Funny / strange about British Ambassador John Hughes’ decision to tell ex-pats to leave Venezuela.

- Does the Embassy know something we don’t?
- Has it a whiff of a coup or something just as bad?

According to radio reports reaching the UK, some ex-pats are questioning the wisdom of the Ambassador’s decision, saying they feel safe in Venezuela, even though they are understandably apprehensive about the outcome of the unending stand-off between the government and the opposition.

"Although gasoline supplies have started trickling in, Confederation of Trade Unions (CTV) president Carlos Ortega’s jibe that if it took the government 17 days to move one merchant navy tanker, how long will it take to get the economy moving again, has a ring of truth."

The government’s decision, yesterday, to set up a unified command to manage the restoration of oil and food supplies indicates that it wasn’t really prepared for the consequences of the oil industry stoppage, despite having an abundance of military officers with university degrees.

Yes, it is indeed strange that the British want out ... despite the granting of natural gas fields to British Gas and other JVs in the offing.

The Venezuelan government could be forgiven if it started referring to the UK by its more descriptive adage “Perfidious Albion.”

What the Ambassador has done is to play the opposition card using the argument that Embassy staff and ex-pats will not be able to avail themselves of gasoline at the pumps and will soon be unable to purchase food supplies.

If the lies are uncovered and then believed, not only is the regime's ability to deliver the future called into question, the legitimacy of the regime's eschatological vision may be called into question. Political survival therefore depends on the ability of the regime to keep the de-legitimizing truth from the public.

Into our world of flawed political eschatologies, systematic lies, and misplaced legitimacy has come the Internet – ironically, a physical infrastructure put in place by the United States Defense Department. The Internet got away from its inventors because of Tim Berners-Lee, who invented the address system that made possible the World Wide Web. Then came the Web browser, developed by a group of students at the University of Minnesota. Then came Netscape and Internet Explorer. "And the rest is history!" This, from the politicians' point of view, is the essence of the problem: history.

An international digital revolution – no other word suffices – is today verifying Hayek's theory of the spontaneous order. It is also undermining the efforts of various not-so-spontaneous orders. One by one, the Internet is castrating the bodyguard of lies.

Germany Casts Doubt on Warning of Al Qaeda Attack

Given the propensity of our government to lie through their teeth about absolutely everything any warings about impending "terrorist" activity should be taken with a large pinch of salt.

German prosecutors said on Monday they were investigating an anonymous tip that an al Qaeda cell may be planning attacks across Europe, but the government said it did not appear to be genuine.

The interior ministry said the warning -- which included names of the alleged attackers -- came in anonymous letters weeks ago, but a preliminary analysis by German security experts determined it was most probably not a real threat.

"We do not believe this has any sort of a terrorist background of any relevance," a ministry spokesman told a news conference on Monday.

Stern magazine had reported that the American, British and French consulates received unsigned letters warning about attacks, including the use of biological weapons, that could be coming soon from a 50-member al Qaeda group operating in Europe.

The terms of political discourse typically have two meanings. One is the dictionary meaning, and the other is a meaning that is useful for serving power -- the doctrinal meaning.

Take democracy. According to the common-sense meaning, a society is democratic to the extent that people can participate in a meaningful way in managing their affairs. But the doctrinal meaning of democracy is different -- it refers to a system in which decisions are made by sectors of the business community and related elites. The public are to be only "spectators of action," not "participants," as leading democratic theorists (in this case, Walter Lippmann) have explained. They are permitted to ratify the decisions of their betters and to lend their support to one or another of them, but not to interfere with matters -- like public policy -- that are none of their business.

If segments of the public depart from their apathy and begin to organize and enter the public arena, that's not democracy. Rather, it's a crisis of democracy in proper technical usage, a threat that has to be overcome in one or another way: in El Salvador, by death squads -- at home, by more subtle and indirect means.

Or take free enterprise, a term that refers, in practice, to a system of public subsidy and private profit, with massive government intervention in the economy to maintain a welfare state for the rich. In fact, in acceptable usage, just about any phrase containing the word "free" is likely to mean something like the opposite of its actual meaning.

Or take defense against aggression, a phrase that's used -- predictably -- to refer to aggression. When the US attacked South Vietnam in the early 1960s, the liberal hero Adlai Stevenson (among others) explained that we were defending South Vietnam against "internal aggression" -- that is, the aggression of South Vietnamese peasants against the US air force and a US-run mercenary army, which were driving them out of their homes and into concentration camps where they could be "protected" from the southern guerrillas. In fact, these peasants willingly supported the guerillas, while the US client regime was an empty shell, as was agreed on all sides.

So magnificently has the doctrinal system risen to its task that to this day, 30 years later, the idea that the US attacked South Vietnam is unmentionable, even unthinkable, in the mainstream. The essential issues of the war are, correspondingly, beyond any possibility of discussion now. The guardians of political correctness (the real PC) can be quite proud of an achievement that would be hard to duplicate in a well-run totalitarian state.

Panama invasion: the story of a people's tragedy

The secret plot behind the US attack 13 years ago.

"Traitors", might cried the chief of the Panamanian Armed Forces, Manuel Antonio Noriega, when the US Army invaded his country on December 20th 1989. But why he might cried that? Noriega used to stay in the CIA payroll since 1972, when his links with drug trafficking where very well known by Nixon's administration. However, another Republican President, George Bush, decided to take him to the US courts, with a balance of 2.000 Panamanians dead.

Panama obtained its independence from Colombia on November 3rd 1903, with the help of the United States of America. Before that date Panamanians did not take very seriously their will for independence. However, Colombian opposition to the US construction of a Canal on the thin piece of land where today Panama is, surprisingly revived their "National Spirit". When Panama declared independence, Washington was the first country in recognizing it and the new Panamanian authorities thanked this attitude by handing over the territory where the Canal was finally constructed, only fifteen days after. By that time, Panama did not even had a Constitution to state how this new country was supposed to be named.

Since then, Panama's internal affairs started being handled from its Capital, Washington and controlled by its tiny European elite, less than 10% of the population. As Noam Chomsky states on his book "What Uncle Sam Really Wants", that changed in 1968, when Omar Torrijos, a populist general, led a coup that allowed the black and mestizo [mixed-race] poor to obtain at least a share of the power under his military dictatorship. In 1981, Torrijos was killed in a plane crash. By 1983, the effective ruler was Manuel Noriega, a criminal who had been a cohort of Torrijos and US intelligence.

IMF Policies Have Reduced African Countries to Their Weakest Levels

Dr Kaunda is the only world leader that I've ever met personally and I must say I was impressed by the man, I still am even though Zambia is a shambles it kind of proves that it wasn't his fault... Anyway, this article isn't about him it's about the IMF and how completely crap they really are. My humble advice to any developing country, tell the IMF where to go. There are enough resources in the so-called "third" world that if they really clubbed together they would need the IMF, the World Bank or any other "International" organisation. Joe Stiglitz agrees with him which should also tell you something, the IMF and World Bank exist to further the fortunes of the International Bankers, it's as simple as that.

International Monetary Fund's (IMF) bad economic programmes have reduced African countries' economies to their weakest levels, first Zambian Republican president Dr. Kenneth Kaunda has said.

Addressing students at University of Florida's Centre for African Studies, Dr. Kaunda said while there were similar problems in other parts of the world, such as Asia and Latin America, Southern African countries faced the harshest economic, social, and political pressures in the world.

"Unless we act very quickly, Southern African countries risk losing the post-independence gains made in education, social development, nutrition, water and sanitation, infrastructure, and the general economy," Dr. Kaunda said. "We risk regressing to at least 50 years ago."

Dr. Kaunda told the students that IMF's bad economic programmes had deprived the Africans of basic services. He cited the provision of health and education services as some of the basic services that had greatly been affected by the IMF's bad policies.

Instead of a debate over war, there's been a national shrug

I think deep down people realise that everything is contrived and controlled by a small group pf people - those that spend any time thinking about anything anyway. The media ignores our perspective to a very large extent, concentrating instead on "reality" TV and mindless brainless "pop idols". That's the whole game plan; keep the masses numb and bloated from endless hours of mindless shyt "entertainment" and then do whatever you like. People seem to have become either so cynical about the system or so numbed by it that they simply give up control to those in power.

The press hounds barked over 'Cheriegate', so why are they silent on Iraq?

Hands up all those who really think that George Bush is not determined to attack Iraq some time soon. Hands up all those who think that if he does so without UN authority Tony Blair will turn round and say: "Sorry Buddy, you're on your own." Not many takers, I bet. And yet the political conversation in this country has become surreal. Tony Blair and the rest of the government speak and act as if we are going through a patient, careful, international review of Iraq's weaponry. War, they say, may still not happen, so it's pointless to discuss "what ifs".

Everyone knows this is nonsense. We are preparing for conflict very soon: tens of thousands of American troops are already in the region, British and US warships are sailing, special forces and marines are being inoculated against anthrax, Bush has cancelled his trip to Africa. We are going to war, but Tony hasn't quite got round to telling us. By the time we wake up from our Christmas hangovers, the momentum will be unstoppable, just as in 1914, once the armies were moving, it was too late to alter the railway timetables.

You might have imagined that the country would be riven by argument and debate. After all, most people seem at best confused about the need to attack Iraq. The connection between the terrorist threat at home and the Bagdhad regime seems more rhetorical than proven. Ministers in private express their bemusement and count through unanswered questions on the fingers of both hands. But they, like the anti-war party, inside the Labour party and outside it, sound fatalistic. So far, there's been a great national shrug. If this is what Tony wants, this is what Tony will get. It is almost as if the country has lost the power of speech, let alone any relish for disagreement.

Camp X-Ray Farce

They're not even Al Qa'ida, does Al Qa'ida even exist? I'm not so sure any more.

Dozens of inmates held at Camp X-Ray were never al-Qaeda or Taliban terror suspects, it was revealed yesterday.

They were sent to the US prison in Cuba despite strong objections from intelligence officers in Afghanistan - who said they should be released.

The chaos has caused major rows in the military, with former camp boss Major General Michael Dunlavey complaining that too many "Mickey Mouse" detainees were being sent there.

Russia Backs Iraq, Says War Counter To Moscow Interests

Doesn't that headline just fill you with an abundance of yuletide cheer? Thinking about it, this serves as an interesting sequel to the Moscow theatre hijack there are those who believe that the attack was instigated by foreign forces to ensure Russian approval at the UN... Interesting...

Russia stood up firmly for Iraq by declaring that a military campaign there ran counter to Moscow's national interests and urging Washington to strictly abide by UN resolutions on the conflict.

"The most important thing is making sure that Iraq has no weapons of mass destruction," Foreign Minister Ivanov said in an interview with Channel One, broadcast first in Russia's far eastern regions, and picked up by news agencies.

"All other goals run counter to our interests," Ivanov said in reference to the military campaign.

Ivanov called on Washington to abide by the rules of UN Security Council resolution 1441 -- which sets strict conditions for Iraqi compliance with weapons inspection -- that he stressed was the best method for assuring that Saddam Hussein's regime disarmed.

Embittered Bethlehem Prepares For Bleak Christmas

What makes me most sad is that if you put Bethlehem in Google Images and do a search, the first two fookin' piccies that come up are of poxy Israeli troops on the streets! I think that just about says it all so I've replicated the picture below :-( I'm not a Christian but it still sucks.

Saint Catherine's church is filled with worshippers on a wet Sunday morning, but exiting the edifice they confessed this Christmas will the "bleakest" of their lives.

"This will be the bleakest Christmas ever because we've been robbed of our freedom," says Johnny Babun, in his 40s, whose garage and car wash business was razed by the Israeli army two years ago.

"We will find solace at the midnight mass, beyond that there won't be any Christmas celebrations," he says, adding that "ironically we'll commemorate the birth of Christ, the man who embodies peace."

Father Gianni, from the church adjoining the Basilica of Nativity, which is revered as Jesus Christ's birthplace, is confident Christmas celebrations will proceed uninterrupted.

UN chief issues secret orders for war in Iraq

Tht United Nations is making secret contingency plans for a war that would halt all Iraqi oil production, “seriously degrade” the country’s electricity system, provoke civil unrest and create 900,000 refugees, The Times has learnt.

Internal UN documents predict that the worst fighting will be in the three central governorates around Baghdad, with the Kurdish-controlled north remaining largely free of conflict. But it will take a month after war breaks out before the predominantly Shia south is calm enough for UN humanitarian workers to work there.

Although formally expressing the hope that war can be averted, UN relief agencies are already positioning emergency supplies and updating evacuation procedures for the hundreds of international staff now inside Iraq.

“The UN expects that there will be full compliance by Iraq . . . and that, consequently, there will be no new humanitarian crisis,” one document says. “Nevertheless, UN agencies must ensure that they are adequately prepared for the full range of possible scenarios.”

Kofi Annan, the UN Secretary-General, is trying to keep the preparations secret for fear of signalling to Iraq that weapons inspections are futile and a US-led attack is inevitable.

Sharon War Plan Exposed

In spite of Israel’s intervention in Cisjordan and the Gaza Strip, violent clashes have continued between Israel and militant Palestinian organizations. In the majority of the incidents, the familiar organisations have declared themselves responsible for the attacks: Hamas, the Islamic Jihad, the Al-Kassam Brigades, the Al-Aksa Brigades and others. Among the 13 Palestinians that were locked up in Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity there were also supporters of the above-mentioned terror organizations including two who belong to the Hamas movement. Experienced observers of the political development in the Middle East have noted that often after a period of peace a deliberate attack, either on a Palestinian leader or on Israeli citizens, takes place. A new military conflict results. These conflicts mostly culminate in the destruction of Palestinian institutions. There is something clearly irregular about such recurrences, and one cannot help suspecting that certain forces, hidden to the public eye, are at work.

This article, written in July 2001 by the historian Jeffrey Steinberg, explains one possible cause for what is going on. His theory has since been alarmingly confirmed and has lost nothing or its topicality ever given the continuing bloodshed in the region.

Cheney Blocks Worldwide Cheap Drugs Deal

Dick Cheney, the US vice-president, last night blocked a global deal to provide cheap drugs to poor countries, following intense lobbying of the White House by America's pharmaceutical giants.

Faced with furious opposition from all the other 140 members of the World Trade Organisation, the US refused to relax global patent laws which keep the price of drugs beyond reach of most developing countries.

Talks at the WTO's Geneva headquarters collapsed last night after the White House ruled out a deal which would have permitted a full range of life-saving drugs to be imported into Africa, Asia and Latin America at cut-price costs.

"The United States has announced it cannot join the consensus," the Brazilian negotiator, Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, said.

Sources in Geneva said last night that the negotiating strategy had come straight from the White House, with Mr Cheney seizing the reins from America's trade negotiator, Robert Zoellick.

MI5 could have stopped the bomb going off

According to reports, Punch was forced to pulp all copies of this issue of their magazine by MI5. Another example of how the British government has been involved in committing acts of terrorism in order to implement fascist terrorism laws and erode civil liberties.

The Bishopsgate blast in 1993 was one of the worst acts of terrorism London has ever seen. David Shayler reveals the damning truth about the catastrophe.

The story begins on Friday August 7, 1992, during an MI5 investigation into the Provisional IRA (PIRA the MI5 term) operation on the British mainland. An MI5 officer is on the third floor of the organisation's building in Curzon Street, drafting the situation report for the investigation into an active service unit (ASU) which has been followed, moving suspicious trucks around West London.

Reporting indicates that the ASU is planning a large-scale attack in London, like the ones that took place six months earlier at the Baltic Exchange in the City and at Staples Corner near the M1/M25 intersection. The situation report will go out to all services involved in the operation, updating them on the state of play.

That Friday evening, all is calm. The joint Met S Squad/MI5 surveillance team has tracked the lorry to a trailer park in Northwest London. The ASU is under control and it looks like any potential attack will be thwarted and the culprits caught red-handed.

This is the last operation with the MPSB (the Metropolitan Police Special Branch), leading the intelligence investigation. Home Secretary Kenneth Clarke has already decided to switch the roles of MI5 and the MPSB for IRA investigations in Britain. After October 1, 1992, MI5 will be in charge and MPSB will offer support.

The United States edited out more than 8000 crucial pages of Iraq's 11,800-page dossier on weapons, before passing on a sanitised version to the 10 non-permanent members of the United Nations security council.

The full extent of Washington's complete control over who sees what in the crucial Iraqi dossier calls into question the allegations made by US Secretary of State Colin Powell that 'omissions' in the document constituted a 'material breach' of the latest UN resolution on Iraq.

Last week, Secretary General of the UN Kofi Annan accepted that it was 'unfortunate' that his organisation had allowed the US to take the only complete dossier and edit it. He admitted 'the approach and style were wrong' and Norway, a member of the security council, says it is being treated like a 'second-class country'.

Although Powell called the Iraqi dossier a 'catalogue of recycled information and flagrant omissions', the non-permanent members of the security council will have no way of testing the US claims for themselves. This will be crucial if the US and the UK go back to the security council seeking explicit authorisation for war on Iraq if breaches of resolution 1441 are confirmed when the weapons inspectors -- this weekend investigating 10 sites in Iraq, including an oil refinery south of Baghdad -- deliver their report to the UN next month.

Bush's Venezuelan Breakdown

With so many in the Bush administration able to speak Spanish, the phrase no aprende ni a palos should have a familiar ring. If not, one need only examine the White House's recent actions regarding Venezuela to understand that the words refer to someone who never learns -- just doesn't seem to get it -- even when hit upside the head with a stick.

How else to explain why, for the second time in eight months, the administration recklessly threw its weight behind the political opposition in that very volatile country at a moment when choosing sides threatened to trigger an explosive reaction.

By forcefully calling on Dec. 13 for early -- and therefore unconstitutional -- presidential elections, the administration jeopardized the delicate balance developing in Caracas after weeks of negotiations between President Hugo Chavez's government and its democratic opponents. Facilitated by Cesar Gaviria, the secretary general of the Organization of American States, the talks have been the best hope for a peaceful solution to a long-simmering crisis.

According to Vancier, quoted by Robert I. Friedman in The Village Voice on May 6, 1986, his allies were "desperate people" who "don't care if they live or die."

Considering this warning it is entirely conceivable the "Middle Eastern" men described by passengers on the airliners were not Arabs at all.

Evidence to be explored suggests that instead, these hijackers could well have been Israeli-sponsored fundamentalist Jewish fanatics (posing as "bin Laden Arabs") hoping to instigate an all-out U.S. war against the Arab world.

"Jewish suicide bombers? Impossible!" cry critics. However, the fact is that there is a "suicide tradition" that is a much-revered part of Jewish history--going back to the famous mass suicide at Masada by Jewish zealots.

UK sells chemical weapons to the world

The people who sell these weapons do not do so in the interests of the British people, we as a nation are opposed to such barbaric weapons. Britain is supplying chemical warfare technology to 26 countries including Libya, Syria, Israel and Iran -- which was labelled part of the 'axis of evil' by the United States.

A Sunday Herald investigation has revealed that the UK is allowing the export of the lethal chemicals, which are illegal under international law and controlled under the chemical weapons convention because they can be used in weapons of mass destruction.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), which authorised the sales, has admitted that it does not know whether the exports will be used to create chemical weapons once they are exported, or not.

Among the countries to which Britain is exporting 'toxic chemical precursors' (TCPs) is Sudan. The US bombed a factory in the Sudanese capital Khartoum in 1998 with the full support of the Blair government for allegedly producing the deadly VX nerve agent.

Weapons inspectors turn fire on Britain and US

George Bush was under intense pressure yesterday to give UN weapons inspectors intelligence data that the US says proves Iraq is lying when it claims to have given up its weapons of mass destruction.

Hours before Mr Bush was to meet the UN secretary general, Kofi Annan, and senior Russian and European representatives, Hans Blix, the chief weapons inspector, delivered a stinging attack on the US and Britain, accusing them of failing to co-operate with his team.

"If the UK and the US are convinced and they say they have evidence, then one would expect they would be able to tell us where is this stuff," Mr Blix said. Asked if he was getting enough co-operation from Western intelligence agencies, he said: "Not yet. We get some, but we don't get all we need."

Mr Blix spoke as inspections moved into a new, more intense phase. The Security Council has asked his team of weapons inspectors to provide a detailed assessment of Iraq's arms declaration on 9 January. British Firm Told How To Irradiate Kurds

A British security company which is under investigation by Scotland Yard over an alleged plot to kill a guerrilla leader proposed the use of radiation to poison Kurdish prisoners. Aims Ltd, of Salisbury, Wiltshire, which has close links to British intelligence and the SAS, offered to arrange to irradiate Kurdish rebels held by the Turks in northern Iraq.

The company told Turkish military authorities that after the Kurds were released the radiation would make it possible to track their movements and follow them to their bases. It added that the prisoners could fall ill from radiation poisoning within 21 days.

Aims is already being investigated by Scotland Yard after The Sunday Timesrevealed that it had plotted to assassinate Abdullah Ocalan, leader of the Turkish PKK guerrilla group, for a fee of £5.75m. Now it faces fresh allegations that it has engaged in a string of mercenary activities. Confidential documents seen by The Sunday Times show that Brian Smith, the company's boss who goes by the name of "Tom", suggested the radiation poisoning in a five-page briefing document prepared for the Turkish security authorities.

A World's Shame: Child Soldiers

From Burundi to Colombia; from the Philippines to Sri Lanka and in many other countries, Governments and rebel groups are recruiting children as soldiers, says a new United Nations report. According to UNICEF, there are around 300.000 child soldiers in more than 40 countries worldwide.

Most of the children in arms are in Africa and East Asia, but reports from Latin America and South East Europe show that the this indignant problem crosses almost the entire globe. For the first time the UN named those Governments and groups that recruit youths under 18 for military combat.

The report listed 23 groups including governments and rebel factions in five countries where child soldiering is common - Afghanistan, Burundi, Liberia, Somalia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In Colombia, for instance, irregular forces started a recruiting campaign in public schools located in the outskirts of the largest cities.

The standards being violated include a number of human rights pacts as well as an amendment to the 1990 Convention on the Rights of the Child that prohibits the use of children younger than 18 in combat. These standards apply to insurgent groups as well as governments, making them accountable for such actions, the report said.

The latest anthrax stories – Al Qaeda was mixing huge vats of the stuff in the Afghan hinterlands, the hijackers sent it just before they clocked out, it's all an Iraqi plot – are such a compilation of cow-dung and other varieties of excrement that one imagines them writing this junk while holding their noses. Naturally, the War Street Journal is the absolute worst, building an editorial out of all these dubious elements and then standing, unsteadily, on the pinnacle of the rickety mess to proclaim:
"The evidence of Saddam's repeated efforts to acquire biological and chemical weapons is overwhelming, so it's hardly a leap to imagine that he might have shared that expertise with his like-minded friends in al Qaeda. The famous meeting in Prague between Mohammed Atta and an Iraqi agent is unlikely to be the sole connection between al Qaeda and Saddam.”

That's a leap of Olympic athleticism, one likely to set a world record. There is not a scintilla of evidence that the "famous" meeting in Prague ever happened, as Bob Novak points out. Yet this urban myth – which seems restricted to certain pundits, who repeat it endlessly and then quote each other – persists, in spite of the flimsiness of the evidence. And of course an "effort to acquire biological and chemical weapons" is not the same as a successful effort to do so.

As for the alleged like-mindedness of Saddam and Osama: the savagery of the former is secular, while the latter's is almost purely theo-pathological. Their actions are equally monstrous, but like-minded is precisely what these two monsters are not. Failure to understand this is to confess complete ignorance of the war bin Laden is waging. 9/11 was a declaration of religious war, or jihad, against the West. To the bin Ladenite – still smarting over the loss of Andalusia – the enemy is modernity.

Three cheers for the latest Nobel laureates in economics: Daniel Kahneman of Princeton University, and Vernon Smith of George Mason University in Virginia. Like many Nobel prizes, these awards recognise not only the seminal work undertaken by Kahneman and Smith, but also the schools of thought they help to lead.
Kahneman, a psychologist, has demonstrated how individuals systematically behave in ways less rational than orthodox economists believe they do. His research shows not only that individuals sometimes act differently than standard economic theories predict, but that they do so regularly, systematically, and in ways that can be understood and interpreted through alternative hypotheses, competing with those utilised by orthodox economists.

To most market participants - and, indeed, ordinary observers - this does not seem like big news. Wall Street brokers who peddled stocks they knew to be garbage exploited the irrationality that Kahneman and Smith exposed. Much of the mania that led to the bubble economy was based on exploiting investor psychology.

In fact, this irrationality is no news to the economics profession either. John Maynard Keynes long ago described the stock market as based not on rational individuals struggling to uncover market fundamentals, but as a beauty contest in which the winner is the one who guesses best what the judges will say.

Retreat by Nestle on Ethiopia's $6m debt

Nestle, the world's largest coffee company, was forced into a humiliating climbdown yesterday after a wave of public outrage greeted its demand for a $6m (£3.7m) payment from the government of famine stricken Ethiopia.

The company promised to invest any money it receives from Ethiopia back in the country after receiving thousands of emails of protest in response to the story in yesterday's Guardian.

At an emergency meeting in its Swiss HQ last night, senior executives were mulling over the public relations damage. The claim represents about an hour's turnover for a company which posted sales of $59.36bn and pre-tax profits of $6.15bn last year.

Nestle - fearing a consumer boycott of its products across Europe - is considering donating some of the money it is demanding to help feed the 11 million Ethiopians who face starvation in coming months.

US Govt, 24 US Corps Illegally Helped Iraq Build Its WMD

Hewlett Packard, Dupont, Honeywell and other major U.S. corporations, as well as governmental agencies including the Department of Defense and the nation's nuclear labs, all illegally helped Iraq to build its biological, chemical and nuclear weapons programs.

On Wednesday, December 18, Geneva-based reporter Andreas Zumach broke the story on the US national listener-sponsored radio and television show "Democracy Now!" Zumach's Berlin-based paper Die Tageszeitung plans to soon publish a full list of companies and nations who have aided Iraq. The paper first reported on Tuesday that German and U.S. companies had extensive ties to Iraq but didn't list names.

Zumach obtained top-secret portions of Iraq's 12,000-page weapons declaration that the US had redacted from the version made available to the non-permanent members of the UN Security Council.

What Did Britain Know About 911?

One of the many perplexing things about the events that unfolded on the day of September 11 last year was the rapid speed at which British Prime Minister Tony Blair drew his own conclusions about the nature of the attacks. His all but his instant offering of completely unqualified support for the Bush administration was remarkable.

For some it seemed that a more reassuring approach would have been to allow a delay of a day or two to receive Foreign Office and intelligence briefings - in order to fully consider what was believed to have happened, who was behind it, and what should be the appropriate response.

One eminent foreign policy expert warned the next day that Britain's immediate pledge to stand 'shoulder to shoulder' with America in the aftermath of the attacks could have far-reaching implications for foreign relations. Professor Bulmer-Thomas, Director of London's Royal Institute of International Affairs, told the BBC 12 September that the consequences of offering such strong support for potential US retaliation could not be accurately gauged at such an early stage: "The danger is they do it far too early, before the facts are in."

By contrast, however, Blair gave the impression of being a man who did not need any briefings. Was this because, unbeknown to the rest of us, Blair already knew in advance exactly what the score was?

As time passes it becomes increasingly clear that the British government knew a great deal about was in the offing by the end of the summer of 2001, and that it was communicating its knowledge to the Bush administration.

U.S. Surrounds Bagdad

White House is scrambling this afternoon to answer questions about the way it planned and executed an attack on an obscure Arizona town called Bagdad, with a population of about 2000.

Top military officials at the Pentagon refused to comment, directing all questions to the White House. One general, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said, "I have no idea what's going on, but once we heard we're attacking Baghdad, I really couldn't give a damn about where it is. Just the sound of that word makes my blood run cold."

His sentiment was shared by many people in the military. Many of the privates who were allowed to talk to reporters confessed that none of them really knew that they were attacking Arizona, but since the order was thought to have been given "from high above", they promptly took aim at Bagdad.

At around 3 o'clock, the White House briefed reporters on the plan to attack Iraq, and announced, to everyone's surprise, that at that very moment, the marine was executing a plan to take the capital of Iraq. Half an hour later, fishermen along the Pacific Coast in Southern California reported seeing a U.S. navy vessel trying to reach shore. An eyewitness said that when the navy vessel was within a mile of the California coast, it abrupted turned around and left.

Soon after, the White House called an emergency news conference. White House spokesman Ari Fleischer confirmed that the Arizona town was mistaken for the Iraqi capital. He squarely blamed the CIA for the mistake. "The CIA told us on Monday that spy satellites show Baghdad has suddenly shrinked in size to next to nothing. They suspect that Hussein has just tested his chemical weapons on his people, and is now ready to destroy the world. If we did not act now, it could be all over." When asked how the intelligence could be so wrong that U.S. was attacking its own territory, Fleischer said, "If intelligence were good, would we still be searching for bin Laden?"

How, how, how did we ever get ourselves in a predicament where an Oriental-style despot controls American medicine and most doctors fear to prescribe what they think best for their patients? Why, over 200 years after a war to liberate ourselves from a half-mad king, have we allowed our lives and health to come under the rule of a totally mad Tsar? And has this monstrous tumor destroyed most of the Constitution only "by accident," or did its creators have that intent all along?
Well, here's my theory:

Most people think the TSOG [Tsarist Occupation Government] began its infestation of America with George Bush Sr., when he appointed a Tsar to discombobulate our previously democratic form of government; but Bush had a long C.I.A. career behind him and the C.I.A. had a long, long Tsarist history before they came out in the open with a public and blatant Tsar, a functionary not endowed or permitted by any clause in our Constitution.

Actually, the TSOG began replacing representative democracy in the U.S. way back in 1945, when Gen. Rheinhard Gehlen, Hitler's Chief of Soviet Intelligence, surrendered to the U.S. Army, after first prudently burying several truckloads of "inside information" about the Soviet Union at a secret location.

As most of you know by now, my photo went all over the country as the first patient to receive medical cannabis from the city officials of Santa Cruz on September 17; I assume the organizers pushed me up front because of my age, my white beard, my wheelchair and my general resemblence to a colorful Gothic ruin.

I've had a lot of experence with civil disobedience, dating back to Vietnam War days, but this occasion seems unique, in that the mayor, the former mayor, the city council and various other local officials participated [not as patients, but as supporters.] In fact, we all acted perfectly in accord with local and state law: Californians voted to legalize medical cannabis by a 55% majority, and Santa Cruz County by a 75% majority. The TSOG [Tsarist Occupation Government], however, has thrown the tenth amendment into the same garbage heap with the first nine. The Bill of Rights exists now only as a historical curiosity, although you can still find it in the back of a good fat dictionary.

I suggest that you check this out by looking into your own dictionary before His Royal Fraudulency George II has this subversive document removed and thrown down the memory hole.

What will Tsarism in America engulf and devour next? Having invaded medicine -- not only in the present case, but in banning stem cell research-- will the TSOG move on physics next and allow the pointy-headed bureaucrats to decide which of the eight theories of quantum mechanics professors may discuss in class? Will they issue dogmas about mathematical set theory? Will they raid Chinese neighborhoods, indefinetly "detaining" those who prefer herbal meds to allopathic ones? Nothing seems impossible: Tsarist governments use a special logic with deuces, eights and one-eyed jacks wild.

I wonder how many of the serfs even remember that the founders intended to create a free country here.

Theory: VOXFUX - Rumor and Speculation Arise

I have been following the voxnyc.com news site now for a while (Very Closely) A strange thing happened just prior to the raid. Voxfux had been having a "back and fourth" with a real belligerent jerk who had been posting under the name "Unknown Soldier" Vox had essentially tracked his usage to a number of postings by this same jerk. Then vox's final exchange was that this guy was spoofing his IP (which only hackers and intelligence agents do) Since this jerk "Unknown Soldier" is no hacker then maybe...

You get the drift.

Then Vox announced that this guy was operating on rasserver.net which is a VERY SUSPICIOUS internet company. With a strange kind of administration which never responds to any complaints about it's many violations regarding some illegal activity is undertakes on a daily basis. Also rasserver.net seems immune to any Internet authorities' regarding their constant and flagrant violations of common Internet rules and regulations.

Then he looked into rasserver's parent company ICG and discovered that ICG Communications Inc had decended into bankrupcy just days after Bush siezed the presidency. Hmmm.

He accused ICG Communications Inc of being possible the next Enron scandal, only this time Vox has claimed that ICG was actually taken over by an intelligence group (CIA or EX CIA) and that it had undertaken a scheme to drive the stock proice into the ground, only to rip off investors, and then when the stock reached rock bottom they bought up the stock and are now poised to become fabulously wealthy.

Apparently they drove the stock price from 36 dollars to 36 cents.

Then vox mentioned something about the CEO's involved with ICG were intelligence assets. The new CEO is in fact a Jesuit (Graduated from LOYOLA university which specializes in Intellegence, political, industrial economic intelligence.

The strange thing is that there is no trace of that exchange that was on vox's web site. What is even stranger is that this "Unknown Soldier" Who vox pointed out also posts under the name "Soaring Eagle" This Soaring Eagle posted a very spooky veiled threat which is still up on the site it is a passage from George Orwell's 1984 about Big Brothers ability to obliterate every trace of a persons life so that no one would ever know that he existed.

Why Hiroshima Was Bombed: The 'Utopians' Duped a Nation

"The United States decision to drop the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki saved over one million American lives which would have been sacrificed by an invasion of Japan."

How often has this claim been restated whenever that horrendous event is mentioned on TV or in newspapers. And yet, it remains to this day a total fiction. Not only the figure of "one million"—which was gratuituously added in the cover story published later to enhance the much lower figures actually predicted by the War Department had the United States been forced to invade Japan—but even the lower, more accurate estimates, represented a complete fallacy. There would have been no casualties in a land invasion of Japan because there would not have been any land invasion of Japan. By mid-May 1945 it was clear to all who wished to see: Japan was on the brink of surrendering.

It is the merit of Gar Alperovitz's work that he documented the facts available as of 1995 by using the then-latest declassified records from the war period. The real purpose of the atomic bomb was not to win the war, but rather to shape the contours of the post-war world. Alperowitz had an entire team working the files on this subject, with excellent results. The "team" aspect of the work leads, however, to a good deal of repetition. The recent biography by Robert Norris of one of the key players in that policy decision, Gen. Leslie Groves, helps to fill out the picture of the real scope and purposes of the decision to drop the atomic bomb on Japanese cities.

Don't Mention The War

Trivial as it may seem after a week of comedy-drama chez Blair, I thought I should probably mention that the United States might be dropping a nuclear bomb or two sometime soon. Nothing serious, you understand -- neither the Prime Minister's wife nor the Daily Mail have been informed -- but America's aperitif to war on Iraq runs something like this: if Saddam happens to think of deploying one of the chemical weapons he might (or might not) happen to possess, the Pentagon promises faithfully to respond with one of the dinky new nukes it is dying, by pure coincidence, to test.

I have struggled to find the United Nations resolution that would sanction this behaviour, much as I have struggled to find the resolution that even justifies the threat, but the chances are I should know better. While the country is transfixed by faxes, fixers and fitness trainers, a genuine massacre is being prepared. Will it be just, legal, or rational? Who cares? The important thing is that Cherie is not a superwoman.

America is barking, so to speak, while Britain wags an obedient tail. The logic that sent UN inspectors into Iraq has been turned on its head. As of last week, chief inspector Hans Blix and his boys in blue no longer have to demonstrate that Saddam possesses weapons of mass destruction. Instead, Saddam has somehow to prove that he owns nothing of the sort. His 12,000-page personal report card has been appropriated by the Americans -- who have turned the UN into a wholly-owned subsidiary for the purpose -- and the very fact that it contains nothing incriminating is being treated as conclusively incriminating. Why trust a liar just because, at the point of a gun, he tells the truth?

Australia's $500 Million Top Secret Weapons In The "War On Terror"

On Monday 16 December, the Australian Government claimed to have “underestimated” defense spending in 2002 by nearly five hundred million dollars. This is a huge sum for a country like Australia, which has a miniscule defense budget suited to its tiny population of less than twenty million people.

Government ministers faced media cameras with poker faces, hinting strongly that as a result of the excessive spending, defense cuts would have to be made at the “sharp end”. What this means, for example, is that the fabled Special Air Service (SAS) might have to make do with inferior equipment while on operational duty in Afghanistan, or even in Iraq while hunting President Saddam Hussein, if ordered to do so by American President George W. Bush.

Of course the $500 million wasn’t really “missing” at all. Australian Ministers lie on television every day and 16 December was no different from any other. The politicians had known for more than a year that five hundred million dollars was to be spent on special equipment regarded as “Top Secret”, but all were desperate to ensure that ordinary Australians would be unable to identify the equipment itself, or indeed its purpose.

No matter how vital to national security the new special equipment might be, politicians knew there would be a public outcry when the SAS and other regiments later had their budgets deliberately slashed. Downgrading SAS and other army equipment to the point where individual survival on active service might become difficult or impossible, would produce an unwelcome Australian public backlash of unpredictable magnitude.

The $500 million was actually spent over a period of several months in 2002, during which six new highly specialized aircraft were delivered to a Royal Australian Air Force [RAAF] base located near Canberra, home of Australia's Federal Parliament. Later in this report we will tear away the veil of government secrecy completely, and examine this new “Top Secret” equipment in minute detail, because surface appearances can be very deceptive.

Delivery of the six aircraft was spaced out, with each arriving in Australia individually, normally under cover of darkness. Viewed from the outside, the mixed aircraft appeared to resemble two Boeing 737-800 long-range airliners, and four Bombardier Challenger 604 twinjets, but there the resemblance ended. Their actual purpose remained a mystery to members of the Australian public.

Security was so tight, that on one occasion Australian Prime Minister John Winston Howard [“President Winston” to his close friends], personally blocked eager media personnel who were trying to board the aircraft to take pictures. Puffing out his manly little chest, President Winston cited national security and had the photographers swiftly escorted out of the hangar. Obviously these aircraft were of huge importance to Australian national security, and so utterly secret that no ordinary Australian citizen would ever be allowed to look inside.

As you might expect, rumors started slowly circulating throughout the various Australian military units, with members of each unit predictably certain that the new aircraft were intended solely for “their” own use. Right at the top of this list were members of the SAS, who collectively comprise the “pointed tip” of the “sharp end” referred to by the politicians. Required to fly to “Muslim hot spots” instantly at the snap of George W. Bush’s evangelical finger in the ongoing Judeo-Christian Crusade against Islam, the Australian SAS traditionally boards a handful of truly ancient RAAF Boeing 707s for rapid transit to the Middle East.

To actually fly in one of these geriatric Boeings at all, is probably bravery above and beyond the call of duty, because one of their cousins suddenly dived into the Pacific Ocean a few years ago, killing its entire Australian crew. No one really found out why the 707 crashed because there wasn’t enough time for a Mayday call, but terminal metal fatigue seemed the most likely culprit. Ever since then, brave Australian troops obliged to fly in one of the creaking and groaning survivor 707s, invariably do so with white knuckles gripping the seats.

Bearing in mind the obvious dangers, it was no surprise when earlier this year members of the SAS became convinced that the new aircraft in Canberra were for their own exclusive use on special operations. This rumor had substance, because each of the latest Boeing 737-800s has a range of nearly 4,000 miles and can carry 173 soldiers, roughly the same number as the ancient Boeing 707s

Journalists are under fire for telling the truth

First it was Roger Ailes, the chairman of the Fox News Channel, who advised the US President to take the "harshest measures possible" against those who attacked America on 11 September, 2001.

Let us forget, for a moment, that Fox News's Jerusalem bureau chief is Uri Dan, a friend of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and the author of the preface of the new edition of Sharon's autobiography, which includes a revolting account of the Sabra and Chatila massacre of 1,700 Palestinian civilians and Sharon's innocence in this slaughter. Then Ted Koppel, one of America's leading news anchormen, announced that it may be a journalist's duty not to reveal events until the military want them revealed in a new war against Iraq.

Can we go any further in journalistic cowardice? Oh yes, we can. ABC television announced, a little while ago, that it knew all about the killing of four al-Qa'ida members by an unmanned "Predator" plane in Yemen but delayed broadcasting the news for four days "at the request of the Pentagon." So now at least we know for whom ABC works.

The Pentagon said that the murdered men – and let's not lose sight of the "murdered" bit, though that's not the word ABC used – were between "two to 20" of the top ranks of al-Qa'ida. Really? So were they numbers two, three, four and five in al-Qa'ida? Or numbers 17,18,19 and 20? Who cares? The press are onside. Don't ask who is resisting forthcoming US censorship of the Iraq war. Ask who is first to climb aboard the bandwagon.

Trekkies are not weird obsessives

It's official! We're not weird, we're perfectly normal - we just enjoy Star Trek! Besides, besides, Patrick Stewart is one of the greatest actors alive today. Forget Star Trek, if you've seen him play Shakespeare you'll know what I mean, the guy played the whole of Othello on HIS OWN and pulled it off spectacularly.

The crew of the Starship Enterprise have sprung to the defence of Trekkies -- No, they are not obsessive weirdos who need to get a life.

The message from Troi, Dana and Captain Jean-Luc Picard was the same: stop being mean to Star Trek fans.

Captain Kirk, alias Hollywood Star William Shatner, poked gentle fun at the Trekkies in his book "Get A Life," mocking their meticulous attention to detail in the five television series and 10 Star Trek movies.

But Patrick Stewart, the bald-headed classical actor who plays Captain Picard and bestrides the most famous bridge in space, was much more charitable about the Star Trek devotees.

Stewart, in London for the premiere of "Star Trek Nemesis" and the launch of a new Star Trek Exhibition, did concede: "There are a tiny percentage of Star Trek fans who might be categorised as obsessive."

But he defended the vast majority who revel in one of cinema's longest-running and most successful franchises that has earned more than $1 billion (630 million pounds) at the box office.

"I know fans who would not dream of missing an episode who are Vice Chancellors of Universities, internationally famous classical musicians, opera singers, celebrities, members of President Bush's cabinet, high-ranking members of the military," he told reporters.

The mystery assassin

"Mystery" my arse!

One of the mysterious aspects of the current crisis in Venezuela is who was behind the fatal shootings of three demonstrators taking part in a rally against the president, Hugo Chavez, earlier this month. Both sides are blaming the other for organising the attack and competing conspiracy theories have turned it into a Venezuelan equivalent of the Kennedy assassination.

A Portuguese-born taxi-driver, Joao De Gouveia, has already confessed to all three killings. On December 6, De Gouveia opened fire in Plaza Francia in Altamira, a centre for opposition protests. Josefina de Inciarte, 76, Keyla Guerra, a 17-year-old student and Professor Jaime Giraud, 53, were killed and are now seen as martyrs of the movement to remove Chavez. Thousands took part in marches in their memory last week.

De Gouveia was grabbed by demonstrators at the square after his gun appeared to jam and only rescued from a lynching by the police who took him into custody.

The American and British attack on Iraq has already begun. While the Blair government continues to claim in Parliament that "no final decision has been taken", Royal Air Force and US fighter bombers have secretly changed tactics and escalated their "patrols" over Iraq to an all-out assault on both military and civilian targets.

American and British bombing of Iraq has increased by 300 per cent. Between March and November, according to Ministry of Defence replies to MPs, the RAF dropped more than 124 tonnes of bombs.

From August to December, there were 62 attacks by American F-16 aircraft and RAF Tornadoes - an average of one bombing raid every two days. These are said to have been aimed at Iraqi "air defences", but many have fallen on mostly populated areas, where civilian deaths are unavoidable.

Under the United Nations Charter and the conventions of war and international law, the attacks amount to acts of piracy: no different, in principle, from the German Luftwaffe's bombing in Spain in the 1930s as precursor to its invasion of Europe.

Mandela condemns US over Iraq posturing

The former South African President and Nobel Peace Prize winner has demanded the US respect the authority of the United Nations.

Mandela says the United States only went to the Security Council as an afterthought, but called the eventual decision to work through the United Nations "a welcome relief."

"We would want to urgently appeal to the US and its leadership to demonstrate their strength in the world by respect for those democratic principles they hold dear in their domestic affairs," Mandela told delegates at the African National Congress' party convention.

After strong lobbying from the US government, the UN Security Council sent weapons inspectors to Iraq to determine whether that nation has abandoned its efforts to produce biological, chemical and nuclear weapons.

As the inspectors continue their work, the United States has begun mobilising troops in the region for possible military action against the Middle Eastern nation.

Mandela, who also criticised Britain's support for US policy on Iraq and said he hoped the United States would refrain from unilateral action and respect the authority of the Security Council.

Mossad Exposed in Phony 'Palestinian Al-Qaeda' Caper

The United States government has been provided with concrete evidence that the Israeli Mossad and other Israeli intelligence services have been involved in a 13-month effort to "recruit" an Israeli-run, phony "al-Qaeda cell" among Palestinians, so that Israel could achieve a frontline position in the U.S. war against terrorism and get a green light for a worldwide "revenge without borders" policy. The question: Does the United States have the moral fiber to investigate?

Evidence of the Israeli dirty tricks burst onto the public scene on Dec. 6, when Col. Rashid Abu Shbak, head of the Palestinian Preventive Security Services in the Gaza Strip, held a press conference revealing the details of the alleged plot, as his agency had put the pieces together. The revelations undermine the "big lie" that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has used to justify new brutal attacks on Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip and other occupied areas. Sharon claimed on Dec. 4 that Israeli intelligence had "hard evidence" of al-Qaeda operations in the Gaza Strip. Now, the top Palestinian leadership has shown the United States and other nations how Israeli intelligence entities were creating that al-Qaeda link!

Dutch authorities ignored threats to Pim Fortuyn

Another great example of a "lone nut" assasinating a political figure who was ready to challenge the establishment. Fishy...

Negligent government and law enforcement bodies failed to protect the assassinated Dutch anti-immigration politician Pim Fortuyn, despite clear warnings, an independent inquiry concluded yesterday.

But no amount of police protection would necessarily have prevented Fortuyn, who hated security, being shot by an animal rights activist, its report adds.

The report, drafted by an Amsterdam judge, says the inquiry did not seek to apportion blame for Fortuyn's death. Nevertheless, it says that the police, civil servants, government ministers and the secret service were all guilty of shortcomings.

Fortuyn fell victim, it suggests, to the Netherlands' famously open society, in which only the prime minister receive special protection.

Alarm at 'EU Pentagon' plan

More evidence that the EU is really a step on the road to first a European quasi-fascist super-state, next we'll have the same thing but on a global level!

The European Union is drawing up plans for a "Euro-Pentagon" in Brussels commanded by a defence chief able to launch military operations anywhere in the world.

The proposals call for an EU defence secretary with responsibility for running operations.

His staff would be able to draw on an autonomous EU command and control nexus and an intelligence agency with satellite capability.

They are to be published today by the defence working group of the Convention on the Future of Europe. They will form the basis of the military section in the EU's draft constitution next June.

The group was chaired by the French commissioner Michel Barnier, who has been accused of playing down contributions from those opposed to a European army.

British objections appear to have been ignored in the final draft, though footnotes allude to intense disagreements among the group's members.

At 10AM on Friday the 13th, A combined task force from the Secret Service, FBI, CIA, and Major Crimes Unit raided a Long Island home believed to be that of the political essayist who writes under the pen name Voxfux.

There were simultaneous raids at several locations throughout New York City and Brooklyn.

Voxfux is represented by Norman Seigal (From NYCLU). The civil rights lawyer Ron Cuby is also involved in the discussions.

Later in the day Vox was interviewed at an undisclosed location with Amy Goodman from the radio program Democracy Now.

There has been no formal charges presented so far. Neighbors were issued orders to contact the Authorities upon seeing or hearing from the man believed to be behind the caustic pen.

A neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of violating any orders of the combined law enforcement effort, spoke praises of her neighbor, "There's no way he's a terrorist, he's a sweetheart, I don't believe it for one minute. I've known him for seventeen years. He's an artist and a writer. This is rediculous."

The reports emanating from the Middle East that some 1200 Israeli citizens working at the World Trade Center failed to show up for work on September 11 have been widely scoffed at. However, an early report that U.S. officials would investigate the allegation has been followed by stone silence. Any investigation should begin by checking the roster of occupants of the WTC for Israeli residents. And, remember, American Jews can become Israeli citizens and maintain their U.S. citizenship.

Eighty-one countries are represented among the dead and missing in the September 11 disaster. So far, not one Israeli citizen has been listed among the victims. Is it possible that the complex of buildings housing the global center of international business, banking and commerce contained no Israeli citizens on September 11, on a working day morning?

Those of us familiar with the Middle East know the Israeli Mossad intelligence organization is considered among the most efficient, the most dedicated and the most ruthless in the world. From the earliest days of the existence of the state of Israel Mossad was given state-sponsored freedom and encouragement to do whatever was necessary to guarantee Israeli security. And that is what Mossad has done all over the world.

I know I'm wasting my breath, guys, but let's try one more time: When you drive a people into hopelessness and desperation, you not only make them angry, you make them feel they have nothing to lose. When you will not listen to their grievances, you convince them that killing people on your side, anyone at all that they can get their hands on, is the only way to make you listen.

Of course, we should not be surprised. This is the same Ariel Sharon who is trying the exact same strategy, on only a slightly smaller scale, in the occupied Palestinian territories. It could be summed up, "Keep killing more of them till they stop killing us." And how's it working for you, Ariel? I haven't yet heard of a suicide bombing in Israel today, but that could be because the day is still young.

Rhetorical question: Who is more clueless, Sharon or Bush? All right, it's a stupid question, since no instrument could ever be expected to measure a difference that small. Both of these half-wits have their fingers on nuclear arsenals. Where, I wonder, in the world could anyone go and feel reasonably safe from them? Are there any jobs in Antarctica?

Mossad Links to Cheriegate

The daily diet of stories about Cherie Blair and her dealings with the conman, Peter Foster, has, according to the Independent on Sunday, led to her husband backing a new anti-sleaze law.

Worried at the mistrust of politicians being made worse by the fortnight of intense scrutiny of his wife's affairs, the prime minister apparently wants MPs to be made subject to the same anti-corruption laws as other public officials.

The legislation is being drawn up by his Home Secretary, David Blunkett, and should be ready next year...

The Sunday Express claims Mr Foster was ready to sell secrets of his dealings with Mrs Blair to the Israeli secret service, Mossad.

Intelligence sources have told the paper that Mossad was also interested in Mr Foster's girlfriend, Carole Caplin, because - as Mrs Blair's so-called life-style guru - she has close links to the family.

This will be a big week for Iraq and all those who wish to bomb it. Since last summer's heady excitements, when George Bush seemed ready to go Saddam-hunting all on his ownsome, Washington hawks and assorted birds of prey have endured a series of false dawns.

First there was their rising hope that the UN security council, challenged by Bush in September to put up or shut up, would fail to agree a common course of action. That would have left the way clear for the US, claiming prior authority, to fire at will. But resolution 1441, passed on November 8 and mandating resumed weapons inspections, frustrated beaky avian hopes of early morning glory.

Next came the seven-day deadline for Iraq's full, unconditional acceptance of the UN's onerous new rules. Vultures gathering on the Potomac shore figured the terms were just too tough. Maybe Saddam could live with foreign busybodies clutching clipboards and bleeping gadgets zooming around the country like so many misguided Scuds. Maybe Iraq's famously paranoid dictator would be able, just, to ignore the humiliating media circus that followed the UN parade.

But surely even he, grimly locked though he is into best behaviour mode, would baulk at the prospect of Hans Blix plodding portentously through presidential palace boudoirs, magnifying glass in hand like a latterday Holmes, looking for the dog that didn't bark? No sir. Slippery Saddam disappointed them all. He met the deadline with time to spare and, in febrile US imaginings at least, went off to run an acid bath.

A Father Pleads For Marine Son

War is about people killing and people being killed. There's no glory in killing a weaker enemy, no honour in the theft of a nation's resources. For all the evil which is Saddam Hussein and Osama bin CIA, why can we not look at those undeniably evil men who empowered, armed, supported and financed them? The same evil men who now mislead the general population into thinking Saddam is evil incarnate rather than they themselves - and whatever happened to evil Osama? How many more people must pay the ultimate price so that these evil and utterly repulsive men can grow even fatter and more wealthy? Must the human species still conduct its affairs with this naked brutality? How can those evil men sleep at night knowing that the sheets they sleep under, the bed they sleep on and the house they sleep in are tainted with the blood of innocent people?

If Saddam is evil it is only a reflection of the greater evil which created, nurtured and sustained him.

My son Joe is an Arab language trained radio reconnaissance commando in the Marines. I have attached a picture of Joe and me on the last weekend I saw him before he shipped out to the Middle East. I was lucky enough to find a last minute flight to North Carolina, so I could spend a weekend with Joe on the outer banks. We body surfed, rode bikes and relaxed -- as if the world wasn't crashing around us.

Joe was convinced that he would soon end up in Iraq.

I don't want any of our sons and daughters to die for oil interests and Bush's political gain. I certainly don't want Joe to get hurt, or to have to hurt someone else, because George Bush's ego and his financial backers won't allow a reasoned, multi-lateral approach to the situation with Iraq. And I don't want innocent Iraqi women, men and children to die.

I was outside a store the other day, listening to the clerk talk to two customers about the possibility of war. The clerk was arguing against unilateral action, questioning the line put out by the administration. The two customers were both saying that we should attack now. I wanted to go in, and show them Joe's picture and say, “This is my son. He might die in your war. Now tell me why this has to be done.”

But I didn't. And I regret it.

War is wrong, violence is wrong and unless we speak out against it, it will continue to plague this earth. There is no right and no wrong in war, if you wage war for whatever reason then you are wrong, evil and immoral. And don't even try and give me that "WW2 was right because we were protecting the world from fascism" BULLSHIT. WW2 was contrived, encouraged and executed by people who stood to gain enormously from it; the same group of totalitarian bastards who are behind this war and are manipulating the population!

USA intelligence agencies revealed in plot to oust Venezuela's President

VHeadline.com : Thursday, December 12, 2002 -- Uruguayan EP-FA congressman Jose Bayardi says he has information that far-reaching plans have been put into operation by the CIA and other North American intelligence agencies to overthrow Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Frias within the next 72 hours.

Bayardi says he has received copies of top-secret communications between the Bush administration in Washington and the government of Uruguay requesting the latter's cooperation to support white collar executives and trade union activists "to break down levels of intransigence within the Chavez Frias administration."

In an interview with reporters from the Uruguyan newspaper La Juventud, Bayardi says he observes a domestic-political situation in Venezuela which could easily erupt into a civil war and bloodbath ... "the whole process is a shocking reminder of what happened in Chile in 1973 ... I sincerely hope it does not come to that!"

Bayardi says he does not foresee any immediate foreign military intervention in the Venezuelan situation but warns of a possible escalation if the opposition gets the upper hand over constitutional law and order.

"The problem is that Venezuelan television and major newspapers have been hiding the true fact that there are huge popular uprisings in support of the Chavez Frias government ... now that Venezuelans are beginning to understand that they have been duped by the anti-government media, they are demanding that these information channels should begin to tell the truth!"

A New Pearl Harbour?

If you still think that the Americans didn't know Pearl Harbour was going to happen then you need to do a lot more reading! There are so many unanswered questions, official evasions and downright lies that it lends a great deal of credence to the people who say that there is something extremely fishy going on. I would love to believe what the Powers that Be tell us, but I don't.

The threat posed by US terrorism to the security of nations and individuals was outlined in prophetic detail in a document written more than two years ago and disclosed only recently. What was needed for America to dominate much of humanity and the world's resources, it said, was "some catastrophic and catalysing event - like a new Pearl Harbor". The attacks of 11 September 2001 provided the "new Pearl Harbor", described as "the opportunity of ages". The extremists who have since exploited 11 September come from the era of Ronald Reagan, when far-right groups and "think-tanks" were established to avenge the American "defeat" in Vietnam. In the 1990s, there was an added agenda: to justify the denial of a "peace dividend" following the cold war. The Project for the New American Century was formed, along with the American Enterprise Institute, the Hudson Institute and others that have since merged the ambitions of the Reagan administration with those of the current Bush regime.

One of George W Bush's "thinkers" is Richard Perle. I interviewed Perle when he was advising Reagan; and when he spoke about "total war", I mistakenly dismissed him as mad. He recently used the term again in describing America's "war on terror". "No stages," he said. "This is total war. We are fighting a variety of enemies. There are lots of them out there. All this talk about first we are going to do Afghanistan, then we will do Iraq... this is entirely the wrong way to go about it. If we just let our vision of the world go forth, and we embrace it entirely and we don't try to piece together clever diplomacy, but just wage a total war... our children will sing great songs about us years from now."

Was Irv Rubin Killed In 911 Mop-Up?

I might not agree with anything Irv Rubin stood for, I also think that he was a terrorist. However, everyone has a right to their opinion and to express that opinion as long as they don't hurt anyone else. This is a good example of how the Elite is quite happy to kill people who do their bidding as well as the innocent people who suffer from their insane policies.

Did the late Irv Rubin have inside knowledge about the fact that Israeli intelligence operatives were trailing the alleged 9-11 hijackers while they were "on the ground" in California?

When JDL chief Irv Rubin's friends cry that their leader may have been murdered in federal custody, they may not be far off the mark. Rubin may have known too much for his own good and threatened to reveal-during his scheduled trial-his Mossad connection.

Undoubtedly, Rubin and his henchman, Earl Krugel, were as surprised as anybody when the Justice Department charged them last year with conspiring to blow up a mosque and the office of Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.).

For years Rubin and Krugel and the JDL were almost "untouchable," given free rein to practice their terrorist activities with virtually no sanction whatsoever.

As such, there appears to be a lot more to the quite unexpected indictment of Rubin and Krugel than meets the eye.

Sharon Threatens Global Nuclear War

With everyone so concerned about what nukes Saddam MIGHT have, nobody seems the least bit interested in the nukes Israel DOES have. Plus with that fascist nutcase in charge that makes Israel the most dangerous nation on Earth.

If there is one nation on this planet that deserves to be described and dealt with as a rogue state, armed with weapons of mass destruction and intent on using them, it is Israel, under the terror reign of war criminal Ariel Sharon.

If this was a matter of assertion or conjecture in the past, statements coming out of top Israeli officials in the past days have eliminated any cause for hesitation.

On June 26, the Israeli newspaper of record, Ha'aretz, cited two top Israeli space scientists, who declared that Israel now has the capacity to fire missiles at targets anywhere on earth. Prof. Moshe Gelman, head of the Asher Institute at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, boasted to Ha'aretz that "From the moment the State of Israel has the capability to launch a satellite into orbit around the earth at a height of hundreds of kilometers, it established [its] capability to launch, by means of a missile, a payload to any location on the face of the earth."

Dr. Gelman's words were seconded by Avi Har-Even, the director-general of the Israeli Space Agency (ISA), which recently launched the Ofek 5 satellite, who told Ha'aretz's Amnon Barzilai that the Ofek 5 launch had two strategic objectives: providing Israel with an independent spy satellite capability to monitor military activities in targeted countries throughout the entire Near East. "The second involves Israel's launch capabilities."

IRA torturer was in the Royal Marines

It's getting really hard to tell the difference between the "terrorists" and the government agents... I mean how many of those bloody people are really who they say they are!?!

He was one of the most feared men inside the Provisional IRA. To rank-and-file 'volunteers', a knock on the door from John Joe Magee was the equivalent of a visit from the Angel of Death.

However, court documents leaked to the Sunday Herald show that Magee, head of the IRA's infamous 'internal security unit', was trained as a member of Britain's special forces. The IRA's 'torturer-in-chief' was in reality one of the UK's most elite soldiers.

The documents, lodged as part of a court action being taken against the British government by a disgruntled military intelligence agent, name Magee as a 'former member of the Special Boat Squadron'.

Sweden Offers Free Speech Refuge To US Officials

Fake news but funny anyway....

Blaine Williams hasn't stopped grinning since he arrived in Sweden two weeks ago. Several times a day he'll approach a complete stranger, offer a handshake and a smile, introduce himself as a former CIA analyst from America, and proceed to tell the bewildered Swede all the things he knows that directly contradict President George W. Bush's declarations about Saddam Hussein's intentions and capabilities.

"Free at last!" Williams exclaimed to a reporter as he sat on his front porch and waved to new neighbors. "I was stuck in a totalitarian bureaucracy for 14 months. What a relief it is to say in public who I am and what I think."

Williams is the first of dozens of former U.S. government employees expected to take refuge in Sweden over the next several months, courtesy of a bold project of the new social democratic government.

On October 15, the Swedish Parliament appropriated 500 million dollars for the "Palme Plan." Named for former Swedish president Olaf Palme, it promotes the virtues of free and honest speech among government officials in underdeveloped democracies.

I hate to say it but I have to agree with them on that one. I'm not saying that there isn't a lot about North Korea that puts me off, but this kind of mass propaganda is just stupid and pointless, plus it makes all of us who live in the UK and US who aren't mindless brainwashed idiots look like we are. The film is good, apart from the political stuff which is just a blatant attempt to sell the whole Bush/Poodle Doctrine. Basically it shows you how controlled Hollywood is by The Powers that Be!

The gadgets are great and both Bond girls are complete babes and Aston Martin deserve a big hug for producing a car that even a non-car-driving person -like me- thinks is nice. BUT, I miss the Bond bad guy being an independent ultra-rich nutcase like Scaramanga or Blofeld with some megalomaniacal complex about either taking-over or poisoning the planet. And what the hell happened to SPECTRE anyway?? But I guess that doesn't fit with the "accepted" world-view at the moment so we have to swallow the shyt that Smellywood tells us, NOT!

Fictional North Korean agents torture the British spy in his new film, and now Pyongyang is angry for real.

The film - starring Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry - "clearly proves" the US is "the root cause of all disasters and misfortune of the Korean nation" and is "an empire of evil", according to the Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland.

In his 20th adventure, Bond tries to stop an illegal arms deal between a South African diamond smuggler and evil North Korean officer, Colonel Moon, feared to be planning an invasion of South Korea and then Japan.

Like I keep saying, 1984 was just a typo!

The US government has a new objective in its war on terrorism, an objective it calls "total information awareness". This is a very creepy expression, but it suits the creepy nature of the government's intention, which is to find out absolutely everything about absolutely everybody and store all the information on a "virtual centralised grand database" in the Pentagon. The idea is that, if you know everything about everyone and are able to analyse this knowledge correctly, you should then be able to identify potential terrorists and prevent them doing whatever it is they are about to do.

The Orwellian nature of this scheme has not escaped notice in the US. The columnist William Safire, once a speechwriter for President Nixon and hardly a leftie, has called it "the supersnoop's dream", in which "every purchase you make with a credit card, every magazine subscription you buy and medical prescription you fill, every email you send or receive, every bank deposit you make, every trip you book" will go into the database. The New Yorker has warned that this could help to destroy "the last vestiges of individual and family privacy".

There are doubtless many people who think that practically any sacrifice, even of fundamental civil liberties, is worth it if it helps to put an end to terrorist atrocities. But even they cannot feel reassured by the impenetrable "newspeak" that is used to describe every aspect of the new "Information Awareness Office of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency of the Department of Defense". The logo displayed on its website is already spooky enough - a mystic eye at the top of a pyramid, illuminating the globe. Beneath is a portentous slogan in Latin, "Scientia est Potentia" ("Knowledge is Power"). You can tell already that the IAO thinks of itself as something more than just a section of a section within a sprawling bureaucracy. Then comes its mission statement: "The Information Awareness Office will imagine, develop, apply, integrate, demonstrate and transition [sic] information technologies, components and prototype, closed-loop, information systems that will counter asymmetric threats by achieving total information awareness useful for pre-emption; national security warning; and national security decision making." It would have been clearer had it simply described its mission as electronic snooping on an unprecedented scale. It makes no bones about this. "The key to fighting terrorism is information," it explains.

Our self-righteous prime minister is complicit in the endless atrocities in Chechnya

The corpse of someone you do not know is not necessarily a frightening or moving sight, unless some detail brings it home that this stranger was a breathing, thinking, laughing being.
It was like that at a common grave for civilians killed in the Russian bombardment of Grozny in early 1995. When I visited, on VE Day, there were about 700 dead already buried. A dozen bodies were being dug out of the rubble each day, and a Russian policeman was carrying out instant postmortems.

The victims were mainly elderly, wrapped up against the cold in clothes that were already ragged even before the dust and blood caked them. They were grey all over, lumpy, anonymised. I don't know why, but when the policeman, Dima, thrust his gloved forefinger into one of the dead men's mouths and pulled it aside to look at the teeth, the corpse became human again, and the shame and sadness of Russia's state murder of its own people burned in the heart.

It was eight years ago last week that Boris Yeltsin and his ministers ordered the Russian army to restore Moscow's control over Chechnya, a region incorporated into the Tsarist empire by force in the 19th century and mercilessly scoured by Stalin. The army failed in 1994. It is failing now. In the course of this failure, tens of thousands of civilians have been slaughtered, crippled, raped or robbed, and young chancers on both sides have come to hallow terrorism, kidnapping and murder with the cause of nationalism and religion.

There is something else which has not changed: the failure of western governments - the British government prominent among them - to treat Russia's Chechen crimes as the hideous charge sheet against Yeltsin and his successor, Vladimir Putin, that they are. It seemed vile enough back on VE Day 1995 - the 50th anniversary of the end of the second world war - when Bill Clinton and John Major were jollying with Yeltsin in Moscow while the corpses were stacking up in mass graves in Grozny. That was a mere five months into Moscow's struggle with Chechnya. Now, eight years on, Britain has a leader unparalleled in self-righteousness where the oppressed of the world are concerned - in Kosovo, in Iraq, in Afghanistan. On Chechnya, he is worse than silent: he is complicit in the horror by his effusive, superfluous warmth towards Putin.

The Fabulous Revolution of OZ

Americans are always revolting. It's just a matter of what they're revolting against. Give an American something to kick about, some grievance to repulse, and he's happy as a lark.

Of late, Americans have fallen onto bad times because we've lost all sense of direction in our revolting. So, as usual, I am going to provide the answer: A New Revolution.

We need something Spectacular, a really New concept of Revolution. What have Americans revolted against? Well,

- the British (the First Revolution)
- spatial restrictions (the Westward Expansion)
- Bad Times (the '29 Depression)
- our principles (the last fifty years)

We're in such deplorable straits these days because we've revolted against all our original Ideals: an informed electorate, government by consent of the governed, honesty in government and electorate, and freedom through unity. Keeping ourselves informed, free, and the rest, was too hard - so we revolted against the whole shebang. Result: a nation of revolting people who only watch TV and think and do whatever we're told.

So what should we now revolt against?

A Fort Bend County woman files a lawsuit on former Governor and current sitting President George W. Bush.

Margie Schoedinger of Missouri City, Texas has filed a lawsuit against George W. Bush in Fort Bend County Court. In her suit she is alleging "race based harassment and individual sex crimes committed against her and her husband." The suit lists numerous offenses and asks for actual damages, punitive damages and judgments against George W. Bush.

In her suit, among the many allegations, she has stated, "On or about, October 26, 2000, an attempt was made to abduct Plaintiff (Schoedinger) by three unknown assailants. Because of the actions of these assailants, Sugar Land police officers were dispatched to the scene. In the end, no report was taken. The assailants were treated respectfully and allowed to go free while Plaintiff (Schoedinger) was repeatedly and aggressively questioned. After filing a lawsuit, the Plaintiff’s family and past contacts were questioned and harassed." As a result, Plaintiff dismissed Plaintiff’s lawsuit. Irrespective of Plaintiff dismissing the lawsuit, the harassment continued." Schoedinger, goes on to allege "at some point, she contacted the Houston office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, filing a raced based harassment complaint, advising that the Sugar Land Police Department may or may not be harassing Plaintiff on behalf of her neighbors in Sugar Land or possibly on behalf of the First Colony Community Services Association."

Cover-up of Convenience: The Hidden Scandal of Lockerbie

John Ashton’s and Ian Ferguson’s work on the circumstances surrounding the destruction on December 21, 1988, of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland is worthy of careful study. It raises serious doubts, not only regarding the recent conviction of the Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, now incarcerated in Barlinnie jail, Glasgow, but over the entire official presentation of events before and after the crash, from 1988 to the present day. They give indicators as to how the full facts regarding the atrocity which killed 270, perhaps 271, people might be uncovered and conclude with a series of searching questions which any genuinely independent inquiry into the Lockerbie disaster should direct toward various governments, intelligence services, and individuals.

Ashton and Ferguson have followed Lockerbie for years. Ashton worked as the deputy to the late British film maker Allan Francovich, whose film The Maltese Double Cross, examined various alternative scenarios that have been advanced as an explanation for the Lockerbie disaster, favouring that the bombing was a consequence of a CIA controlled drug running operation utilised to spy on Palestinian, Lebanese and Syrian armed political groupings and factions.

Ferguson is a journalist, who has written many articles on Lockerbie, and along with Scottish lawyer Robert Black, architect of the Camp Zeist trial, maintains the www.thelockerbietrial.com website.

US intelligence agencies secretly broke a UN arms embargo during the 1991-1995 war in Croatia by channelling arms through Islamist jihad groups that Washington is now hunting across Europe and Asia, according to evidence from the Netherlands.

The evidence surfaced in a section of the official Dutch report on the 1995 Srebrenica massacre that led to the fall of the Dutch government and the resignation of its army chief.

The report reveals how the Pentagon formed a secret alliance with Islamist groups in an Iran-Contra-style operation.

US, Turkish and Iranian intelligence groups worked with the Islamists in what the Dutch report calls the "Croatian pipeline". Arms bought by Iran and Turkey and financed by Saudi Arabia were flown into Croatia initially by Iran Air and then in a fleet of C-130 Hercules aircraft.

The report says mujahideen fighters were also flown in and that the US was "very closely involved" in the operation.

CIA Behind Moscow Terrorists

A senior writer in the PA's official daily claims that the attack in Moscow by Islamic terrorists was a CIA plot. According to the writer, the US hopes that having the Russians suffer a Muslim terror attack will convince them to vote with the US in the UN in support of attacking Iraq. France, who also has been opposing the US on the coming UN vote, may be next in line to suffer a Muslim terrorist attack initiated by the US, according to the Palestinian Authority daily.

The following is from the text of the article: "[Russian] President Putin's ambassador to the Security Council is threatening to vote against the American's proposed resolution to attack Iraq. This is how we view the operation in the Moscow theater; we are of the opinion that the sympathy and friendship that bond Washington to several Islamic movements in Europe, among them the Chechens, cannot possibly be one-sided and there has to be some sort of repayment of the American friendship by the "Mujahedin" [quotes in source] of Chechnya, Bosnia, Hercegovina and Kosovo. The CIA will never acknowledge its responsibility for this operation which claimed over 170 lives, including those of the perpetrators.... However, the American message reached Moscow and was, perhaps, read the same way by the decision makers in France, who oppose the American pressure in the Security Council and insistently resist giving the Americans an international power of attorney to destroy the most ancient of Arab countries.

Did Saddam's army test poison gas on missing 5,000?

Why didn't Tony Blair and George Bush mention Saddam Hussein's most terrible war crime? Why, in all their "dossiers", did they not refer to the 5,000 young men and women who were held at detention centres when their families – of Iranian origin – were hurled over the border to Iran just before President Saddam invaded Iran in 1980?

Could it be because these 5,000 young men and women were used for experiments in gas and biological warfare agents whose ingredients were originally supplied by the United States?

Just months before his September 1980 invasion of Iran – in which tens of thousands of Iranian soldiers died an appalling death by gas burns and blisters – Saddam's Interior Ministry issued directive No 2884, dated 10 April 1980, stating that "all youths aged between 18 and 28 are exempt from deportation and must be held at detention centres until further notice".

CIA and MI5 linked to Hammarskjöld death

I wasn't even alive when this happened but it's always seemed like something else was going on, Hammarskjöld was the second ever head head of the UN and probably the only UN Secretary General who ever actually tried to do his job properly. He was mediating a solution to the conflict in Congo (engineered by the CIA) when his plane crashed while landing at Ndola airport in Zambia. Anytime I hear that someone important has died in either a plane or a car "accident" it sets off alarm bells like you wouldn't believe! All of this also relates to what Diana called the British Crown's "nefarious activities in Africa".

Anyone who tries to get in Their way will die, it's as simple as that.

Documents the Truth Commission stumbled across linking South African agents to the airline death of UN chief Dag Hammarskjöld, also reveal that the project was hatched at the highest levels of the CIA and MI5.

The alleged plot to assassinate United Nations secretary general Dag Hammarskjöld 37 years ago was the brainchild of at least two British security agencies — MI5 and the Special Operations Executive — and the CIA, top-secret documents show.

For once, apartheid's dirty tricks brigade appears to have been falsely accused of involvement in the murder.

A series of messages between a commodore and a captain, whose names have been expunged by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, point to a plot hatched on South African soil by a group which had access to vast amounts of money and the ability to muster mercenary forces to protect international investment in turbulent post-colonial Africa.

The messages, all on letterheads of the South Africa Institute for Maritime Research (SAIMR), cover the period from July 1960 to September 17 1961 — the day on which Hammarskjöld's aircraft crashed while approaching the airport at Ndola in the then Northern Rhodesia.

In addition to outlining Operation Celeste — the plan to get rid of the "troublesome" Hammarskjöld — the documents implicate the SAIMR and international intelligence agencies in the death of Patrice Lumumba, the pro-communist first president of the Congo. Lumumba was deposed in September 1960 and allegedly shot while escaping from custody in the breakaway province of Katanga in 1961.

The documents, found by a truth commission researcher investigating an apparently unrelated matter, implicate then CIA chief Allen Dulles in Operation Celeste. They also claim that the explosives used for the bomb that downed the aircraft were supplied by a Belgian mining conglomerate, Union Miniere. The company had extensive interests in copper-rich Katanga, and is known to have backed to Tshombe's use of mercenaries, including the group led by South Africa's Colonel "Mad Mike" Hoare.

Argentina defaults on loans again

Argentina will default for a second time on a $700m (£441m) payment due to the World Bank, effectively isolating the country from all major international lenders.

"We are not going to pay," Cabinet Chief Alfredo Atanasof told reporters.

The default comes almost a year to the day that rioting over the economic policies of President Fernando de la Rua caused him to resign.

Argentina is now considered to be in the same league as Iraq in terms of defaulting on multilateral loans.

Low Flying Plane 'Sneaked' in Under Radar to Bomb Coast Hotel

Yet another obscure news report which contradicts the official line. Now they're talking about a small plane flying overhead and dropping cluster bombs on the Hotel. We're talking about seriously well organised "terrorists" here; a small plane dropping cluster bombs, a Pajero loaded with explosives, suicide bombers, two SA7-Strela missiles fired at a commercial plane, and all they managed to do was kill 15 people? The only Israelis killed were some kids who had walked in to watch the dancers, otherwise it would only have been the Kenyan dancers! How likely is that, really? If they were so well organised you would have thought that one of the missiles would, at the very least, have hit the plane! It just doesn't add up people!

A light aircraft spotted hovering over the Paradise Hotel dropping bombs as it crossed the early morning sky returned to safety inside neighbouring Somalia after accomplishing its mission, well informed sources said.

The plane had flown with its cargo all the way from Somalia into Kenyan airspace, having taken off from Mogadishu as part of the highly co-ordinated terrorist attack on the Israeli-owned Paradise Hotel tourist resort at Kikambala, north of Mombasa, our sources said.

One of the cluster bombs dropped by the plane missed its target and fell into the sprawling hotel's swimming pool and did not explode. It was recovered later by intelligence officials and is said to have been behind the brief differences between Kenya and Israeli officials over its custody. It is understood it was eventually taken by FBI agents for analysis.

Kenyan police have been issuing contradictory statements over the light plane angle. At one time, they said no bombs were dropped, only to say later they were looking for three planes which flew past the hotel around the time of the terrorist attack. Twelve people, including the terrorists themselves, were killed in the 8.35 am Thursday morning explosion that destroyed the entire Paradise Hotel, which is owned by an Israeli and where a large number of Israeli tourists were checking in.

See, I told you 1984 was a typo!

No one has ever accused the Bush administration of being forthcoming. Even before it took power, its various spokespeople were celebrating tight-lippedness, promising to end the leaks that keep the press in business - and, to a large extent, American citizens informed. In short, we were told, the ascension of George W. Bush would usher in a new way of doing business, information-wise.

One might applaud the Bushies for truth in advertising - they said there would be less unauthorized information about its activities, and lo, there is less information. Vice President Dick Cheney, for instance, has prevented any interested eyes from seeing the details of his "energy plan" meetings, and White House spokesman Ari Fleischer has become a minor celebrity for his ability to speak for hours without revealing a thing. And the president himself has managed to get through almost two years of office, one terrorist attack and one-going-on-two wars with only a handful of press conferences and few non-scripted appearances.

But this penchant for secrecy has lately veered toward obfuscation, misdirection and the deliberate rewriting of history. Instead of saying nothing, the administration has taken a much more aggressive and, in the long run, harmful approach: deleting facts from reports and trying to influence or predetermine the outcome of intelligence, research and science.

Bali Bomb - Lawyers convinced 'something fell from sky'

Now this is interesting, the report partially concurs with the Vialls Report, but instead of suggesting that the second "high-tech" device - probably some sort of SADM micro-nuke according to Vialls - was planted in a sewer, they suggest that "something fell from the sky". In either case this is more credible than the "car bomb" story because no car bomb will ever create a 5 foot deep crater, it's a physical impossibility. A bomb dropped from an aircraft (ultra-new stealthy plane?) would cause a crater that deep. In some ways I think it is more likely that the device was a bomb dropped from a stealthy aircraft, it would be much easier for those ultimately manipulating the guys who planted the conventional explosives. Maybe they parked a vehicle on the spot and then dropped the bomb through it (a la Tom Clancy's "The Sum of All Fears") to make it look like a huge carbomb... Given that all the rubble has been dumped far out to see we won't be able to tell if the micro-nuke theory was correct. The western media is focusing on warnings that didn't get passed on and is blindly ignoring this and other evidence that suggests this bombing was not the work of Islamic "terrorists". The guys in custody are patsies pure and simple, I'm sure they were responsible for the conventional blasts but the main one, the real killer could not have been made by them, it was simply too complex and powerful a bomb.

The more news that comes out about the Bali Bombing the less I am inclined to believe the official story, it simple doesn't add up. They are playing the usual game of repeating the same inaccurate shyt endlessly until everyone simply accepts it as fact. They honestly think we're all idiots who they can dismiss as "kooks"!

A lawyer representing Imam Samudra, who is being detained by police for his alleged role in planning the Oct. 12 Legian bombings, has expressed skepticism over their client's ability to assemble the explosives, saying the police should have the suspect re-enact his role in the events leading up to the powerful bombing.

The lawyer also alleged that Imam Samudra and the other suspects had been manipulated by a "third party", which wanted to force the nation to accept its own political agenda regarding the existence of terrorist networks and the discrediting of Islam in Indonesia.

"Our concern particularly lies in the fact that the suspects have confessed to acquiring materials and assembling the explosives. But these are materials that would be used for a conventional bomb while media reports and experts have described the bomb that exploded in front of the Sari Club in Kuta as a high-tech device of great power," Achmad Mihdan of the Muslim Lawyers' Team (TPM) told The Jakarta Post here on Tuesday.

According to Achmad, the only way to reassure himself and his colleagues, the public and law enforcers themselves would be for the police to have the suspect re-enact his role in the bombing.

Imam Samudra, whose real name is Abdul Azis, has admitted to planning the bombing of Paddy's and the Sari Club in Kuta, as well as assembling the bombs.

"We remain skeptical that the explosives our client claimed he assembled could have produced a blast as powerful as one resulting from a bomb made from RDX, for example," Mihdan said.

Mihdan, accompanied by four other TPM lawyers -- Qadhar Faisal, Made Rachman Marasabessy, Nasrun Kalianda and Andi Windu -- was speaking after their arrival here on Tuesday. The lawyers also paid a visit on Insp. Gen. I Made Mangku Pastika, who heads the police team investigating the Bali blasts.

"There is also a possibility that the bomb in Kuta was made of two separate types of explosives, conventional and hi-tech ones. The suspects are supposed to take responsibility for the conventional one while the hi-tech was, somehow, implanted by those who manipulated our clients. And our clients might know nothing about this manipulation. The police should also take this possibility into consideration," he said.

"There is an eyewitness who saw something fall from the sky right before the explosion," he added.

Coming to the hyperpower capital from peace-torn Europe, I find three things. Washington is at war. Washington is going to war. And Washington is starting to think about a peace to end both wars. People in Britain, and the world beyond, need to wake up to all three.

There is some confusion here between two wars. Sometimes when Washingtonians say "the war" they mean the war against terrorism, which they are still living intensely in everyday life. Sometimes they mean the coming war with Iraq. WT and WI, as a friend tags them.

The most pressing conclusion is that Washington is going to war against Saddam Hussein. Saddam's solemn claim that he has no more weapons of mass destruction is a blow to those who still hoped for a peaceful solution and a gift to those who think toppling him by force of arms is the only path to effective disarmament. My clear impression from talking to people inside and close to the Bush administration is that this war - WI - is now a matter of when and how rather than whether.

She stood up to defend herself - but much more to get Tony Blair off the hook of corruption. He is the true target of criticism, and, like a dutiful wife, she took the rap.

Cherie Blair has been foolish, lacking in judgment and just plain daft. Last night, she pleaded guilty to all those failings. Never mind that she was 40 minutes late for her own funeral - the real issue is that she did NOT answer the big question about her half-million-pound splash on two flats in Bristol.

He hasn't the support of the Labour Party, he hasn't the support of the country or of the celebrated "international community". How can he justify taking this country into a war nobody wants? He can't. He can only resort to rhetoric, cliche and propaganda. Little did we think when we voted Blair into power that we would come to despise him. The idea that he has influence over Bush is laughable. His supine acceptance of US bullying is pathetic.

One of our clients just forwarded us this report. If true and accurate and we have no reason to believe it not to be so, Bush has lost Venezuela. Thereby, he is under incredible pressure to attack Iraq.

Now, as to the boarding of the North Korean cargo ship. We believe this may be a set up. For what? North Korea no doubt may board a cargo ship for Taiwan with US military supplies.

This is seriously out of hand. Bush must be ordered to stand down. He is losing. You have to know when to call a major time out.

Now, we want to say this one more time. If Bush goes into Iraq and it appears he has captured Baghdad, do not become complacent due to the appearance of a victory. We assure you that China and the Arab/islamic nations have planned against such an event.

This is all serious, serious, serious. This is not a video game. Moreover, war, battle and conflict is not the same it was before. It is time we show intelligence and put our best minds to the task and open up truth to public discussion, where it will become apparent that we are upon the wrong, not the right path.

But Herman Graf, President of Carroll & Graf in New York, has refused to say how many copies he has printed - or explained a deepening mystery that equals that surrounding the death of Robert Maxwell.

Publisher Charged With 'Sabotaging' New Israeli Spy Book

Fresh revelations on secret British terror organisation in Northern Ireland

In case you Brits out there hadn't worked it out we live in the one of the most secretive states in the world. We have the largest number of surveillance cameras per head of population than anywhere in the world, our government can invoke the monstrous "Official Secrets Act" any time it likes at which point it becomes a law unto itself. Add to that the fact that they're also the most effective propagandists ever to exist, and what you have is a government that says one thing and then proceeds to do exactly the opposite!

During the past three weeks, the Guardian newspaper has run several articles on the Force Research Unit (FRU), an undercover security operation financed and run by the British state in Northern Ireland for more than two decades.

The articles detail how this terror network—involving up to 100 soldiers and double agents— organised a series of covert intelligence and military operations and authorised their agents to carry out numerous illegal activities including bomb making, murder, and the shooting of Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC) officers.

Through interviews with alleged former members of the FRU, the Guardian reports that the FRU was in active operation until the British and Irish governments signed the Northern Ireland Agreement three years ago. Afterwards ex-FRU members complain they were discarded by the British secret services and left without any protection.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) and successive British governments have never officially acknowledged the existence of the FRU network and have remained silent on these latest allegations. But the Guardian articles appear at a time when the history and operation of the FRU are coming under closer scrutiny.

On October 3, 2001, I.A.P. News reported that according to Israel Radio (in Hebrew) Kol Yisrael an acrimonious argument erupted during the Israeli cabinet weekly session last week between Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his foreign Minister Shimon Peres.

Peres warned Sharon that refusing to heed incessant American requests for a cease-fire with the Palestinians would endanger Israeli interests and "turn the US against us. "Sharon reportedly yelled at Peres, saying "don't worry about American pressure, we the Jewish people control America."

The long history of bipartisan Congressional support for Israel led former Secretary of State James Baker to call the Congress "The Little Knesset" after Israel's Knesset (parliament) in Jerusalem. Congress's embarrassing and unpatriotic display of allegiance to a foreign country that is dependent on American largesse and support is the unknown scandal to the American people. With the media's strong, biased and sympathetic portrayal of Israel while simultaneously denying any opposing view of Israel or human pictures and stories of the endless suffering of Palestinians, its no wonder that we the American people are so unaware of the true face of Israel. Thus shockingly but not surprisingly only 4 % of the American people are aware of Israel's 34 year brutal military occupation of the Palestinian people.

Media accuse US of 'piracy'

Washington's grab for the Iraqi arms dossier at the United Nations was "an act of piracy," a Qatari newspaper charged Tuesday.

"The method by which Washington obtained the dossier can only be termed an act of piracy," said Al-Raya daily.

"This method is all the more suspicious because the US administration does not hide its belligerent intentions towards Iraq," the Doha-based paper said.

"It would not be surprising to see the Pentagon benefit from information contained in the dossier to direct its attacks against positions of the Iraqi army."

Al-Raya also accused Washington of "lacking sincerity and showing basis even in the Security Council."

The Mungiki movement with some 4 million followers, has accused the Freemasons of involvement in the disappearance of children and a mysterious string of murders that have recently rocked Nairobi.

The pronouncement came after a consortium of churches, during an interdenominational conference, called for the total ban on Freemasonry in Kenya. The Nanyuki conference, attended by officials of the National Council of Churches, Evangelical Fellowship of Kenya, the Catholic Church and representatives of the Independent Churches of Kenya, lashed out at the Freemason society, accusing it of "engaging in undercurrent activities." The churches pointed out that Freemasonry is a secretive society whose activities may not be good to the welfare of the human society.

They destroy evidence, have closed hearings, military tribunals and generally make a mockery of basic human rights, and we have to just shut up and do as we're told because we're not intelligent enough or trustworthy enough to know what they know. It takes the old adage "Do what I say, not what I do." to new heights of geo-political silliness, they expect us to accept being spied on 24/7 but they won't divulge the details of why it's so important.

All of the signs point to what one eloquent comentator dubbed the "End Game", I believe they are right. This is the last chance that the Real Evildoers (Reevils) have to create their "New World Order" before the masses wake up and realise that they've been conned. I bet you the Reevils are absolutely kicking themselves that they ever let the Internet break out of the box they created it in because soon it's going to turn round and bite them in the cojones!

I guess what I'm trying to say is don't stop asking questions, of yourself, of your mates and most of all of those tossers who are supposed to be REPRESENTING US! Rev. James Lawson was one of the eaarly leaders of the civil rights movement that changed American society 40 years ago. On Monday night, he spoke to local anti-war activists. His formula for radical change was still the same: mass non-violent direct action.

On the eve of International Human Rights Day, local peace activists heard an inspiring sermon Monday night from a man who has practiced what he preached for five decades.

Speaking to about 120 people in a small, ecumenical chapel across the street from the United Nations, Rev. James Lawson called on his audience to embrace “passionate non-violence” as a means to transforming a society corrupted by violence and greed.

“If this government is to be changed…it will be because we the people mobilize not in the tens of thousands but in the millions and make this country unmanageable. Nothing else will do,” Lawson said.

Iraq Indicates Names of Arms Suppliers in Document

Now you know why the USA had to take responsibility for editing out "sensitive" material. THINK ABOUT IT PEOPLE, Iraq isn't being asked to declare HOW to make a nucleur bomb but it does have to declare WHO sold it the nuke stuff and nasty biowar agents; that's the material that will be edited out I guarantee you that! The USA and UK HAVE NO PROOF that Saddam has WMD now and there is lot's of proof that says that when he did have those nasties it was us who sold him the feckin' things anyway! Now that the USA has taken the only copy it's likely to come back with large chunks of juicy stuff missing.

Iraq's long declaration of its past weapons programs is expected to include names of foreign suppliers, disclosures that may be embarrassing for nations on the U.N. Security Council.

A table of contents, circulated to the Security Council on Monday, says Iraq listed "procurements" of its nuclear programs as well as imported chemical precursors and foreign technical assistance for its chemical arms programs.

Under biological weapons, the index says 33 pages are devoted to "acquisition of equipment, material, supplies and empty munitions containers for all phases of the program."

The table, contained in a covering letter from Baghdad's Foreign Minister Naji Sabri, lists all of Iraq's banned weapons programs, but does not indicate if any arms were procured after U.N. sanctions were imposed in August 1990.

In the past, sensitive information, has not been disclosed by U.N. weapons inspection units. Companies around the world, which cooperated with the United Nations did so on condition they not be identified publicly, although the United States and others are presumed to have access to such information.

But this time all 15 Security Council members are to get the report, which means it could leak to the press quickly.

WTC Surveillance Tapes Feared Missing

Surveillance tapes and maintenance logs are among the missing evidence as investigators try to figure out why the World Trade Center collapsed, federal officials said Monday.

Many documents destroyed in the disaster "are pretty key in carrying out the work," lead investigator Shyam Sunder said.

The 110-story towers collapsed after two hijacked jetliners plowed into the buildings in lower Manhattan on Sept. 11, 2001. Nearly 2,800 people were killed.

Two hypotheses on the cause of the collapse have emerged since the National Institute of Standards and Technology began its $23 million probe three months ago.

Mind you, our society is heading toward serfdom at a rapid clip. The people are ready. Michael Jackson dangles a baby off a five story hotel balcony, while in Berlin to accept an award for "service to children" no less. Another young man from Yacolt, Washington not only has a pet rattlesnake, but felt compelled to kiss it, with nearly fatal results. Plus our esteemed President Pretzel was officially called a "moron" by a senior aide to the Canadian Prime Minister. Yet another educational survey found that our young people don't know anything at all except how to drool at Britney Spears. The globalists have won the first round hands down I think. From the moron in charge, to the morons all around me it's obvious to me that the final phase has begun. We are, if nothing else, reaching a critical mass of sheer stupidity that is truly awe inspiring to watch unfold. The gene pool has been drained; daily life consists of all the dying things wiggling around in their oxygen deprived and media covered glory. Maybe we should just call America: Jackass the society and get it over with.

Stupidity and corruption reign unmolested everywhere in both the American and global economic sphere. The American stock investors have lost nearly 8 trillion dollars in value; yet, they still haven't figured out the game is rigged. We just had a rally based on October retail sales not doing anything at all. They neither went up, or down, but stayed flat and that sparked 143 billion in fiat money profit. This stock rally was based on the idea that since a 1.3% drop in September was bad; then, doing nothing in October must be good. I realize Wall Street is a $340 billion business based on lies, cheating and conning people, but really. Mr. Pitt is no longer with us and he has taken Mr. Webster with him. Poisoning the air

They are trying to scare all of us into allowing them to have the power to do whatever they want to do. Don't forget, the first casualty in war is always the truth and as those fascist psycho nazis like to keep pointing out to us, we're in a "war" against "terrorism".

One of the oldest tricks in the run-up to a war is to spread terrifying stories of things that the enemy may be about to do. Government officials plant these tales, journalists water them and the public, for the most part, swallow them.

On November 12, the New York Times reported that Iraq had ordered a million doses of a well known antidote to nerve gas. This information came from "senior Bush administration officials" whom the paper did not name, and was soon regurgitated by other news media across the US and beyond.

Although the New York Times made clear that the drug concerned, atropine, has some perfectly normal medical uses, the story pointed - as the officials who leaked it undoubtedly intended - to a far more sinister conclusion. It implied that Iraq not only possesses nerve gas but intends to use it in a conflict with the US - hence the need to protect its own forces from accidental injury.

The Ministry of Defence has obtained a sweeping injunction preventing the media from disclosing allegations made by a former agent for British military intelligence in Northern Ireland.

Samuel Rosenfeld is suing the MoD for allegedly endangering his life, breaching his human rights, committing slander, and harassment.

Details of his case in court papers, including names of his handler and other undercover army intelligence officers, are covered by a gagging injunction issued to national media groups after it was granted in a private court hearing.

Mr Rosenfeld was approached in 1991 by the Joint Services Group, the successor of the Force Research Unit, an army intelligence squad that recruited informers, mainly among paramilitary groups.

Publisher Charged With 'Sabotaging' New Israeli Spy Book

This is just the most audacious burial of a book I've ever heard of. Sounds like a great book! Victor Ostrovsky goes into quite a lot of detail about the Maxwell case, there's no doubt in my mind that he was a Mossad asset, there's also no doubt that he was terminated by them because his empire was crumbling and he went to them for a bail-out.

Two best-selling authors have bitterly accused their American publisher of "sabotaging" their book on Robert Maxwell he is to publish.

The book, supported by FBI documents, and files from intelligence agencies across the globe, details the tycoon's until now unsuspected links to organised crime families in the Balkans - and how Maxwell penetrated America's nuclear arsenal at Los Alamos on behalf of Mossad. The book reveals the tycoon worked for the Israeli intelligence.

But unknown to the authors, their US publisher, Carroll-Graf, secretly delivered an uncorrected proof copy of their manuscript weeks ago to Maxwell's daughter, Isabel.

She admits she took the book to Israel and consulted with, among others, "a family friend" David Kimche, a former deputy director of Mossad.

But United States forces have not only failed to hunt down Osama bin Laden while they are preparing for war in Iraq: they are finding it almost impossible to crack the al-Qa'ida network because Bin Laden's men have resorted to primitive methods of communication that cut individual members of al-Qa'ida off from all information.

This extraordinary, grim scenario comes from an American intelligence officer just back from Afghanistan who agreed to talk to The Independent – and to supply his own photographs of prisoners – on condition of anonymity. His prognoses were chilling and totally at variance with the upbeat briefings of the US Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld. Even in Pakistan, he says, middle-ranking Pakistani army officers are tipping off members of al-Qa'ida to avoid American-organised raids.

Mike's point is that the Pentagon crash conspiracy theory which claimed that that no plane hit the Pentagon was a deliberate attempt by the System to discredit the Internet and sites like this one.

It seems that those parties still wishing to keep the distraction away from the Israeli Spy/Phone Tap Scandal are still trying to flog the dead horse of whether a passenger jet really crashed into the Pentagon or not. Word has reached me that those not supporting the "Boeing Hunt" story are being accused of fraud or cover-up. This is a device to force those who are trying to keep the story of the Israeli Spy/Phone Tap Scandal before the public to take time away from that task to respond to the allegations of covering up for the fact that a passenger plane did not hit the Pentagon. It's the disinformationalists' way of trying to force attention away from the spy scandal to something harmless, or as is the case here, to an issue which will later be revealed to be a fraud in order to discredit legitimate questions regarding the official story of 9-11.

This will be the last time I expend effort on this question of whether a passenger jet did or did not hit the Pentagon, and do so only to point out how silly (or desperate) those individuals are who seek to prevent the public from looking at certain issues. After all, if the passenger jet didn't hit the Pentagon, then where did it go?

Angry response to US pressure over Turkey

They cut a deal; Turkey lets the US use its bases to give Iraq a kicking and the US will pressure the EU to let Turkey in, it's so obvious! The US government seems to be treating everyone like subservient idiots, big mistake.

Anger is growing in Brussels and some of Europe's capitals at the increased pressure from the US to admit Turkey as a member of the EU. The US lobby became stronger this week during a visit to Europe of US secretary of State Paul Wolfowitz, who visited London and Ankara.

"The US are entitled to exert influence, but the EU is not obliged to bow to its pressure, we will do what we think is right" said Hans-Gert Poettering a German Christian Democrat MEP told the European Parliament in a debate on Wednesday evening.

He also compared the insistence by the US that Turkey be given a date to begin negotiations at next week's Copenhagen summit as like the EU asking the US to admit Mexico.

US image tarnished by motives in Iraq

Can I just say for the record that my problem is not with the American people who are a great and kind and compassionate people. My problem is with the US government and its aggressive unilateral policies.

Suspicion about US motives in Iraq and the broadly held perception that America ignores the interests of other nations in foreign policy disputes has tarnished the image of the US around the world, according to a survey of public attitudes in 44 countries.

The poll by the Pew Research Centre for The People & The Press found support outside the Muslim world for American-led efforts to combat terrorism.

But it also found an "an equally strong global consensus that the US disregards the views of others in carrying out its foreign policy", wrote centre director Andrew Kohut, who headed the Global Attitudes Project.

A separate follow-up survey conducted last month in the US and in five allied nations revealed equally deep and conflicting views on Iraq. A majority of those interviewed in Britain, France, Germany and Russia agreed that Saddam Hussein represented a threat to stability in the Middle East and a danger to world peace.

BBC told to overhaul 24 hour news channel

Yay! Now maybe we'll get something better than the same repetitive vomit that Sky and CNN manage to spew! I'm not expecting them to make it like whatreallyhappen.com on TV, that would be expecting too much, just less BORING would be nice! Honestly Auntie, you have a great thing called the BBC World Service why can't you come up with a TV channel that's exactly like that...?

The BBC was yesterday ordered to overhaul its 24 hour news channel after a warning from the government that its existing format was too similar to commercial competitors to justify the continued use of millions of pounds of licence fee payers money.

An independent review of the service also attacked BBC governors for failing to adequately control the management and strategy of News 24, suggesting that there should be a regular review of its performance by an outside regulator.

The criticisms come at a time of increasing pressure for the BBC to be brought fully under the control of new communications regulator Ofcom - a move that would effectively curtail the powers of the corporation's governors.

Suprise suprise, now the Israeli press is claiming there are links between the Kenya bombings and Iraq, this just gets better and better! If we are to believe the media (I don't) then Mossad ignored warnings of an attack, yeah right!

Perhaps realizing that they had left fatally flawed evidence lying around Mombasa airport, more than a hundred heavily armed Israeli soldiers landed at the East Coast port on December 1, and demanded that the Kenyan Police hand over the "evidence". By all accounts they were particularly anxious to get their hands of the unfired sky-blue "Strela" missile launching tubes left near the end of Runway 21. To their astonishment and considerable anger, the Israeli demand was met with a point-blank "NO".

The Kenyan police had already worked out for themselves that the Strela launchers had not been fired, and were still trying to establish exactly why the crew of Arkia Airlines Flight 582 had ignored standard airport procedures on November 28, and taken off from the wrong runway. Instead of using Runway 03 [heading 030 degrees] where the overrun is the Indian Ocean, Flight 582 had deliberately ignored instructions and taken off in the opposite direction, i.e. from Runway 21 [heading 210 degrees], which rather conveniently took them directly overhead the decoy Strela launchers hidden in the long grass.

Think about it people, think about it. How did the agents who planted the Strela launchers know in advance that the crew of Arkia Flight 582 would be the first to violate standard procedures in three years? Put another way, how did they know exactly where to leave the dummy launchers for the media to find? Clearly they had exceptional extra sensory perception, or they must have spoken to the aircrew before Flight 582 taxied out to the runway. You choose which is most likely to be the truth.

Of course, it helps if you know that the overrun of Runway 03 is located in ten-feet-deep water, and therefore a very difficult place to expect even the most compliant of media crews to locate and film the sky-blue decoy launch tubes. No, for the Mossad scam to work properly they had to break the rules, and with typical Israeli arrogance, assumed no one would notice the "minor" deception.

But the deception was noticed, as was the fact that the launch tubes had not been fired. Anticipating a few problems with their initial cover story, the Israelis starting leaking another ingenious tale to the media, which discreetly hinted that the Arkia Boeing 757 "might have been fitted with top secret missile warning equipment", which had somehow miraculously prevented the airplane from being hit by two deadly heat seekers, allegedly fired at point-blank range. As you will see from the pictures below, this was a complete lie.

US rebuffs Japan over rape charge

Remember the Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman murders? The bodies of the two girls were found just outside the perimeter fence of USAF Lakenheath, one of the largest US bases in this country. At the time Joe Vialls made the assertion that it was a US serviceman that was responsible for the deaths not the Iain Huntley or Maxine Carr. These theories have been ridiculed and no attempt has been made to interview any US personnel on the base. However, Joes theories make a lot more sense than the official explanation, read the report and you'll see what I mean!

I found this story in the BBC which is relevant because it shows you the extent to which US personnel have been involved in nefarious activities around the world (besides, of course, their official nefarious activities carried out in the name of the Bush junta), including the brutal rape of a 12 year old girl. Think about it people, if the population of this country learned that it was American servicepeople who carried out the murders there's no way in hell that Phony Tony and the Cronies would get any support at all for the Iraq invasion or the stoopid WoT for that matter!

The United States has refused Japan's request that it hand over an American Marine accused of attempting to rape a woman on Okinawa, home to most of the country's US military bases.

US Marine Major Michael J Brown, 39, has denied attempting to rape a woman in her car last month.

Under a 1995 accord with Japan, the US is required to give "full favourable consideration" to all requests to hand over a serviceman who is charged with a serious crime.

But the Japanese foreign ministry said the US had turned down its request, prompting what the Japanese government described as "extreme regret" at the US position.

MoD Accused Of Rendelsham Forest UFO Cover Up

Yes I'm a conspiracy theorist, why? Because there are so many damn dodgy happenings out there!

The government tried to cover up one of the country's most famous sightings of an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO), a parliamentary watchdog has ruled.

The "Rendlesham Files", which were finally published on the Internet on Sunday, contain eye witness accounts by U.S. Air Force officers at a military base close to Rendlesham Forest, near Ipswich in Suffolk, who saw a brilliantly lit object land in the forest in December 1980.

The incident is widely regarded as one of the most significant-ever UFO sightings -- the British equivalent of the 1947 incident in which a spacecraft supposedly crashed at Roswell, New Mexico, with aliens aboard.

Several people had complained to the parliamentary ombudsman, Ann Abraham, that the Ministry of Defence had refused to divulge full details of the Rendlesham witness accounts. Abraham ruled the ministry had "withheld three documents relating to reported sightings of unexplained aerial phenomena in 1980 -- the Rendlesham Forest UFO incident".

U.S. Defends Burying Iraqi Troops Alive

Behind the propaganda, lies, flowery retoric and innocent smiles beat hearts of pure, unadulterated evil.

The Pentagon said that a "gap" in the laws governing warfare made it legally permissible during the gulf war for U.S. tanks to bury thousands of Iraqi troops in their trenches and for U.S. warplanes to bomb the enemy retreating along the so-called Highway of Death.

An elaborate legal justification was contained in an appendix to the report on the war sent to Congress by Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney. The section also accused Iraq of "widespread and premeditated" war crimes and environmental terrorism.

But it absolved U.S. forces on war crime issues raised "by some in the post-conflict environment."

Newsday disclosed in September that many Iraqi troops were buried alive when the First Mechanized Infantry Division attacked an 8,000-man division defending Saddam Hussein's front line.

Britain accused of providing Saddam torture instruments

The Government's attempt to present Iraq as a uniquely evil regime turned into a public relations flop yesterday when the Iraqi dissident chosen to present it denounced the threat of war with Saddam Hussein and said Baghdad officials used British-made equipment as instruments of torture.

Amnesty International accused the Government of turning a blind eye to human rights abuses elsewhere in the world and seizing on the horrors in Iraq for political reasons.

Hussain al-Shahristani, a former nuclear scientist who was tortured and jailed for 11 years for refusing to work on Saddam's secret nuclear programme, said: "When I was in jail I was held with British-made handcuffs. In the cells next door, I could hear the screams of people who were having holes drilled into their bones. Those drills were made in Britain."

On November 7, the day before the United Nations Security Council voted on a resolution that made an American and British attack on Iraq more than likely, Downing Street began issuing warnings of imminent terrorist threats against the United Kingdom.

Cross-Channel ferries, the London Underground and major public events were all said to be "targeted".

The anonymous Government sources described "emergency security measures" that included a "rapid reaction force of army reservists" and a squadron of fighter jets "on constant standby". Plans were being drawn up to "evacuate major cities and deal with large numbers of contaminated corpses". Police snipers were being trained "to kill suicide bombers" and anti-radiation pills were being distributed to hospitals. By November 11, Tony Blair himself was telling the British public to be "on guard" against an attack that could lead to "maximum carnage".

Curiously, the national state of alert for a likely attack, colour-coded amber, which such a grave warning would require, was never activated. It remains on "black special", which is just above normal. Why?

That was more than two weeks ago, and urgent questions remain unanswered. Now health service teams are to have smallpox vaccinations to "meet the threat of a germ warfare attack"; and the Foreign Office has produced a remarkable video suggesting that Britain is about to attack Iraq because of its concern for that country's human rights record. (This must mean Britain will soon attack other countries because of their human rights records, such as China, Russia and the United States).

The absurdity of all this is becoming grotesque, and the British public needs to ask urgent questions of its Government.

Mossad Bombs Paradise Hotel in Mombasa

This was posted on Sunday but I'm keeping it a current story because new developments are happening all the time and I'm trying to keep track of them. The latest news, apart from the ongoing disagreements about the investigation are the fact that apparently the "terrorists" everyone was expecting have claimed responsibility, only problem is that is was a statement posted to a website (which I haven't found yet). So once again, another "terrorist" bombing that smells like rotting fish, I've thought so since I heard about it on the news. If you're not familliar with False Flag operations read the following article. As regards Joe Vialls, I've had the BBC (Rod "The Whinger" Liddle) describe Joe as a "maniac" (Liddle's exact words) for claiming that a US serviceman might have been responsible for the deaths of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman. No doubt Mr Whinger would describe this report in a simillar way. However, if you actually read the report you'll realise that what Joe says makes absolute sense. In my opinion the offical story is -once again- a pack of lies, the press is being manipulated into feeding us propaganda and people like Mr Whinger are foot soldiers in the "war on our intelligence" whether knowingly or not.

I'm not saying that this story is true; you must answer that question yourself! What I am saying is that Joe's report makes a whole helluva lot more sense than the crap The System wants us to believe.

The precise anatomy of an attack that only "looked like" it was targeted on Jews

On 28 November it was reported that “al Qaeda” had blown up the Israeli Paradise Hotel at Kikambala Beach near Mombasa, and synchronously launched a missile attack on an Arkia Airlines Boeing 757, taking off from Mombasa Airport en-route for Tel Aviv with 264 Israeli passengers on board. There was wild media talk of outstanding Israeli bravery in the face of these horrifying Muslim atrocities, but in reality the entire “dual attack” was a lookalike invented by the Mossad, designed to deflect attention away growing anger in Indonesia about direct CIA and Mossad involvement in the 12 October bombing of Kuta Beach in Bali. More about this motive later in the report, but first let us use real-time and photographic evidence to prove this deliberate Israeli illusion.

The first proof that the Kikambala Beach operation was a covert Israeli sting, came less than an hour after the massive bomb blast, with a tame television anchorman in New York repeatedly asking a reporter at the Paradise hotel about “the other attack on the Israeli airliner taking off from Mombasa.” The timing of these questions was impossible, because the pilots aboard the Arkia Airlines Boeing 757 had not reported any incident. Serving as proof of this critical omission, there is no record of any “Mayday” or “Pan” call on the Kenyan air traffic control tapes at any time on 28 November 2002. So now we know the New York media was deliberately telling us about a mid-air incident which never occurred.

Simultaneously at the Paradise Hotel, hordes of Israeli tourists were filmed sitting on top of their heavy suitcases more than 200 meters away from the building. Nearly every reader is conversant with hotel evacuation drills. You are told repeatedly that “human life is important, possessions are not”. This priority never changes, with standard emergency instructions worldwide urging patrons to “Stay calm, check the room to ensure no-one is left, leave your belongings where they are, and walk briskly to your assembly point – do not run.” Nowhere in the rules is there any instruction to risk the lives of your children and yourself, by slowly and laboriously dragging a fifty-pound suitcase more than two hundred meters towards the beach.

The tourists sitting calmly on their suitcases at the beach, is explained by the fact that the Paradise Hotel is a “turnkey” operation, one-hundred-percent owned by the Israelis and thus under their complete control. You cannot walk in off the street and book a room, because the entire hotel is reserved strictly for Israeli tourists, including a sizeable number of Mossad operatives on “Rest and Recuperation”. This was a controlled operation from the start, with nearly all of the Israeli guests cleared away from the buildings before the charges were detonated.

The subtitle of Daniel Jonah Goldhagen's new book, "A Moral Reckoning," comes directly to the point: "The Role of the Catholic Church in the Holocaust and Its Unfulfilled Duty of Repair." The Roman Catholic Church played an active role in centuries of anti-Semitism and knew from the start that the Jews were being persecuted then exterminated. The church, under the leadership of Pope Pius XII, did nothing to stop that Germanic frenzy of mass murder and genocide. If anything, according to Goldhagen's overwhelming study, the church encouraged participation in the Holocaust.

Strong words for a church whose foundations have been rocked in recent years by the desire of women to be ordained priests, single-issue concerns such as abortion, birth control and gay rights, and the horror of its members at the willful and widespread misconduct of priests who sexually abuse altar boys. Now it is being blamed for the Holocaust.

UK Enviro Minister Calls US GM Food Aid Policy 'Wicked'

Wicked is an understatement, the pharmaceutical companies must be stopped! Fortunately here in the UK the Organic movement seems to be gathering pace, almost every product has an Organic equivalent and if you look at the shops the organic stuff sells faster than the normal. Forcing starving countries to accept genetically modified (GM) food in aid is "wicked", Michael Meacher, the environment minister, said late last week. He called for "anger to be harnessed" against the policy, which is being vigorously pushed by the United States government.

Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and other southern African countries have refused to accept GM food from the US even though some 12 million people in the region are threatened with famine.

The US , for its part, refused to supply the non-GM grain they requested. Top American officials claim that Americans were eating GM food without ill-effects. One said: "Beggars can't be choosers."

But the African governments say the effects of GM food on health are unknown. They add that poor farmers would be bound to plant GM grain to grow new crops, and would no longer be able to export produce to Europe.

Rendlesham 'X-Files' Released

When is an X-File not an X-File? When it's a bona fides government document! Seriously though, has anyone considered that the X-Files might be an attempt to desensitise the population to the notion of large-scale government conspiracies? Details of an alleged UFO sighting near a Suffolk RAF base more than 20 years ago have been released under the Freedom of Information Act.

The Rendlesham File is one of the first documents to be released as part of an opening-up of the inner workings of Whitehall.

It had previously only been seen by about 20 people, who requested access to it through the American Freedom of Information Act.

The sighting of a 'strange triangular glowing object' near RAF Woodbridge in the early hours of December 27, 1980 is described in colourful detail.

Sniper Case - True Lies?

As court records and other documents have become available, a troubling pattern of government willful inaction, suppression of relevant facts, and misleading statements to the media has emerged.

The handling of circumstances around the Bushmaster rifle, alleged to be the sniper weapon, by the ATF and FBI are incomprehensible and inexcusable. Initially there was confusion over a similar Bushmaster rifle Muhammad had purchased from Welcher's Gun Shop in Tacoma, Washington in December of 1999. The rifle was sold back to the gun shop by Muhammad on May 23, 2000; two months after his ex-wife had obtained a restraining order against him. It was his apparent possession of the weapon after the date of the restraining order that was the basis of the arrest warrant issued in Seattle less than 24 hours before his arrest.

There are contradictory explanations of the route of the weapon now alleged to be the sniper rifle. The manufacturer, Bushmaster, says it shipped the rifle to an unnamed distributor in June of 2002. A statement from Bullseye Shooter Supply, the largest gun dealer in Tacoma, said the weapon was received on July 2, but directly from the manufacturer.

UK Water Companies May Be Force To Add Fluoride

In case anyone hasn't told you fluoride is NOT good for you or your teeth, many studies have shown that Fourine/Flouride attacks the thyroid gland and brings on the onset of juvenile diabetes & Hypothyroidism. Additionally, numerous long term studies have shown that fluoridation actually destroys tooth enamel and brings on decay.. Tony just loves forcing us to do things that we don't want to do, he then blames us because we're not forward thinking enough to sell our entire country to the multi-nationals in the way Blair has done with his soul. Multinational companies make Satan's demands look appealing.

Water companies will be forced to add fluoride to Britain's drinking supplies under moves by MPs to prevent tooth decay in children. By the age of five, nearly two-thirds of children in some parts of the UK have at least one rotten tooth.

There is overwhelming evidence that fluoridation, supported by dentists, can dramatically reduce the spread of tooth decay.

However, critics argue that it should be up to parents to cut sweets out of their children's diets and supervise teeth-brushing, rather than forcing the nation to drink chemically spiked water which may carry health risks.

Tomorrow MPs will push to amend an unrelated water Bill, currently due before Parliament, to make fluoridation compulsory where local people vote for it.

Indian Deputy PM Advani Dares Pakistan To Start War

Can anyone say; "BOOM!" we've got two antagonistic nations whose leaders don't seem to understand that any nucleur exchange will obliterate Pakistan and leave large chunks of India uninhabitable for at least the next thousand years. Talk about uncomitted crimes against humanity!

Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani on Saturday dared Pakistan to go to a fourth war instead of targetting temples and civilians through what he called a proxy war, local media reports said.

Campaigning in Gujarat, where human rights groups say more than 2,500 people, mainly Muslims, died this year in some of India's worst ever communal violence, Advani said India was ready for war.

"Let us fight it out face to face. We have fought thrice, let there be a fourth war," Press Trust of India quoted Advani as saying.

The Gujarat poll is the latest test for the battling Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party that both rules the state and leads the national coalition government, but which has suffered major setbacks in other key state polls this year.

Britain Planned To Threaten Hitler With Nuclear Bomb

Britain had plans to threaten Germany with a nuclear bomb during World War II to prevent Hitler launching V2 rockets at London, newly released files showed Sunday.

The threat was mooted in the summer of 1944, two years after the development of nuclear bombs had begun but a year before any had been tested.

The intention to bluff the Nazis out of using the supersonic V2 rocket failed. In the last seven months of the war, over 3,000 V2s were launched, killing some 2,700 people in Britain.

The nuclear idea was put forward by Guy Liddell, head of MI5's counter-espionage branch during the war, whose diaries have been released by the Public Records Office and carried by newspapers Sunday.
