter lunacy of the 1950s. There have been countless gatherings on mountaintops to await the "end of time" and many bizarre mass suicides. America, reflecting its unpleasant Puritan heritage, almost certainly leads the advanced world in holding to voodoo-like fears.

The impact of an American military government on the world would be incalculable. Treaties, agreements, diplomatic conventions all might effectively be suspended since it is the Constitution that gives foreign treaties their primacy in law within the United States. International borders effectively could be erased since few are in a position to prevent the American military's taking whatever arbitrary measure it pleases. The United Nations might well be dismissed as an unnecessary expense and a security risk.

Huge, destabilizing uncertainties would be introduced into world markets. The flow of international capital would be affected. A world depression could easily be induced. After all, it was poorly-considered American law, the Smoots-Hawley Tariff, that helped create the Great Depression.

The military-service draft would certainly be re-introduced.

America's war on nature

Not content with raping and exploiting people, the Bushies are also raping and exploiting the planet. But I suppose that's what being the Heir to the Throne of the Kingdom of Bastards entails.

For decades, US corporate interests have systematically sabotaged efforts to protect the environment. But the Bush years have seen the polluters encouraged to despoil as never before.

George Bush will go down in history as America's worst environmental president. In a ferocious three-year attack, the Bush administration has initiated more than 200 major rollbacks of America's environmental laws, weakening the protection of our country's air, water, public lands and wildlife. Cloaked in meticulously crafted language designed to deceive the public, the administration intends to eliminate the nation's most important environmental laws by the end of the year. Under the guidance of the Republican pollster Frank Luntz, the Bush White House has hidden its anti-environmental programme behind deceptive rhetoric, telegenic spokespeople, secrecy and the intimidation of scientists and bureaucrats.

The Bush attack was not entirely unexpected. George Bush had the grimmest environmental record of any governor during his tenure in Texas. Texas became No 1 in air and water pollution and in the release of toxic chemicals. In his six years in Austin, Bush championed a short-term pollution-based prosperity, which enriched his political contributors and corporate cronies by lowering the quality of life for everyone else. Now President Bush is set to do the same to America. After three years, his policies are already bearing fruit.

I am angry both as a citizen and a father. Three of my sons have asthma, and I watch them struggle to breathe on bad-air days. And they are comparatively lucky: one in four African-American children in New York shares this affliction; their suffering is often unrelieved because they lack the insurance and high-quality healthcare that keep my sons alive. My kids are among the millions of Americans who cannot enjoy the seminal American experience of fishing locally with their dad and eating their catch. Most freshwater fish in New York, and all in Connecticut, are now under consumption advisories. A main source of mercury pollution in America, as well as asthma-provoking ozone and particulates, is the coal-burning power plants that President Bush recently excused from complying with the Clean Air Act.

Furthermore, the deadly addiction to fossil fuels that White House policies encourage has squandered our treasury, entangled us in foreign wars, diminished our international prestige, made us a target for terrorist attacks and increased our reliance on petty Middle Eastern dictators who are hated by their own people.

When the Republican right managed to install George Bush as President in 2000, the movement's leaders once again set about doing what they had attempted to do since the Reagan years: to eviscerate the infrastructure of laws and regulations that protect the environment. For 25 years it has been like the zombie that keeps coming back from the grave.

The attacks began on Inauguration Day, when Bush's chief of staff and former General Motors lobbyist Andrew Card quietly initiated a moratorium on all recently adopted regulations. Since then, the White House has enlisted every federal agency that oversees environmental programmes in a co-ordinated effort to relax rules aimed at the oil, coal, logging, mining and chemical industries as well as car-makers, real-estate developers, corporate agribusiness and other industries.

This onslaught is being co-ordinated through the White House Office of Management and Budget - or, more precisely, OMB's Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, under the direction of John Graham, the engine-room mechanic of the Bush stealth strategy. Graham's speciality is promoting changes in scientific and economic assumptions that underlie regulation - such as recalculating cost-benefit analyses to favour polluters. Before the White House, Graham was founding director of the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis, where he received funding from America's champion corporate polluters: Dow Chemical, DuPont, Monsanto, Alcoa, Exxon, General Electric and General Motors.

Penalties imposed for environmental violations have plummeted under Bush. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed eliminating 270 enforcement staffers, which would reduce staff levels to the lowest ever. Inspections of polluting businesses have dipped by 15 per cent. Criminal cases referred for federal prosecution have dropped by 40 per cent.

The EPA measures its success by the amount of pollution reduced or prevented as a result of its own actions. Last year, the EPA's two most senior career enforcement officials resigned after decades of service. They cited the administration's refusal to carry out environmental laws.

Soham Murder Trial Update

Hmmm, codshit access stats show a lot of interest in this story coming from the Lakenheath AFB domain, someone is showing a keen interest... More from Joe about the Soham murder trial, make up your own minds as to whether you believe him or not.

"No hairs from Holly Wells or Jessica Chapman recovered from 5 College Close; no blood from Holly Wells or Jessica Chapman recovered from 5 College Close; no fingerprints from Holly Wells or Jessica Chapman recovered from 5 College Close, save for those on the [portable] box of Celebration chocolates [reference made to that already]; no hairs from either Holly Wells or Jessica Chapman recovered from the Ford Fiesta, no blood from either Holly Wells or Jessica Chapman recovered from the Fiesta; no fingerprints from Holy Wells or Jessica Chapman were recovered from the Fiesta in August 2002" - Formal Admissions by the Prosecution, 1 December 2003

by Joe Vialls

On Monday 1 December 2003, Ian Huntley finally took the stand in Court Number One at the Old Bailey in London. Though he was shaking visibly and kept flicking his tongue around, Huntley managed to answer most of his defense counsels questions, which seemed to have a great deal in common with those of the prosecution. The court transcripts show defense counsel Mr Coward asking an aggressive series of questions designed only to incriminate Huntley out of his own mouth, so to speak, with not a single question designed to consign this entire pack of fabricated lies to the waste bin.

In brief [because a full analysis will follow after Christmas], Huntley admitted that the two girls were in his house, admitted there was an accident in the bathroom during which both girls unfortunately died, and further admitted driving their bodies out to Lakenheath for disposal in a drainage ditch. When asked it he had attempted to remove any of the girls clothing either on the way or when he dumped them at Lakenheath, Huntley indignantly retorted No, not at all. By his own account he then returned to Soham where he disposed of the two red Manchester United T-shirts in a bin at Soham College. So here we have a man without any red T-shirts in his possession, who nonetheless manages to burn some at Soham College the very same night. It is OK to be puzzled here, because we will return to this point later.

When repeatedly asked if he had returned to the disposal site later on 7 August 2003, Huntley was very firm. No he did not, because he and girlfriend Maxine had gone away to his Nans during this period. No, he never returned to the Lakenheath site, which is unfortunate for the prosecution and defense, who already have two distinctly different access points to the disposal site, made on two entirely different days. Obviously it would be better if Huntley admitted both, but unfortunately the Rampton-induced False memory Syndrome was too simplistic, with no leeway for sudden changes in the rehearsed story.

While still locked into the same false memory early in the day, Huntley also admitted that he remembered all these details at the time of the deaths in August 2002, had desperately wanted to tell Maxine about what had happened, but did not know how to do so. The entire story was obviously untrue, and forensically impossible, but it was what Huntley had come to believe was the truth. There was no doubting his pathetic sincerity.

The actual truth came later in the day, in a curious exchange that you can rest assured the mainstream media will bury forever, because it provides a startling insight into how Ian Huntley was handled at Rampton, and how his real truth was exchanged for a carefully structured set of lies.

During the afternoon for no apparent reason, Coward QC suddenly asked, Whilst you were at Rampton [a period of time lasting from 21 August to 8 October 2002], what did you remember of the events of the night of the 4th August? Huntleys reply was enlightening: Nothing. I remember that some - I'm not sure if I remembered at Rampton or shortly after arriving at Wood Hill that Holly had a nosebleed, but that is as far as my recollection..

Remember this point in the proceeding very carefully, because it proves that when not sticking to the carefully rehearsed False Memory story earlier in the day, Huntley is still capable of remembering he knew nothing about his alleged guilt, until after he was forcibly admitted to the mental institution at Rampton.

Prompted by Coward, Huntley tried to explain further. I had been trying pretty much everyday to try and remember what had happened on the 4th August. I knew inside that I wasn't there [in Rampton] for no reason and I knew that something must have happened, but didn't know what, I had been seeing all kinds of things, for example, I had seen the girls leaving my house or thought I had seen the girls leaving my house and the psychiatrist said that was a coping mechanism and I was just seeing what I wanted to see. it was driving me mad trying to, trying to remember and nothing coming. (inaudible).

So here we are at the very beginning of the Rampton-induced False Memory Syndrome. Huntleys brain is telling him that he wasnt there for no reason, which is a perfectly reasonably thought. After all, how many of us could wake up in a padded cell and automatically assume we were innocent of any misdemeanor?

Then, after liberally drugging him with neuroleptics, the psychiatrists started to tell Huntley that the real truth he could actually remember, i.e. of having done nothing wrong at all, was only a coping mechanism protecting him from the real truth of his terrible guilt. These techniques were used all the time in the Soviet Gulag Archipelago in the sixties, but this time around were being applied to Ian Huntley behind the forbidding walls of a thoroughly British mental institution, on British Government orders.

It is hard to imagine this torment being inflicted on a genuinely perceived enemy of the State academic, let alone a blue-collar caretaker from Soham village in Cambridgeshire. Every time I get emails from self-righteous politically-correct little sods saying, Look, you were wrong, Huntley has confessed, I have a strong urge to throw them over the wall at Rampton ,to see how long they could withstand the combined drug and emotional pressure in Great Britains new revised version of the Gulag. Huntley described that terrible pressure to the court:

I say things started coming back after a few weeks, there wasn't just one day couldn't remember and the next day I could. It was very slow, a bit like a jig-saw puzzle, first of all I started hearing the voice and the voice was, "You pushed her", and thought that I must have pushed her down the stairs or something. It was very difficult to piece things together, and it was also difficult at times to know the difference between reality and imagination. I had problems with imagining things and things I wanted to see, and the way I determined the difference was that the reality - if there was emotion attached to it - you could sort of feel; you could feel what you was feeling at the time.

And as the days turned into weeks, the crazed shrinks in Rampton quietly plied Ian Huntley with higher and higher does of neuroleptic drugs [remember the unmistakable media symptoms?], and then those same shrinks helped the poor man to piece things together. A little bit here and a little bit there, until the real truth of his innocence was overwhelmed and finally crushed completely, by a thick layer of freshly-manufactured psychiatric lies.

Many people have asked me why, if Huntley could be made to confess to accidentally killing the girls, he could not be made to plead guilty to murder instead, thereby removing any potentially risky requirement for a high-profile trial at the Old Bailey. The simple answer is that asking Huntley to plead guilty to murder would not have worked, because such an admission would have been in direct conflict with his subconscious moral code. This conflict is well known to all clinical psychologists.

Even drugged up to the eyeballs as we now know he was, it is almost inconceivable that Huntley would have agreed to plead guilty to murder, wittingly or otherwise. But getting him to agree that he acted as a guardian angel to the girls [i.e. helping with a nosebleed] would have been relatively easy, with the unfortunate fatal accident slowly fed into his memory over extended time, and the shrinks were rapidly given all the extended time they needed by the British Government.

In true Gulag fashion, the shrinks also had another more potent weapon to use against Ian Huntley, in the form of the woman he loved, Maxine Carr, who at that time was being horribly abused in the hellhole called Holloway Prison. No doubt is was pointed out to Huntley, that if he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of conspiring to pervert the course of justice for failing to report Holly and Jessicas accident to police, this in turn would prove his beloved Maxine was innocent of any crime, meaning that she would eventually be set free.

There is a little bit of the Sir Galahad in most males, and there are thousands of examples of men being killed by sword, arrow or bullet, as they tried desperately to protect their spouses from harm. Fundamentally, this is what males are born to do, and the chance to save his Maxine, would have been as overwhelming for Ian Huntley as for any other man throughout the ages.

All of this activity inside Rampton helps to explain the inexplicable, i.e. how Huntley made the mistake of saying that he came straight back from Lakenheath on 4 August 2002 and immediately placed the red Manchester United T-shirts in the bin at Soham College. This can now be understood as a simple lack of communication between those making up the cover story and planting evidence around Soham, and the folk inside Rampton torturing Ian Huntley. The Rampton False Memory had to be kept simple, which means that there was no leeway at all for complicated variations like date and venue changes.

The most terrible part of what is happening today, lies not only in the fact that the charade is being allowed to happen, but also that the media pack is baying for Huntleys blood while the fancy silk-clad peacocks strut their stuff in Number One Court at the Old Bailey. The British media knows full well that Huntley was tortured inside Rampton mental institution, because it was the British media that described his terrible symptoms in their newspapers and magazines. They all have very easy access to books like Toxic Psychiatry, and huge research funds to spend, where I have almost none.

The bitter truth is that the British media focus is turned outwards by both proprietors and government, meaning that reporters in London can politely whine about human rights abuses in Camp Delta, Guantanamo Bay, while frantically cheering on the exact same human rights abuse of Ian Huntley, by the British Government in their own country.

Nor do the NGOs give a damn. Months ago I brought this matter to the attention of Amnesty International, the Medical Foundation for Torture Victims, and many other London- based charities that are supposed to care. Not one of them bothered to answer my emails, though all emails were logged as opened at the other end.

I will continue to research this appalling case of medical torture and injustice, and hope to post a long and very full report on the Internet in the fullness of time. However, the sheer volume of documents is now so huge, and the number of people who need to be contacted in England so vast, that this task cannot reasonably be completed until well into the New Year.

In the short term I fully expect the silk-clad peacocks to bang Ian Huntley up for a very long time, one way or the other, and I suspect that Maxine Carr will be let off with time served, because she has now fulfilled her government role as Huntleys Damsel in Distress. Now that Huntley has confessed in true Gulag fashion, there is no more need for Maxine Carr to be held in custody. No doubt the British Government will gain significant media brownie points by being merciful in her case.

And the folk at Rampton? No doubt they will continue to dribble down their shirtfronts, sharpen up their hypodermics, and brace themselves for the Governments next difficult case. Let us all hope fervently that next time around, the difficult case is either a Queens Counsel or a member of the British media pack.

Bush And Blair Are In Trouble

by John Pilger

Shortly before the disastrous Bush visit to Britain, Tony Blair was at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday. It was an unusual glimpse of a state killer whose effete respectability has gone. His perfunctory nod to "the glorious dead" came from a face bleak with guilt. As William Howard Russell of the Times wrote of another prime minister responsible for the carnage in the Crimea, "He carries himself like one with blood on his hands." Having shown his studied respect to the Queen, whose prerogative allowed him to commit his crime in Iraq, Blair hurried away. "Sneak home and pray you'll never know," wrote Siegfried Sassoon in 1917, "The hell where youth and laughter go."

Blair must know his game is over. Bush's reception in Britain demonstrated that; and the CIA has now announced that the Iraqi resistance is "broad, strong and getting stronger", with numbers estimated at 50,000. "We could lose this situation," says a report to the White House. The goal now is to "plan the endgame".

Their lying has finally become satire. Bush told David Frost that the world really had to change its attitude about Saddam Hussein's nuclear weapons because they were "very advanced". My personal favourite is Donald Rumsfeld's assessment. "The message," he said, "is that there are known knowns - there are things that we know that we know. There are known unknowns - that is to say, there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns ... things we do not know we don't know. And each year we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns."

An unprecedented gathering of senior American intelligence officers, diplomats and former Pentagon officials met in Washington the other day to say, in the words of Ray McGovern, a former CIA analyst and friend of Bush's father: "Now we know that no other president of the United States has ever lied so baldly and so often and so demonstrably ... The presumption now has to be that he's lying any time that he's saying anything."

And Blair and his foreign secretary dare to suggest that the millions who have rumbled the Bush gang are "fashionably anti-American". An instructive example of their own mendacity was demonstrated recently by Jack Straw. On BBC Radio 4, defending Bush and Washington's doctrine of "preventive war", Straw told the interviewer: "Article 51 [of the United Nations Charter], to which you referred earlier - you said it only allows for self-defence. It actually goes more widely than that because it talks about the right of states to take what is called 'preventive action'."

Straw's every word was false, an invention. Article 51 does not refer to "the right of states to take preventive action" or anything similar. Nowhere in the UN Charter is there any such reference. Article 51 refers only to "the inherent right of individual or collective self-defence if an armed attack occurs" and goes on to constrain that right further. Moreover, the UN Charter was so framed as to outlaw any state's claimed right to preventive war.

In other words, the Foreign Secretary fabricated a provision of the UN Charter which does not exist, then broadcast it as fact. When Straw does speak the truth, it causes panic. The other day, he admitted that Bush had shut him out of critical talks in Washington with Paul Bremer, the US viceroy in Iraq. Straw said he was "not party to the talks, not a party to his [Bremer's] return visit". The Foreign Office transcript of this leaves out that Straw had complained that "the UK and US [are] literally the occupying powers, and we have to meet those responsibilities". The US disregard for its principal vassal has never been clearer.

Both are now desperate. The Bush regime's panic is reflected in its adoption of Israeli revenge tactics, using F-16 aircraft to drop 500lb bombs on residential areas called "suspect zones". They are also burning crops: another Israeli tactic. The parallels are now Palestine and Vietnam; more Americans have died in Iraq than in the first three years of the Vietnam war.

Bottom of the barrel

The world is running out of oil - so why do politicians refuse to talk about it?

by George Monbiot

George Monbiot The oil industry is buzzing. On Thursday, the government approved the development of the biggest deposit discovered in British territory for at least 10 years. Everywhere we are told that this is a "huge" find, which dispels the idea that North Sea oil is in terminal decline. You begin to recognise how serious the human predicament has become when you discover that this "huge" new field will supply the world with oil for five and a quarter days.

Every generation has its taboo, and ours is this: that the resource upon which our lives have been built is running out. We don't talk about it because we cannot imagine it. This is a civilisation in denial.

Oil itself won't disappear, but extracting what remains is becoming ever more difficult and expensive. The discovery of new reserves peaked in the 1960s. Every year we use four times as much oil as we find. All the big strikes appear to have been made long ago: the 400m barrels in the new North Sea field would have been considered piffling in the 1970s. Our future supplies depend on the discovery of small new deposits and the better exploitation of big old ones. No one with expertise in the field is in any doubt that the global production of oil will peak before long.

The only question is how long. The most optimistic projections are the ones produced by the US department of energy, which claims that this will not take place until 2037. But the US energy information agency has admitted that the government's figures have been fudged: it has based its projections for oil supply on the projections for oil demand, perhaps in order not to sow panic in the financial markets.

Other analysts are less sanguine. The petroleum geologist Colin Campbell calculates that global extraction will peak before 2010. In August, the geophysicist Kenneth Deffeyes told New Scientist that he was "99% confident" that the date of maximum global production will be 2004. Even if the optimists are correct, we will be scraping the oil barrel within the lifetimes of most of those who are middle-aged today.

The supply of oil will decline, but global demand will not. Today we will burn 76m barrels; by 2020 we will be using 112m barrels a day, after which projected demand accelerates. If supply declines and demand grows, we soon encounter something with which the people of the advanced industrial economies are unfamiliar: shortage. The price of oil will go through the roof.

Rum remark wins Rumsfeld an award

Isn't it just super to know that a man who can hardly string two words together intelligibly is in control of the largest army in the world... Scary stuff...

US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has won a "Foot in Mouth" award for one of his now legendary bizarre remarks.

Mr Rumsfeld won the prize for comments made at a news conference in February last year which left observers baffled.

"There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns," he said.

The British Plain English Campaign annually hands out the prize for the most nonsensical remark made by a public figure.

A spokesman for the organisation, which tries to ensure public information is delivered in a clear manner, said Mr Rumsfeld's remarks were typical of the kind of comments they were trying to prevent.

"We think we know what he means," he told Reuters news agency.

"But we don't know if we really know."

Mr Rumsfeld fought off stiff competition for the award from actor turned California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger among others.

Mr Schwarzenegger weighed in on the gay marriage debate with the comment "I think that gay marriage is something that should be between a man and a woman."

US furious as Britain ignores extradition plea

"I'm not a poodle, honest I'm not! See! I can say no to Him."

America yesterday expressed fury that the Home Office has not handed over Dr Bashir Nafi, the British academic charged with racketeering and conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism for a Palestinian group.

An official in the US Department of Justice said: "I thought the Brits were on our side in the war against terrorism. But when something like this happens, you wonder."

The official said the Department had requested that Dr Nafi, a London University lecturer, be extradited for trial in the US more than two weeks ago.

The Home Office denied that it had been obstructive or failed to act on a US request to extradite Dr Bashir.

"We have received no arrest warrant from the US and no extradition request," a spokesman said. "It is up to the country that wants to talk to a suspect to start legal proceedings. If an arrest warrant was to be received, we would act upon it. We have the closest relationship with the US."

The Home Office spokesman did not deny, however, that Britain had known about the allegations against Dr Nafi for some time. He said that Dr Nafi could not be arrested under English law because "he has not broken the law in this country".

Dr Nafi, 50, who is originally from Egypt and holds Egyptian and Irish passports, insists that he is "totally innocent", and that the case against him is "a witch-hunt".

According to the US indictment, however, he has a serious case to answer. Charges against Dr Nafi, who lectures on Islamic history at Birkbeck College, include "conspiracy to murder, maim or injure persons outside the United States".

Imagine a world

Imagine a world, my friends.
Full of darkness, despair and death.
A world where women weep
over the battered bodies of their husbands.
Cradling their babies
in the shattered ruins of their homes.

Imagine a world
where the young must all serve
and uniforms they must wear...
Big Brother we will all obey!
It's coming my friends,
can't you see it?
It's there on the horizon
that little spec of black.

They say they're protecting us
but really they're enslaving us.
Slaves of fashion, and fear
with our credit cards all maxed out.
We must all spend to save ourselves,
or so the System says.
Stay out of recession,
put it all on the tab.

But what happens to the debts
when the jobs are all in Bangalore?

Body found inside U.N. headquarters

A while back there was some nutter that pulled a gun in the UN, now someone has been shot there. Given that this is the body supposed to be safeguarding world peace, it doesn't bode very well for the world! Holy shit people! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? Are we prepared to allow the world to descend into darkness and death as we did 89 years ago??? They led us like lambs to the slaughter then becuase we knew no better, are we going to let it happen again?

But, I forgot, nobody's listening anyway. That's ok Britain, go back to your Christmas shopping, max your credit cards out and forget all about it.

(12-01) 11:31 PST NEW YORK (AP) -- A body was found inside United Nations headquarters on Monday, a U.N. spokesman said. U.N. security and the New York police department are investigating the matter.

The U.N. spokesman said the person had been shot, and that the body was discovered inside the building's third-floor lounge at about 11:30 a.m. He declined to give any details on the deceased person pending notification of the family.

The spokesman, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the world body considered the shooting an "isolated incident."

JFK, 9-11, and the REAL America: Tying It All Together

Superb!

An organic reconsideration of US history and major "conspiracy theories" of the past 40 years, including those pertaining to the 9-11 attack, and how they shed light on America's present drift into fascism.

What makes you think you actually KNOW what happened on those planes? All four were obliterated, along with everyone on board, remember? No crime scene, no direct evidence, no recognizable remains, no witnesses whatsoever -- it's a blank canvas. How convenient for any party intent on launching a new era of global imperialism, and willing to spin this tragedy into a viable excuse. Indeed, all of the attack's consequences are far better explained by this agenda than by Bin Laden's purported death wish. Those presuming to examine this matter, i.e. ALL OF US, need to recognize that such trickery is a timeless specialty of governments.

And yet from that very day we have allowed the government-media complex to focus all attention on one rather thin explanation: Crazy Arabs did it! George W. Bush and his cabinet have made it known to us, in the most arrogant terms, that they will brook no discussion of other possibilities -- an edict most Americans, in their desperation to believe in this man, seem to have embraced. The Bush Administration even withholds its "proof" of Al Qa'eda's guilt; clearly, it considers mere citizens too unimportant to require full explanations, and once again, we're just rolling over and taking it.

The phrases 'spiritually broken' and 'morally adrift' come to mind...

Until the full case against Al Qa'eda is made available for public review, we have absolutely no assurance that this "proof" isn't exactly like the "proof" of Iraq's weapons programs -- i.e., a big fat lie from top to bottom. On these terms, wholesale acceptance of the hijacker scenario will continue to be what it has always been: a pathetic display of blind faith in this administration's utterances, and in those of its media accomplices. At present, it is astonishing that anyone places faith of any kind in either party: by means of the "WMD" debacle, both have proven themselves amoral, duplicitous, and utterly devoid of humanity. Indeed, why do we give them so much as a moment of our attention? No one with a lick of sense would do this.

A rigorous civilian investigation of 9-11 would help resolve such doubts. If Bush and the rest were standing on firm ground, they would fully support such a thing. Instead, they have worked to thwart both its formation and its progress, using every resource within their reach. Some time last year, they seem to have realized they were only fueling suspicions this way, so Bush grudgingly approved an "independent" investigation. The arrogance of this bunch is so disabling, however, that they actually damaged their credibility even further by naming Henry Kissinger to lead it. This is a man whose dedication to "US interests" verges on homicidal psychosis (see his treatment of Cambodians 1970, Chileans 1973, East Timorese and Kurds 1975, MUCH more). He could only be expected to skew this investigation accordingly, i. e., to omit and cover up any issue not conducive to empire building. Ironically, even Henry had the sense to admit he was an inappropriate choice, thus resigning from this duty, whereupon Bush immediately returned to his original tactic of stonewalling (1). Could the man possibly have something to hide?

To appreciate the ugliest possibilities of the 9-11 attack, one must first become aware of the continuous practice of such manipulations by the entire progression of American politicians. The need to cultivate this awareness is itself an enigma: if you have the honesty to see this pattern at all, its full enormity, emerging over time, will at some point cause your previous ignorance to amaze you. Imagine living your entire life with an 800-pound gorilla, then realizing one day it's not a sofa, after all. At the same time, finding this enlightenment is challenging, because the relevant facts are usually withheld from the public for decades, seldom appearing in mainstream discourse even after they become common knowledge -- not because of some grand conspiracy, but because legions of 'America Firsters,' including most of the famous and powerful, simply don't want to hear it. The telling of these facts is an affront to their most cherished political assumptions. Invariably, they respond with hostile apologetics, ranging from simple denial and ridicule to the claim that such incidents are random and unrelated "mistakes." That they can sincerely believe this 'unrelated' claim is remarkable, given the way it crushes into dust under any burden of historical proof: America's state crimes have been ethically monstrous, vast in both scale and number, unilateral in their aggression, virtually uninterrupted in their chronology, and very coherent in both motive and method. Certain themes just keep popping up:

BBC Conspires to Pervert Justice

Once again, you should make your own minds up about this. Joe does make some very good points in this article though, worth a read. There are many worrying aspects to this case, not least among which are related to the "treatment" that Ian Huntley has received courtesy of Her Majesty.

by Joe Vialls

At 6.18 p.m. on 24 November, the Government-controlled BBC issued a sweeping statement that appeared to seal the fate of Ian Huntley, prime suspect in the Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman double murder case. Under the dramatic headline Huntley Admits Cutting Up Clothes, the BBC used its huge media weight and perceived public credibility to claim:

Ian Huntley has admitted cutting off the clothes of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman as their bodies lay in a ditch. His lawyer told the Old Bailey Mr Huntley took the clothes back to the Soham school where he worked as a caretaker, and set them on fire. Stephen Coward QC [for Huntley] said his client put the burnt clothes in the bin inside a hangar, where they were later found. The court has already heard Mr Huntley accepts the 10-year-old girls died at his home.

When the BBC printed and broadcast this scandalous statement at 6.18 p.m., they already knew it was a complete lie, and have thus placed themselves and their parent corporation completely outside the law. At the very least, those BBC personnel directly responsible for this blatant deception must be charged with Conspiracy to Pervert the Course of Justice.

Ian Huntley has made no admission about planting clothes anywhere at any time, and, as the BBC also knows very well, has never on any occasion accepted that the two girls died at his home. Earlier in the day Stephen Coward QC had merely outlined what he deduced the prosecution was trying to claim in respect of his client Huntley and the clothes in Soham College, and made the quizzical nature of his questions very plain by stating on open court That is at least a possibility, is it not?"

There is no excuse for the BBC here, because everyone has access to the online court transcripts about once every 15 minutes in real time, and a mistake is therefore impossible. The BBC was desperately trying to please someone very high up in the British establishment with its criminal lies and deception, and was certainly not acting alone in these obscene endeavours.

Almost identical lies were peddled on the same day by Reuters, by the London Independent newspaper, by the Scotsman, and by a host of lesser newspapers and magazines stretching all the way from Canada to Australia. Just like me, every editor and producer had access to the same transcripts coming out of the same courtroom every fifteen minutes, meaning that every editor and producer knew that he or she was printing and broadcasting outright lies, designed to secure a fraudulent and wrongful conviction for the Crown.

If there was ever a chance for the prosecution to successfully fit up Ian Huntley, it was on this day, and in the few days to come, using the generic Manchester United T-shirts so conveniently found by police in the hangar building at Soham College, but without a single trace of Holly Wells or Jessica Chapmans DNA on them, a fact openly admitted by Crown Forensic Scientist Doctor Helen Davey.

Unfortunately for Ian Huntley, this was also the day when the prosecution suffered a severe attack of amnesia about known critical events directly relating to the period of the search conducted in the immediate vicinity of Soham College, and the Hangar in which the generic red Manchester United T-shirts were eventually located.

If you read the court transcripts carefully, it seems as though the hangar at Soham College was the private domain of Ian Huntley, an illusion reinforced by claims that Cambridgeshire police only investigated the hangar after finding the keys in Ian Huntleys house, after he was arrested. This is absolute rubbish, a fact we will now prove using direct quotes from same mainstream media who are currently trying to bury Ian Huntley forever, on behalf of powerful figures within the British establishment.

America's Future: Endless Enemies, Endless Debt

"After the horrific 9/11 tragedy, the Wire Pullers began shredding the Bill of Rights. The U.S. Congress then quickly passed the USA Patriot Act in the middle of the night, without a public hearing. Later, the draconian Homeland Security Law was enacted. And, on March 20, 2003, the Bush-Cheney Gang started, without any just cause, the war with Iraq."

Uncle Sam wants YOU to die for big business America is going to hell! After WWII, it began to be slowly taken over by wily intriguers, wearing pin stripe suits. These grasping men (some were women, too) have been using primarily our federal government, the U.S. Congress, the CIA, NSA, the IMF, the mass media, corporations, banking facilities and our foreign policy, to make us more foes around the globe, while serving their own greedy ends. In the process, these schemers have grown extremely powerful at the expense of the Republic. They rarely choose to hold any office and prefer to operate from behind the scenes. I call them, The Wire Pullers (See Jonathan Kwitnys Endless Enemies for some examples of how this exploitation works.)

I suspect, but I cant prove, that a cabal within the Wire Pullers clique ordered the hit on President John F. Kennedy. They were probably also involved in killing his brother Robert, and civil rights leader, Martin Luther King, Jr. Part of their satanic plot involves dividing the country and splintering the people into balkanized, easier to dominate factions (Check out Dr. John Colemans Conspirators Hierarchy: The Story of the Committee of 300 for more details on these shadowy connivers.)

After the horrific 9/11 tragedy, the Wire Pullers began shredding the Bill of Rights. The U.S. Congress then quickly passed the USA Patriot Act in the middle of the night, without a public hearing. Later, the draconian Homeland Security Law was enacted. And, on March 20, 2003, the Bush-Cheney Gang started, without any just cause, the war with Iraq.

Important questions concerning 9/11 are still being raised. One revolves around the five Israelis, who were caught over in New Jersey, in Liberty State Park, celebrating, jumping up and down, as the burning twin towers were collapsing (Bergen Record (09/12/01). They were acting like they knew exactly when the attack was going down! Even stranger, without conducting a full investigation, these smirking jackasses were permitted by the Feds to go back to Israel.

As for the national economy, many of our manufacturing giants are long gone, while others have moved overseas. Some are out sourcing much of their work. This means that components of their products are made in a Third World country. At that location, U.S. corporations dont have to pay a living wage to workers or comply with any reasonable labor and environmental standards. Meanwhile, the U.S. trade deficit, (think NAFTA, GATT, etc.) is at $415 billion (tradealert.org) and soaring.

At one time, the U.S. had a thriving economy that was the envy of the world. It also had a proud middle class. Today, compliments of the Free Trade policy, the filthy rich have become even richer, while just about everyone else has to work longer hours, at less pay and at more menial jobs, with fewer benefits, too, just to keep their heads above water.

After he decided to invade Iraq, people began to pay more attention to his svengalis, the Neocons. Bush claimed Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction, but that was a big lie. Now, hes making noise, like he wants to invade Iran or maybe Syria. On Thanksgiving Day, in a cynical political act, he visited the troops in Iraq, but not any of Iraqs towns or cities that he had ordered bombed back to the Stone Age.

It will stay up all night debating, with the C Span cameras rolling, whether John Doe would make a good federal judge or not. Then, when a Bill is put in, like the USA Patriot Act was, that posed a substantial threat to our civil liberties, Congress didnt have the decency to even warn the public, who pays their salaries, about its lethal provisions. Skunk is too charitable a word to describe some of its more venal members.
