Security Council Demands Immediate Halt To Israeli Measures In Ramallah, ‘Expeditious’ Israeli Withdrawal To Pre-September 2000 Positions

Council Adopts Resolution 1435 (2002) By 14-0-1 Vote, With United States Abstaining

Early Tuesday morning, the Security Council demanded that Israel immediately cease measures in and around Ramallah, “including the destruction of Palestinian civilian and security infrastructure”, following all-day sessions on Monday which heard 45 speakers on the situation in the Middle East in light of the recent upsurge of violence.

In adopting resolution 1435 (2002) by a vote of 14 in favour to none against, with one abstention (United States), the Council also demanded the withdrawal of Israeli forces towards positions held prior to September 2000. It called on the Palestinian Authority to meet its expressed commitment to bring to justice those responsible for terrorist acts.

By other terms of the resolution, the Council reiterated its demand for the complete cessation of all acts of violence, including all acts of terror, provocation, incitement and destruction. It also expressed its full support for the efforts of the Middle East Quartet and called upon all States in the region to cooperate with its efforts.

As the meeting began yesterday morning, Secretary-General Kofi Annan urged the parties in the Middle East to resist a downward spiral into anarchy. Noting the recent elaboration of a vision for peace by the Middle East Quartet, the Secretary-General said the events of the past few days represented a tragic step in the opposite direction. In the space of three days, a bomb had exploded in a Palestinian school and two suicide attacks had killed Israeli civilians. Such acts were morally repugnant and set back the prospect of a just and lasting settlement.

It's The Oil, Stupid

Just a reminder what this war is really all about, British oil companies will benefit as much as American ones. Do you want to send yours and other peoples kids off to die in a hot dusty desert simply so you can pollute the environment with your car even more... Now there's a fair trade-off!

France and Russia have oil companies and interests in Iraq. They should be told that if they are of assistance in moving Iraq towards decent government, we'll do the best we can to ensure that the new government and American companies will work with them. If they throw their lot with Saddam, it will be difficult to the point of impossible to persuade the new Iraq government to work with them. Former CIA director James Woolsey, quoted in The Washington Post, September 15, 2002. So there you have it. The Bush administration may be telling the world that the reason the UN Security Council has to approve an allied attack on Iraq is because of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction capability, but the real reason France and Russia are being told to get on board the US military bandwagon is Iraq's oil reserves.

According to The Washington Post, all five permanent members of the Security Council - the US, Britain, France, Russia and China - have international oil companies with major stakes in a change of leadership in Baghdad. The Washington Post is one of the major media vehicles through which members of the American establishment talk to each other.

It is clear the real issue here is who controls Iraqi oil.

In March of this year I published a long report which used scientific proof to destroy the evolving American media myth that “phone calls” were made by Barbara Olson from American Airlines Flight 77, the Boeing 757 flown by remote control into the Pentagon with devastating effect on 11 September 2001. The blatant media lies about Olson were so outrageous, I was moved to write:

“This is a story about a little white lie that bred dozens of other little white lies, then hundreds of bigger white lies and so on, to the point where the first little white lie must be credited as the ‘Mother of All Lies’ about events on 11 September 2001. For this was the little white lie that first activated the American psyche, generated mass loathing, and enabled media manipulation of the global population. Without this little white lie there would have been no Arab Hijackers, no Osama Bin Laden directing operations from afar, and no ‘War on Terror’ in Afghanistan and occupied Palestine…”

“This unsubstantiated claim, reported by CNN remarkably quickly at 2.06 am EDT [0606 GMT] on 12 September, was the solitary foundation on which the spurious ‘Hijacker’ stories were built.Without the ‘eminent’ Barbara Olson and her alleged emotional telephone calls, there would never be any anecdotal ‘proof’ that humans played a role in the hijack and destruction of the four aircraft that day. Lookalike claims surfaced several days later on 16 September about passenger Todd Beamer and others, but it is critically important to remember that the Barbara Olson story was the only one on 12 September. It was beyond doubt the artificial ‘seed’ that started the giant media snowball rolling down the hill.”

When I wrote the report about Flight 77 in March, there was also ample scientific proof available for me to destroy the media myth about the crash of United Flight 93 in Pennsylvania, but I deliberately pulled my punches and maintained a discreet silence. Americans were in deep shock and in dire need of some home-grown heroes, with most seemingly unable or unwilling to comprehend that 9/11 was a calculated high-tech surgical strike against the Zionist banking heart of New York City, rather than an attack on Americans in general. “Let it go” I reasoned to myself, “In the final analysis, does it really matter if shell-shocked Americans console themselves with heroic illusions about Todd Beamer and the others on Flight 93?”

Six months later in September I can no longer afford the luxury of omission, and Americans can no longer afford to live in denial. Over the few past weeks the American President, Vice-President and Secretary of Defense have inched visibly closer to complete insanity, with barely-veiled threats to nuke the world in general if denied the “right” to attack Saddam Hussein in Iraq. Every day, as if on some sort of satanic media schedule, we are all reminded this action is necessary at least in part because of those “Arab” or “Muslim” Hijackers who violated American national security on 9/11. Beyond any doubt this is to be a Zionist-led Christian crusade against the Muslims, for the sole benefit of the Jewish State. The harsh reality that thousands of Christian American soldiers will die for the sake of this phony war, is demonstrably of no interest whatever to the US Administration.

Debunking Myths

Given the unashamed and blatant Panorama propaganda on BBC1 last night and also the release of the UK government report earlier today, I thought it would be worth illustrating why we cannot trust anything that the "Establishment" ever tells us. I've emailed the Panorama programme (panorama@bbc.co.uk) to inform them that their documentary was less than entirely accurate. I don't expect a reaction but at least the truth is where it needs to be.

This interview will explain how it was NOT Saddam who gassed the Kurds of Halabja; it was the Iranian military and the Kurds were caught in cross-fire NOT deliberately targetted. The interview also covers other relevant issues related to the Middle East. The information comes from someone who has investigated it properly and talked to people involved. I have also made best efforts myself to coroborate the relevant parts of the interview and so far it's easily verifiable on the Internet. The "Halabja Incident" forms the basis for an awful lot of the Western anti-Iraq propaganda, by throwing its veracity into doubt, it casts a shadow over the whole excremental mess.

Myths About Israel, Iran-Iraq War, Saddam Debunked by Veteran Journalist

American-born Nita Renfrew went to Israel as an idealistic young liberal who wanted to experience life in a country she believed was a model for the world. What she discovered was not what she expected. It gave her new insights into what the Arab-Israeli conflict was really all about.

In subsequent years, after leaving Israel, Renfrew traveled widely, including a stint as the Spanish correspondent for LeMonde Diplomatique, the well-known French foreign affairs journal. She has been a radio commentator and is the author of Saddam Hussein, an authoritative and objective (but very hard to find) biography of the Iraqi leader.

[In the interview she says:]

There was a battle in Halabja between the Iranian army and the Iraqi army. The mayor of Halabja, who is related to a man I know here in the United States, said that it was the Iranians who dropped the chemical weapons on the village—not the Iraqis—and the Kurds got caught in the cross-fire. It was not done deliberately. One of the indications, he said, is that when the Kurds fled the village, they didn’t flee across the border to Iran, but back into Iraq since the planes were coming from Iran.

Interestingly enough, there is a U.S. Army War College report, by Stephen Pelletier, who headed up the analysis team on the Iran-Iraq war for the United States. He and his co-author based their report on the information that was being continuously gathered by the CIA and the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency during the Iran-Iraq war.

The report said that the Kurds in Halabja had died from cyanigin blood agents. The Iraqis were not known to have any cyanigin blood agents but the Iranians were. So the U.S. Army War College report concluded that the Kurds died from Iranian chemical weapons — not Iraqi chemical weapons. Mr. Pelletier still stands by his report and was recently quoted as saying so in The Village Voice.

Israel to pursue Arafat siege despite UN resolution

A good time to point out that the country that has violated the most UN resolutions is; Israel. Iraq violates a couple and suddenly Saddam has the US Military crawling up his bum! Unless we call immediately for a "regime change" in Tel Aviv then this is rank hypocrisy!

Where's the condemnation from Blair? Where's the "intelligence dossier" on Israel? This is just more evidence that our government is morally bankrupt.

JERUSALEM: The Israeli army will maintain its siege of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's headquarters in Ramallah despite a UN resolution demanding its "immediate" halt, a senior Israeli official said.

"The United Nations can do what it wants, but Israel will continue the operation until its aims are achieved," the official said on condition of anonymity.

"Either Arafat leaves his headquarters or the terrorists holed up there hand themselves over," the official said.

Following a first Israeli-Palestinian meeting on Monday that was aimed at ending the siege Israel imposed on Thursday in retaliation for two suicide bombings, Arafat rejected Israel's demand for the names of all the people holed up with him in his battered headquarters.

With the United States abstaining, the UN Security Council voted 14-0 on Tuesday morning for a resolution demanding that Israel lift its siege of Arafat's battered headquarters in the West Bank town of Ramallah.

The ink had barely time to dry on Iraq's acceptance of the Bush administration's demand for unconditional access to suspected weapons sites inside Iraq before the administration issued a tersely worded denunciation: "A tactic that will fail." Bush also said: "We can't take Saddam's word, he's proven that he breaks his promises."

People like Bush who live in glass houses should watch what they say. Bush has broken almost every campaign promise he made to the American people, beginning with: 'The people in my administration will not only be above reproach, they will be beyond even the hint of any conflict-of-interest."

U.S. officials said, "the Iraqi offer echoed Baghdad's earlier maneuvers to stall and divide the council and dealt only with weapons inspections, and not with a host of other U.N. resolutions." Who is the Bush administration to demand the total compliance of Iraq, or any other country, with all issues that country may have with the United Nations?

OZ MP Risks Expulsion Over Opposition To Bush's War

Opposition backbencher Harry Quick has said he would risk expulsion from his party and cross the floor if Labor agreed to support a strike against Iraq. Mr Quick, a Labor MP from Tasmania, said he had received widespread support from the community for his stand.

"I've had dozens and dozens of emails and phone calls from parents saying we don't want to send our kids, keep up the good work," he said.

Asked if he was prepared to be expelled over the issue, Mr Quick said: "If we support a pre-emptive strike against Iraq, yes I am." Mr Quick was also against a United Nations-endorsed attack on Iraq.

"I'm totally against the war, it's a US-manufactured war and I don't support it in any shape or form," he said.

Mr Quick said dozens of his parliamentary colleagues supported his position.

Christians Should Reassess Support for Israel

Christians who believe Israel represents an outpost of Western Civilization might benefit from a book entitled "Jewish History, Jewish Religion" (1994) by Israel Shahak, a Professor Emeritus at Hebrew University.

Shahak escaped from a Nazi concentration camp and later served in the Israeli army. He is an organic chemist who combines a research scientist's objectivity with a humanist's commitment to universal ideals.

It appears that Judaism made a mistake when it rejected Christ's gospel of Love. As a consequence, Judaism may have become a primitive and possibly dangerous anachronism in the 21st Century. According to Shahak, Judaism is a xenophobic totalitarian belief system that has morphed into a fanatical Zionist ideology that now threatens the whole world. I must admit that, even as an assimilated Jew, reading this book was like taking cod liver oil, not pleasant.

''Honk if you hate America''

Can you hear it? Pretty deafening, isn't it? Since September 11, "why do they hate us" has been a frequently asked question. This question usually presupposes that "they" means Arabs or other Islamic people.

Here's a newsflash - lots of the world has hated America for decades. Even in my home in Canada, where you can't get much closer to America without actually being American, there is a sizable population that at least dislikes America. We like to posture that we are somehow better people than Americans while Americans know very well they are better than everybody.

That's where the problem begins. Americans really do believe their country is better than anything else; that America is entitled to as much of the resources and riches of the planet as it wants and it doesn't matter whomever else might have to suffer or go short; that all other nations are enemies if they don't march to the American drum in virtually any arena you might care to mention; that it has the right, indeed the obligation, to enforce its will wherever it sees fit by whatever means it wants; that it has the right to invade sovereign nations as a way of deflecting attention from some domestic political scandal or if there is some neat new weapon that really needs a good field testing; that killing of foreign civilians doesn't really count because they're always in season and there's no quota; that somehow a bullet-ridden and trigger-happy American society is in every way superior to any other place on earth.

Astonishingly, Americans seem to have a hard time grasping that some folks might just be a little annoyed about all that.

I thought Democracy could best be resumed with "Vox populi - vox dei": "The voices of the people are the voices of the gods". But maybe that's only the short and not essential version.
As I look up Plato's work I see no paragraph saying "The (more or less) elected leader of a democratic state has the right to impose his opinion of correct political system on another state by means of sharp metallic objects while he is comfortably watching TV." So I cannot help but wander at which point in history was this part added to the meaning of democracy?

Maybe it was when the great orator (=politician) Cicero paid thugs to set fire to the buildings of Rome so the citizens will finally understand just how vulnerable the Republic was and how the system must be changed and full executive powers must be given to Cicero if Rome was to survive. But that cannot be it since Cicero was kindly asked to empty the contents of his veins into a hot bath. Failing to comply, he was helped.

Maybe when Thoukididis put the "I'm a loony" paper hat and gave the speech on how the greek colonies in Sicily could be protected by means of an invasion. But wait; that cannot be it since Thoukididis personally led the two athenian phalanx divisions sent thus proving that he really believed the things he said. (And leading a phalanx for the athenians meant being one step in front of the phalanx when the enemy grinned!)

Maybe it was when Crassus maneuvered Spatracus into threatening Rome, blackmailing the Senate into giving him the "Praetorian" status? Hmm, could be. But then how come that Rome revoked that status the next year and left him merely a Consul?

No, I get it! It was when Julius Caesar scared the excrements out of Rome with inflated myths of barbaric invasions, used his army (the praetorians) as personal guards and as silencers for those who opposed him and so becoming Emperor? Hmm, but then if that would have been the "Vox populi vox dei" we wouldn't have heard of Brutus..

The Iraq debate gets curiouser and curiouser

Don't you just hate it when the bad guys agree to do what we want them to? If that's not a good reason to go in and take out Saddam, name one.

But our Fearless Leader, not one to be deterred from war merely by getting what he wants, promptly moved the goalposts and issued a new list of demands that Iraq must meet, including paying reparations to Kuwait.

If you step back and look at this debate, it just gets stranger and stranger. For one thing, all the evidence is that the administration has already made up its mind and we're going into Iraq this winter. President Bush went to the United Nations and demanded that it back him; he's going to Congress to demand that it back him; and there it is. This is not a debate -- it's Bush in his "You're either with us or against us" mode. It is not a discussion of whether invading Iraq is either necessary or wise.

If you add up all the reasons that the administration has advanced for going after Saddam, the only thing left to say is: "We need to take out Pervez Musharraf right now!" Musharraf has destroyed democracy in his country; he's backing terrorists in India, our democratic ally; his CIA was hand-in-glove with al Qaeda; his military is riddled with militant Islamists; his madrassas teach hatred of the West; his heroes are Napoleon Bonaparte and Adolf Hitler; and he not only has nukes -- he's threatened to use them.

Prosecute Sharon for war crimes, Israeli women say

In an astonishing letter to the Palestinian survivors of the 1982 Sabra and Shatila camps massacres, nine Israeli wo-men's peace groups have told Palestinians in Beirut that they support their efforts to indict the Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, for "war crimes'' committed against them almost exactly 20 years ago.

The women's letter, which was sent via the United States, has amazed the Lebanese lawyer representing the survivors of the massacre, for which Mr Sharon was held "personally responsible'' by an Israeli inquiry. "It is a wonderful gesture,'' Chibli Mallat said yesterday. "It is a wonderful message to receive in these very dangerous and violent times.''

The letter, from the Coalition of Women for A Just Peace in Israel, speaks movingly of the suffering of the Palestinians in 1982. "Our hearts ache to recall the terrible massacre that took place in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps 20 years ago, which Israeli leaders allowed to take place,'' it says. "We condemn the brutal murderers of your loved ones and we condemn the leaders who must be held accountable for these war crimes, Ariel Sharon above all.''

A Belgian court ruled earlier this year that it could not indict Mr Sharon for the killings, but more than 20 survivors of the massacre, whose lawyers include Mr Mallat, are now appealing against this decision.

Bad news from Israel: media coverage of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict

If you don't understand the Middle East crisis it might be because you are watching it on TV news. This scores high on images of fighting, violence and drama but is low on explanation. The Glasgow University Media Group interviewed twelve small audience groups (a total of eighty five people) with a cross-section of ages and backgrounds. They were asked a series of questions about the conflict and what they had understood from TV news. The same questions were then put to 300 young people (aged between 17 and 22) who filled in a questionnaire. We asked what came to their mind when they heard the words 'Israeli/Palestinian conflict' and then what was the source of whatever it was. Most (82%) listed TV news as their source and these replies showed that they had absorbed the 'main' message of the news, of conflict, violence and tragedy, but that many people had little understanding of the reasons for the conflict and its origins.

When viewed in this light, why should we excuse a group of bloodthirsty hit-men from thrusting the United States into another war for the sheer sake of making huge profits for their respective companies, or for furthering the aims of the New World Order Controllers? If the following men have their way, the titles beside their names will ring true with frightening clarity. Why? Because America’s War Machine is gearing up once again to feed its bloodlust and greed, and the men below are responsible for lighting its fuse...

British Witness Says Troops Killed Palestinian Boy Without Provocation

NABLUS, West Bank Sept. 23 (AP) — A British volunteer working with Palestinians in the West Bank said Monday she witnessed an Israeli soldier shoot dead a Palestinian teen-ager, deliberately and without provocation.

The Israeli military said the death of 13-year-old Baha Albahsh is under investigation. Military officials initially said he set himself alight while handling a fire bomb, but a Palestinian doctor said he was killed by a gunshot in the chest.

Ewa Jasiewics, 24, of London, said Albahsh tagged along with her group as usual on Sunday as the foreigners walked in the town of Nablus to observe Israeli troops' behavior toward youngsters breaking a military curfew to get to school.

She is an activist with the International Solidarity Movement, which regularly stages protest marches against the Israeli army and has tried to act as a human shield for Palestinians, both on the streets and in standoffs with troops at Yasser Arafat's West Bank headquarters and at Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity.

"An armored personnel car came and stopped on the left of the street," Jasiewics said. "A soldier popped up from inside. I saw him with his rifle and he aimed at some kids on the street. There was no stone-throwing or shooting going on at the time."

Why my film is under fire

An unforeseen threat to freedom of speech in British broadcasting emerged last week. It was triggered by the showing of my documentary, Palestine is Still the Issue, on ITV. The film told a basic truth that is routinely relegated, even suppressed - that a historic injustice has been done to the Palestinian people, and until Israel's illegal and brutal occupation ends, there will be no peace for anyone, Israelis included.

Most of the film allowed people to tell their eyewitness stories, both Palestinians and Israelis. What was unusual was that it disclosed in detail the daily humiliation and cultural denigration of the Palestinians, including a sequence showing excrement smeared by Israeli soldiers in a room of children's paintings. The film was accurate, restrained and fair; the longest interview was with an Israeli government spokesman. Every word and frame was subjected to a legal examination for accuracy and to ensure it complied with the fairness regulations in the Broadcasting Act.

Our historical adviser, Professor Ilan Pappé, the distinguished Israeli historian. He wrote to Carlton Television that "the film is faultless in its historical description and poignant in its message". None of this deterred the chairman of Carlton, Michael Green, a supporter of Israel's policies, from abusing the programme makers in the Jewish Chronicle, calling the film "inaccurate", "historically incorrect" and "a tragedy for Israel".

Not one of his accusations was, or can be, substantiated. Professor Pappé called the attack "an attempt to delegitimise any criticism of Israel". This was followed by an unprecedented rebuke of its chairman by Carlton's Factual Department, which stood by the film's accuracy.

9/11 and The Smoking Gun that Turned On its Tracker

It was supposed to be the key chain of evidence linking the September 11 hijackers to Osama bin Laden - a wire transfer of $100,000 to lead hijacker Mohamed Atta. For a public increasingly skeptical of evidence culled from passports in the rubble and flight manuals in the glove compartment, here was the "money" shot, a financial trail leading to the fall of the Twin Towers. Yet less than five months later, the man initially fingered as the paymaster of 9/11 would be sitting in a Pakistani jail, accused of a wholly different crime - the murder of Daniel Pearl.

The identities of at least 12 of Britain's most senior intelligence officers are to be exposed in a new video made by a team of rogue undercover army agents.

The army agents, who were infiltrated inside the IRA and Sinn Fein, are releasing the video in the Irish Republic as part of a whistle-blowing campaign aimed at exposing the truth behind the Dirty War in Northern Ireland.

As well as revealing the identities of some of the most senior army, police and MI5 officers working in Ulster, the agents also disclose the techniques used to handle agents and expose some of the most shocking operations undertaken by the British security forces in Northern Ireland.

These include claims that MI5 helped one undercover army agent, who was working in deep cover inside the IRA for more than a decade, source infra-red equipment which was used to provide the IRA with state-of-the-art bomb detonation technology.

One of the agents behind the video is Kevin Fulton, a former British soldier. The Catholic from Newry was given false discharge papers from his regiment and told by the shadowy military intelligence agency, the Force Research Unit (FRU), to infiltrate the IRA. As part of long- running investigations by the Sunday Herald into Ulster's Dirty War, Fulton has already claimed he warned RUC Special Branch that the Omagh bombing was being planned at least 48 hours before the Real IRA attack killed 29 people.

A Lesson in Humanity

Scot's kidney saves life of Palestinian girl

ONE of the kidneys of the Jewish teenager from Scotland who was killed last week when a suicide bomber detonated a bomb on a bus in Tel Aviv has been donated to save the life of a Palestinian girl.

Seven-year-old Yasmin Abu Ramila, from east Jerusalem, had been undergoing dialysis for more than a year and faced the prospect of kidney failure because of a degenerative disease when the organ became available last Thursday.

Jonathan Jesner's brother, Ari, last night said it was what his sibling would have wanted. "It does not matter that a kidney that was taken from the body of our Yoni was planted in the body of a Palestinian girl from the same people who killed him.

"If he could have helped people during his life he would have, but now that he can't at least he can help people in death. We are very proud that we can take part in the saving of a life to help this girl."

Intellectual Prostitutes

Variations on the quote below have been misattributed as a response to a toast, by John Swinton, as "the former Chief of Staff at the New York Times", before the New York Press Club in 1953. However, research reveals that Swinton (1829-1901), after moving to New York, wrote an occasional article for the New York Times and was hired on a regular basis in 1860 as head of the editorial staff. Afterward holding this position throughout the Civil War, he left the paper in 1870 and became active in the labor struggles of the day. He later served eight years in the same position on the New York Sun and later published a weekly labor sheet, John Swinton's Paper.

The remarks were apparently made by Swinton, then the preeminent New York journalist, probably one night in 1880. Swinton was the guest of honour at a banquet given him by the leaders of his craft.

Someone who knew neither the press nor Swinton offered a toast to the independent press. Swinton outraged his colleagues by replying:

There is no such thing, at this date of the world's history, in America, as an independent press. You know it and I know it.

There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinion out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.

The business of the journalists is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it, and what folly is this toasting an independent press?

The quote raises the issue of whether there is not continuing truth in Swinton's remarks, and whether some candid journalist might not be able to fairly say similar things today. Anyone who has associated closely with journalists can hardly avoid finding a ring of truth in such words, and the best evidence lies in the actual product of journalists and how well, or how poorly, it both agrees with and covers what actually happens, especially involving such things as corruption and abuse of power.

The audacious courage of Mr Blair

I would like to pay a tribute to the courage of Tony Blair. During these dark days in the build-up to war against Iraq it is reassuring to find ourselves with a leader who demonstrates such fearlessness in the face of tremendous odds.

Despite bitter opposition,Tony Blair has demonstrated that he will push ahead stalwartly with whatever the US intends to do. Even though the majority of his fellow countrymen are against the war (despite last week's propaganda campaign in the media), Mr Blair has shown not the slightest sign of wavering from his determination to do whatever Mr Bush wants. It is true that he has regrettably had to cave in over the question of debating the issue in Parliament, but he has fearlessly shown his contempt for the process by not allowing a vote. Mr Blair realises that he needs all the nerve he can command to resist demands for democratic discussion, if Mr Bush is to have any opportunity of dropping bombs on Iraq before the mid-term elections.

I would like to say a special word about another side of Tony Blair's courage - his moral courage. Tony Blair has the guts to stand on platform after platform repeating the words of the President of the United States even though he must be well aware that in so doing he makes himself a laughing stock to the rest of the world. Tony Blair has the balls not to be influenced by the knowledge that people imagine he is the US President's parrot and that his knee jerks only when George W. pulls the strings. It must take a very special kind of stamina to withstand that sort of daily humiliation. It is time we gave Mr Blair credit for it.

UK Gulf War General Says Iraq Invasion 'Totally Unjustified'

The officer who commanded the British 7th Armoured Brigade in the Gulf War has revealed that he is strongly opposed to a military invasion of Iraq.

Maj Gen Patrick Cordingley, who commanded the brigade - the renowned Desert Rats - in 1991, believes that Iraq poses no imminent threat to Britain or its interests and that "the case for war has not yet been made by the politicians".

Gen Cordingley told The Telegraph: "I'm absolutely opposed to a war. I feel very strongly that it is wrong. There is no justification for sending British troops to Iraq."

He doubted that the dossier of evidence against the Iraqi regime - to be released by Tony Blair on Tuesday - would prove the case for war. "I don't think they have much, frankly," he said.

It is understood that Gen Cordingley also has grave concerns about the number of casualties that could result from having to fight all the way to Baghdad.

For anyone who may object to the title or subject of this post, please consider the following; alcohol KILLS 30,000 people in Britain every year. How many people does cannabis kill (without that other great LEGAL drug: tobacco)???????? To date I've never heard of anyone bonging themselves to death!

A testament to the society we live in is the way in which we regulate the use of cannabis. This substance which, for thousands of years, has had known and proven medical benefits and is relatively harmless to the body (except when smoked with tobacco), yet which some unseen force from way-back-when has decided is not suitable for human consumption.

So I sit here contemplating the spliff, a moderately harmless yet wholly illegal object. In actual fact, the dangerous part of the spliff is the part that is legal. When one turns the cannabis into food, it has no harmful physiological effects as it passes through the body.

So we have in this society a situation where it is perfectly legal for me to go into an off-license buy a few bottles of vodka and drink myself into the grave, quite literally, that same night after having glassed someone (and probably caused a few thousand quids worth of damage in the process). But on the other hand I'm not allowed to buy a similar mind altering chemical that wouldn't kill me no matter how much of it I smoked!

Some mornings I just don't understand this species. We seem bent on our mutually assured destruction in the face of a small group of rich totalitarian fascists (who incidentally and also HYPOCRITICALLY supply the same drugs that they have made illegal [like the CIA] !!!!) the whole thing is as sick as our society.

There's a cancer in society, it has many names and many symptoms, the name I choose to use for it is "Hypocrisy". If you boil away all of the other stuff that's in this melting pot of ours what you end up with is the bald-faced lies that those in power spout with the annoying regularity of a rhinoceros relieving itself! There is no right, there is no wrong, there is only life and what we choose to do with it. Those with wealth and power may devote all their energies to raping and exploiting the rest of us, but there's one thing that they can never change.

Their own damnation.

Mother Nature has a way of balancing the scales, sooner or later she'll decide that this insect like plunder of humans cannot go on, then one day BOOM! Another meteor, a Richter 12 earthquake or a polar shift and in the blink of an eye this species will be extinct. Look at what happened to the dinosaurs. It is only the arrogant among us that really believe our position of "supremacy" on this planet; we're only here because the Earth allows us to be.

Just wait until She gets really pissed off and starts fighting back!

Senator presses Ashcroft to justify actions against Hatfill

WASHINGTON (AP) - A Republican senator Wednesday questioned the Justice Department's actions against Dr. Steven Hatfill, who is categorized by the government as "a person of interest" in the investigation into the anthrax attacks.

Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, asked Attorney General John Ashcroft to explain the government policy that prompted the Louisiana State University Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education to sever its ties to Hatfill.

The scientist was placed on administrative leave the day after the Justice Department's Office for Domestic Preparedness e-mailed instructions to "immediately cease and desist" from using Hatfill on any DOJ contract. LSU fired him Sept. 3, saying it had to fulfill its obligations to funding agencies and maintain its academic integrity. The university said it was not making any judgment as to Hatfill's guilt or innocence regarding the FBI probe of the anthrax attacks.

Grassley also asked the attorney general to explain the policy by which he publicly identified Hatfill as "a person of interest" in the criminal investigation of the anthrax attacks.

"It is important that the government act according to laws, rules, policies and procedures, rather than making arbitrary decisions," wrote Grassley, the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on crime and drugs. The Justice Department declined comment on Grassley's letter, citing the ongoing investigation.

TV boss attacks his own programme

For the record John Pilger is one of the most courageous and humanitarian individuals on the planet. The programme described interviewed both Jews and Arabs, and treated each with a tremendous amount of respect. A lot more respect than Pilger has recieved from the people who aired his programme.

Carlton chairman Michael Green has hit out at a documentary by journalist John Pilger on the Palestinians - even though it was made by his own company.

The programme, Palestine Is Still the Issue, was shown on ITV1 on Monday night and was watched by around one million viewers.

It featured Pilger visiting West Bank settlements and interviewing both Palestinians and Israelis as well as Israeli government spokesman Dore Gold.

However, Pilger's opinion, voiced during the programme, that the Middle East conflict stems from Israeli injustices towards the Palestinians attracted a string of criticism.

Sharon in 9/11 War Provocation?

Among senior intelligence analysts in the United States, the Arab world, and Israel, the fear is growing that Ariel Sharon is about to covertly launch a Sept. 11-type terrorist attack targetting the United States—in order to drag President Bush into war against Iraq.

Two factors may be impelling Sharon to take such provocative steps.

First, there is a growing chorus of leading U.S. military figures, active duty and retired, and prominent Republican Party foreign policy mandarins, who are voicing opposition to the war against Saddam Hussein's Iraq. On Aug. 25, former Secretary of State James Baker III added his name to the list of opponents of a unilateral American attack on Iraq on the op ed page of the New York Times. The previous day, the Tampa Tribune had reported that Gen. Anthony Zinni (USMC-ret), who was the previous Commander-in-Chief of the Central Command, and now an adviser to Secretary of State Colin Powell, came out strongly against an Iraq attack, warning of grave strategic consequences.

Zinni also assailed the group of Bush Administration neo-con war advocates who never served a day in uniform. This whole grouping—including Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, James Woolsey, Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas), and even Vice President Dick Cheney—is being widely referred to as the "chickenhawks."

"It's pretty interesting," Zinni told an audience in Tallahassee, Fla., "that all the generals see it the same way, and all the others who have never fired a shot and are hot to go to war, see it another way."

The second factor driving Sharon perhaps to launch a false-flag 9/11-type terror attack on the U.S. is his falling popularity in Israel. It is almost a certainty that there will be a government crisis before the end of the year, and early elections, perhaps over Israel's dire economic crisis and the inability of the Sharon government to agree on a budget.

Bush told the United Nations in seeking to push Saddam Hussein out of Iraq.

Mass graves are bad.

Boston-based Physicians for Human Rights uncovered one in Afghanistan in January. The United States' chief ally in Northern Afghanistan, the warlord Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, appears to have been responsible for the deaths of hundreds, if not more than a thousand, war prisoners he was rounding up on behalf of U.S. forces and transporting to the Sheberghan prison.

They were stuffed into sealed cargo containers and left to asphyxiate. Before death, they'd licked each others' sweat and bitten off their fingertips or torn into their own arms and legs - and those of others - in a desperate search for fluid. Physicians for Human Rights discovered what they believe is the prisoners' mass grave in Dasht-e-Leili.

The Pentagon says no American personnel were involved in, or aware of, the mass deaths, though Americans were nearby processing prisoners who arrived in similar containers. No one in the U.S. government has asked for an investigation into whether forces working for the Americans committed what could well be a war crime. The Pentagon has rebuffed requests that the gravesite at least be secured to preserve evidence for a future inquiry.

Security forces that use methods of torture that include "beating, whipping, electric shock and rape" are bad.

German Politician Compares Bush with Hitler

Finally someone who has the bollocks to call a fascist a fascist!

The White House has condemned comments by German Justice Minister Herta Daeubler-Gmelin likening US President George W Bush's political methods over Iraq to those of Adolf Hitler.

"This statement by the justice minister is outrageous and inexplicable," Bush spokesman Ari Fleischer told reporters.

The regional Schwaebisches Tagblatt newspaper quoted Ms Daeubler-Gmelin, as saying, "Bush wants to divert attention from his domestic problems. It's a classic tactic. It's one that Hitler used."

Throughout the current election campaign in Germany, Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has defied America by opposing US military action against Iraq.

The stance has proved popular with German voters.

When Harry S. Truman was president, he had a problem with one of his commanding generals, Douglas MacArthur. It seems Gen. MacArthur had a problem with taking orders. It seems that Gen. MacArthur may have, in fact, been mad as a hatter, not unlike Jack D. Ripper in Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove. In 1950, without consulting the president, MacArthur asked that 26 atomic bombs be dropped on North Korea and Red China (fortunately, this did not happen). And, by April 1951, Truman had had enough of MacArthur's insubordination. Truman relieved the general of duty and recalled him from the Far East to Washington. Before reporting to the White House, MacArthur went before Congress and gave his famous speech about "Old soldiers never die." Upholding a tradition of moral cowardice that continues to this day, Congress interrupted MacArthur's speech 30 times for standing ovations, even when he reiterated his belief that Manchuria should be bombed and China blockaded. Truman rightly called the scene "a bunch of damn bullshit."

It's a pity we don't have someone in a leadership role in this country to stand up and say the same thing right now. What we do have going on right now, to borrow Truman's assessment, is a bunch of damn bullshit. It is the reverse of what Truman had on his hands. We have a renegade president and vice president, neither of whom ever wore a military uniform in combat -- and neither of whom was duly elected by the majority of America's voters -- lumbering drunkenly around the globe looking to kick some ass. Well, looking for surrogates -- yours and my sons and daughters -- to kick some ass for them. They are openly suggesting a "first strike" and the use of nuclear weapons. The pretext for these unprecedented, MacArthur-like actions are non-existent, save perhaps to seize the oil fields of Iraq, and the dangers are beyond comprehension (a 9/11-style attack on a regular basis?). Think about it: these madmen are actually considering going into the heart of the Muslim world, 1.2 billion strong with wannabe suicidal nut-case martyrs, with no allies except Israel. And the only person who seems to stand between them and World War III is a former commanding general, Colin Powell, who has worn a uniform in battle and knows better. Bush and Cheney suddenly got this Iraq bug up their collective ass about the time the media finally got off its knees to bust Bush's Harken crimes and Cheney's Halliburton crimes (among which were doing $32 million worth of business with Saddam Hussein as the company's CEO).

No more Mr Nice Guy

In the past few weeks Nelson Mandela has called America a 'threat to world peace' and lambasted Dick Cheney as a 'dinosaur'. That's not the sort of language you'd expect from the kindly old statesman who forgave his jailers. But he has always been misunderstood in the west. And now he's got something to be really angry about.

Say what you like about Nelson Mandela, but he is not a man known to bear a grudge or lose his temper easily. Having waited 27 years for his freedom, he emerged from jail to preach peace and reconciliation to a nation scarred by racism. When he finally made the transition from the world's most famous prisoner to the world's most respected statesman, he invited his former jailer to the inauguration.

So when he criticises US foreign policy in terms every bit as harsh as those he used to condemn apartheid, you know something is up. In the past few weeks, he has issued a "strong condemnation" of the US's attitude towards Iraq, lambasted vice-president Dick Cheney for being a "dinosaur" and accused the US of being "a threat to world peace".

Coming from other quarters, such criticisms would have been dismissed by both the White House and Downing Street as the words of appeasement, anti-Americanism or leftwing extremism. But Mandela is not just anyone. Towering like a moral colossus over the late 20th century, his voice carries an ethical weight like no other. He rode to power on a global wave of goodwill, left office when his five years were up and settled down to a life of elder statesmanship. So the belligerent tone he has adopted of late suggests one of two things; either that some thing is very wrong with the world, or that something is very wrong with Mandela.

What Mandela believes is wrong with the world is not difficult to fathom. He is annoyed at how the US is exploiting its overwhelming military might. Earlier this month, after President Bush would not take his calls, he spoke to secretary of state Colin Powell and then the president's father, asking the latter to discourage his son from attacking Iraq.

Bush Must Say 'No' To Israeli Nuclear Blackmail

At an international webcast, before a live audience in Washington on Sept. 11, 2002, I identified three hurdles that had to be overcome to avert an Iraq war that would trigger a perpetual "Clash of Civilizations" religious conflict and a New Dark Age: First, the United Nations Security Council had to become the venue for dealing with the Iraq situation, and a reasonable resolution had to be drafted, that would be agreed to by President Bush, overriding the Sharon-influenced "war party" within his own Administration's senior ranks. Second, the resolution had to be accepted by Iraq's Saddam Hussein, as well as by President Bush. With those two conditions met, LaRouche warned, the gravest, remaining danger to overcome would be a berserker move by Sharon in Israel to sabotage the peaceful resolution and blow up the region.

The illegal return of murder suspect Ian Huntley to secure psychiatric prison for another 28 days of drugs and "truth therapy", highlights the reintroduction of Witch Trials and Inquisitions in the "War on Terror". There is a precedent for Huntley's psychiatric abuse. During 1996, Australian remand prisoner Martin Bryant was held in illegal strict solitary confinement for 150 days, and "helped" by psychiatrists and psychologists until he finally pleaded guilty to the Port Arthur massacre. At no time did Australian police ever try to corroborate Bryant's false "guilty" pleas.

Ian Huntley, who stands accused of the murder of British ten-year-old girls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, was rushed from Rampton high-security psychiatric prison to a court at Peterborough in Cambridgeshire at noon on 10 September 2002. Having run the gauntlet of the obligatory media hate mob pre-positioned outside in the street, Huntley was rapidly processed through the Magistrates Court to the [higher] Crown Court in less that one hour, an all time record for the British legal system which normally allows eight days for this process.

Once in the Crown Court, Huntley was charged with attempted “Conspiracy to pervert the course of justice”, for allegedly lying to police during their investigations. Having been charged with this further startling offence, Ian Huntley was immediately remanded back to Rampton high security psychiatric prison for a further 28 days of psychiatric evaluation.

Not one single British newspaper or television network tried to explain this extraordinary move to the public, though some of the brighter reporters did note a change in Huntley himself, who has been completely at the mercy of the shrinks in Rampton Gulag since 20 August: “Huntley looked gaunt and has lost weight since his arrest just over three weeks ago. His face is spotty and he has grey steaks in his hair. He is a shadow of the stocky man who appeared on TV a month ago to say he was one of the last people to see the girls alive.” The ways in which Huntley has been psychologically tortured to bring about these dramatic changes in his appearance, will be explained in detail later in this report.

By using the Crown Court in this deplorable way to bring a further charge against Huntley, police have actually revealed plenty about their lack of progress in the case. If the shrinks had been able to force a false confession out of Ian Huntley, the police would have visited Rampton in a flash, obtained his signature and sent him to Wormwood Scrubs Prison for life. You see, under British law if a suspect pleads “guilty” there is no need for a trial. Such a result would be very useful in a politically supercharged case like this, where the naked bodies of the two little girls were actually found close to the boundary fence of the controversial USAF base at Lakenheath.

Technically speaking, the police and courts have also erred seriously in law. When Ian Huntley was first committed to Rampton on 20 September 2002 under the Mental Health Act 1983, it was for the express and sole purpose of evaluating whether or not he was psychologically fit to plead. The police “investigation” was thus completely suspended at that precise point in time. If police considered that Huntley had lied to them during their earlier investigation, they should have charged him with conspiracy when they charged him with murder. Period.

You've got to hand it to Saddam. In one brisk, neat letter to Kofi Annan, he pulled the rug from right under George Bush's feet. There was the American president last week, playing the role of multilateralist, warning the world that Iraq had one last chance – through the UN – to avoid Armageddon. "If the Iraqi regime wishes peace," he told us all in the General Assembly, "it will immediately and unconditionally forswear, disclose and remove or destroy all weapons of mass destruction, long-range missiles and all related material." And that, of course, is the point. Saddam would do everything he could to avoid war. President Bush was doing everything he could to avoid peace. And now the Iraqi regime has put the Americans into a corner. The arms inspectors are welcome back in Iraq. No conditions. Just as the Americans asked.

No wonder the United States was whingeing on about "false hopes" yesterday. No wonder the Americans were searching desperately for another casus belli – be sure that they will find one – in an attempt to make sure that their next war keeps to its timetable. Be sure, too, that Saddam, that master of the post-agreement conditional clause, will have a few surprises for the UN inspectors when they do turn up in Baghdad. Will the UN boys be allowed to visit the Beast of Baghdad's palaces? Will they be waved through all checkpoints when they want to visit Tuwaitha or any of the other horror factories in which the Iraqis once cooked up their biological weapons?

Hundreds of thousands of years of human history and this is how it turned out. No superior evolutionary forms. No tranquility for mankind. Instead there are diseased, obese, greedy and warring factions, all manner of conflict, all things profane.

Man struggles on tasks that are otherwise seen as rather basic and unchallenging, for example, noble conduct, watching one's weight, or other natural functions.

We always thought our faith would save us: it is the greatest lie of mankind. We believe more in a supernatural being than we do in our own human reason. When we turn to hate the corruption, hate the poisoners, we are told by the same faith that our hatred must be burnt out from us, and it is no wonder of the result which has caused this world-misery to perpetuate.

In place of justice there stand the figures of authority, a president who is worshipped as god, a congress as his disciples. International bankers control the currency, no one cares. Globalist billionaires reap profits from slave-labor throughout the world; they soon will no longer have any use for decent, honest, "well-paid" workers within the same border; still no one cares. Subhuman street-gangs have transformed society from the frail unto the filth-ridden disaster that it is. Mobsters of every race, working in ties with the government, with the police, with the businesses, with the Vatican, mar the lines between honest and corrupt, between patriotic and treasonous, citizen and crook, good and evil; indeed, they are one in the same.

Still the puppets play as the strings suffocate.

A massive national debt, a corporate debt, a pension fund disaster, a private ownership of national currency, the USA was long dead before any terrorist attack or accounting scandal hit the front page. If it is true what they say that America is the wealthiest nation in the world, why then would it need to flood its borders with mass immigration, send off jobs to third world countries, and borrow money from Europe's banks? How could it be the wealthiest nation when it loses hundreds of billions of dollars?

There is no other choice for the Republican Party which only knows old world means, war and oil, to attempt to save the world's only superpower from economical ruin. The Democratic Party on the other hand only knows how to hide and prolong the catastrophe, and the sheeple are all convinced that a fake 'budget surplus' is the way of the savior. The Greens and the Libertarians too are both poor excuses for what America really needs.

Can we really blame a Democrat for being a Democrat or a Republican for being a Republican? No, we cannot. But we can and must abolish them altogether. For if we don't take action now it will be apocalyptic tomorrow.

These "leaders" condemn White Unity, moderate nationalism, as they do of supremacy, while their policies are at the forefront of empirical disaster. There is no justification for America to remain a "superpower" which in effect is not suicidal but plainly destructive to our own kinfolk, as democracy and globalism (the merge of which can only equal communism) are the failed structures which allowed this fiasco to happen.

In the future, a bulk of all jobs will be filled by slave-labor from third-world countries, all of which are hostile to the white population. Immigrants will flood into our great white countries until they become the underpaid majority. This scheme is the bargaining chip of plutocratic globalists to reverse competition, and the result will force all paychecks to be seriously diminished, save that of the elite. Nigh, this scheme will effectively create a slave-race of the entire world, all in the name of financing the Empire.

We envision a future world with its back against the wall. Increased numbers of people throughout the world will come to realize the failure of the five-permanent-nation UN which links China and Russia on one extreme with that of England and USA

Men of the future will require preservation of their own culture. Just as the Roman Empire destroyed mankind's aboriginal history so too will globalist structures choke off all honorable modern cultural traits. The future aim therefore will be to keep Germany German, Ireland Irish, Norway Norwegian, and so on and so forth. International trading will be reduced to that of necessity. GM Crops An 'Economic Disaster' In The US

Genetically modified crops have been an "economic disaster" in America, costing £8 billion in lost profits and higher subsidies since 1999, according to a report published yesterday.

The study by the Soil Association raises questions over the future of GM crops in Britain, currently undergoing their final round of farm-scale trials before the Government consults on their introduction.

According to the report, called Seeds of Doubt, almost every benefit claimed for GM crops did not stand up to examination. Farmers reported lower yields, continued dependency on chemical sprays and widespread GM contamination of non-GM and organic crops, which in turn damaged exports.

Based on interviews with academics, advisers, farmers and industry analysts in North America, it said that GM crops had delivered few, if any, of the economic benefits promised to farmers.

Pre-Emptive Self Defense - Just Don't Call It War

Bush and Blair, the current sock puppets for Greater Israel's NWO hegemonic ambitions, leaders of the free world and protectors of democracy, claim to have the goods on Saddam. As with Osama, though, the goods are not for our eyes. In fact, Blair urges, merely having established a connection between Osama and Saddam should be enough. No, we can't be trusted with the proof of that, either, of course.

Every time I become self-righteously indignant because these guys actually expect us to believe this tripe, I am stunned anew by the realization that, apparently, most Americans actually do believe it! Hope springs eternal, but I fear that P.T. Barnum was right.

It's tough being among the awake in the early hours. Actually, these aren't really the early hours, anymore. While more and more are tumbling to what's going on, it doesn't seem to be nearly fast enough to save the Union. Increasingly, I doubt the worth of saving it, anyway.

If George Washington and Thomas Jefferson suddenly were brought to life today, I like to think they would buy a bazooka and a road map to Washington, DC. Throw in a red '61 Cadillac convertible and you've got a toga road trip to make Hunter S. Thompson proud! Now, there is reality TV that I might actually watch.

British troops train for Iraq invasion

Did you really think that Tony gives a toss what the rest of us think?

More than 6000 British troops yesterday began the first stage of a dress-rehearsal for the invasion of Iraq in an exercise designed to streamline and test the large-scale movement of supplies, equipment, and vehicles vital for fighting a war.

Over the next month, the men and women involved in Operation Log Viper will transport thousands of tons of logistical supplies by road and air to an RAF base in Suffolk and to Marchwood, the military embarkation port near Southampton.

The Ministry of Defence denied yesterday that the exercise was connected to the growing Iraqi crisis, but military sources said it was a key test of supply lines and the ability of all three services to move ammunition, fuel, and food for a rapid build-up in the Gulf.

Up to 1000 UK Royal Marines from 3 Commando brigade are preparing to fly out to join a US exercise in California's Mojave desert.

Tank and armoured infantry units from the UK's 7th "desert rats" and 4th armoured brigades in Germany have been placed on unofficial alert for deployment to Kuwait, according to military sources.

The World Trade Center Demolition and the So-Called War on Terrorism

If the people of the United States do not themselves cleanse their government of its current corruption, and return the nation to conformity with the principles of a republic, upon which it was founded, then disaster will ensue: Either a global fascist dictatorship will result or the U.S. government will be destroyed by the cooperation of the other countries of the world (using whatever means necessary, military and non-military). Either of these possibilities could produce such damage on a global scale that the survival of the human species would be in doubt.

On September 11, 2001, the 28th anniversary of the CIA-directed military coup d'etat in Chile (and the 2nd anniversary of the coming into effect of a peace treaty known as WYE II, signed on September 4th, 1999, at Sharm-el-Sheik by PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Baruk, to come into effect one week later), terrorists (but not Arab terrorists) took control of four planes and (according to the official story) crashed two of them into the World Trade Center towers, causing fires within. Again according to the official story (pre-written and rushed into print in the mainstream media immediately after the events, together with the identity of the alleged culprit) the fires then caused the steel girders to melt and the towers to collapse.

But, as will be shown below, the Twin Towers did not collapse because of the plane impacts and the fires. The most likely explanation is that explosives were placed besides their structural supports at numerous levels in the towers, explosives which were detonated 56 and 104 minutes after the planes hit, bringing the towers down in controlled implosions, killing several thousand American citizens and others.

The Twin Towers were designed to survive the impact of a Boeing 707, which in weight, size and speed is similar to a Boeing 767 (the kind of jet which hit the South Tower). Had one of the towers collapsed, that would have been amazing. That both of them collapsed, quickly, neatly and symmetrically (without falling over onto the surrounding buildings in Manhattan's financial district), collapsed completely into fragments, ash and huge clouds of dust — with no remains of their central massive vertical steel columns left standing — solely as a result of the plane impacts and the resulting fires, is, upon examination, unbelievable, despite what the so-called "experts" say.

Due to the astuteness of some Americans, who thought hard about the U.S. government's explanation of the events of September 11th, the official story quickly began to unravel. The big lie has been revealed for what it is (but word of this has not yet reached most people). And the reason for it. If you don't already know, this page will inform you as to what really happened and what's really going on. As in the "War on Drugs", in the "War on Terrorism" just say 'Know'.

An early version of this web page (to mid-October 2001) supported the thesis that the terrorist attacks of September 11th were carried out by Arab hijackers but that the operation was actually an inside job (that is, so-called Americans planned and directed it). There were always problems with the "Arab hijackers" theory, but since only those ready to die for their cause would deliberately kill themselves by flying planes into the Twin Towers there seemed no alternative. New evidence, however, emerged, and it now seems that it was entirely an inside job, the only Arabs involved being those set up to take the blame. Hard to believe, perhaps (especially because of the constant repetition in the mainstream media, in the weeks following the event, of the term "suicide attack"). Shocking, yes. But if one looks at the evidence, and thinks about it, this is what emerges.

Until February 2002 the author of this page believed that part of the official story which asserted that the four "hijacked" Boeings all crashed as stated (two into the Twin Towers, one into the Pentagon and one in a field in Pennsylvania). New evidence suggests that in fact only one of these Boeings crashed — the one that crashed in Pennsylvania. (What happened to the other three planes, and their passengers, will be revealed below.) In the light of this new evidence this web page underwent a major revision in early April 2002. Evidence which has come to light since then strongly suggests that, as is common in coups, generals were involved, and the possibility has emerged that the Twin Towers were wired for demolition well in advance of September 11th. Accordingly this web page underwent a major revision in late August 2002.

The implications of this analysis are disturbing, but to ignore them (or the evidence itself) would be an attempt at denial which would constitute a surrender to evil. In this matter anyone with any degree of moral awareness will want to know the truth, however unpalatable or unflattering to national leaders. Continued willful ignorance on the part of the American people may result in slavery for all people everywhere, following death and destruction of a magnitude far greater than that of World War II.

1. In view of the $30 billion given annually to the FBI, the CIA and other U.S. "intelligence" agencies, why were these agencies completely unaware (or so they say) of this conspiracy before they saw its results on CNN? And why has this (apparent) incompetence been rewarded with yet more billions?

2. The four AA and UA jets took off with an average occupancy rate of 27%. That four airliners from major airlines leaving from the East Coast around 9 a.m. on a weekday for the West Coast would all have such low occupancy rates is highly unlikely. Was the booking system tampered with in order to ensure such low occupancy rates (so that the passengers from all four planes could eventually be loaded onto UA Flight 93 for elimination)?

3. Why would hijackers intending to crash planes into the WTC hijack jets taking off from Boston rather than from someplace closer such as JFK Airport in New York?

4. Why would hijackers intending to crash a plane into the Pentagon hijack a jet from Dulles Airport near Washington DC (and thus close to the Pentagon) and allow it to fly for 40 minutes away from its target before turning around and flying another 40 minutes back to it (knowing that interception by military jets during this time would in normal circumstances have been very likely)?

5. AA Flight 77 (the jet which allegedly crashed into the Pentagon) was allegedly hijacked at about 9 a.m., at about the same time as the Twin Tower impacts, and its change of course back toward Washington, or its transponder having been turned off, would have been known to flight controllers, who were aware of the impacts; why, then, were U.S. Air Force jets not scrambled to intercept AA Flight 77, when there were U.S. Air Force jets at seven locations normally ready to take off at ten minutes' notice?

6. Where are the black boxes (the flight data recorders and the cockpit voice recorders) from all four jets? These black boxes are designed to survive any crash. Have they been examined by experts from the National Transportation Safety Board, the agency which normally investigates airplane crashes? If not, why not?

7. In particular, what is on the FDR and the CVR from UA Flight 93, the jet which crashed in Pennsylvania? Were there any recorded radio transmissions from this jet just prior to its crash, and if so what were they? Why, exactly, did this jet crash? Was it shot down?

8. "Workers at Indian Lake Marina [six miles from the place where UA Flight 93 crashed] said that they saw a cloud of confetti-like debris descend on the lake and nearby farms minutes after hearing the explosion that signaled the crash [or the attack on the jet] at 10:06 a.m. Tuesday." (Pittsburg Post Gazette, Sept. 13, 2001) If this plane was not shot down, but rather remained intact until hitting the ground, how could this debris travel the six miles from the crash site to Indian Lake in minutes when there was only a 10 mph wind blowing? (For wind-borne debris to travel six miles in, say, six minutes requires a 60 mph wind.)

9. Were the conversations between the pilots of the other three hijacked planes and air traffic controllers recorded? If so, what did those pilots say? Were those recordings siezed by the FBI? Were (alleged) transcripts given by the FBI to the mainstream media? Were those transcripts fabricated to provide false evidence in support of the "Arab hijackers" story?

10. If no commercial TV cameras were trained on the North Tower at the time of impact, what was the source of the transmission of the North Tower impact which George W. Bush says he saw before he went into the classroom in Florida? Why did he do nothing (except listen to a little girl's story about her pet goat) for thirty minutes after he was informed that the second jet hit the WTC? Did Bush have prior knowledge of the WTC attack?

11. Considering that all persons on board all four planes died, how did the FBI come up so quickly with a list of names of the alleged nineteen Arab hijackers — including aliases used by fourteen of them, in some cases seven aliases (see the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 2001-09-27)? Did they simply pick out all names on the passenger lists which sounded Middle Eastern? Indeed, were those names on the passenger lists at all? If not, why not? Or did the FBI know in advance the names (and aliases) of the "Arab hijackers" on those flights?

12. Why did the South Tower collapse first, 56 minutes after it was hit, rather than the North Tower (which was hit first and collapsed 1 hour and 44 minutes after being hit), even though the fire in the North Tower (the alleged cause of the collapse) was more intense?

13. If the outer perimeter walls of the Twin Towers were connected to the central cores only by lightweight trusses, how was wind load on the towers transmitted to the central core (as it must have been because the floors did not buckle in a strong wind)?

14. What exactly was the nature of the structural connections between the outer perimeter wall and the central core of the two towers? Is it not false that this consisted only of lightweight flimsy trusses? Is it not the case that the connection was actually made with 32,000 tons of steel beams?

15. Why are the architect's plans of the Twin Towers not publicly available?

16. Would jet fuel burning in an enclosed space (with little oxygen available for combustion) actually produce temperatures high enough (1538°C, i.e. 2800°F) to melt massive steel beams (and all the steel beams, since steel conducts heat efficiently) enclosed in concrete in just 56 minutes? If so, wouldn't the Twin Towers have buckled and bent, and toppled over onto the surrounding buildings in the Lower Manhattan financial district, rather than collapsing neatly upon themselves in the manner of a controlled demolition?

17. Were the Twin Towers re-engineered in the mid-1990s to make possible a collapse-on-demand if that were judged necessary? Was FEMA aware of this? Do blueprints of the Twin Towers in the possession of the past owners reveal any evidence of this?

18. Why were such huge quantities of ash and dust produced? How could fire convert concrete into dust? Has the ash been chemically analysed to determine what it really is and how it might have been produced?

19. Were any tests done on the debris for the presence of radioactivity?

20. Is it not the case that the Twin Towers collapsed, not because of airliner impacts and fires, but because they were expertly demolished (even though we do not yet know exactly how this was accomplished)?

21. Who stood to benefit from the complete destruction of the Twin Towers?

22. What was the actual size of the entrance hole made by the object which hit the Pentagon? Is it not the case that photographic evidence reveals that it was in fact at most just a few meters in diameter, much too small to have been made by a Boeing 757 jet, but just the right size for a missile?

23. Why were no aircraft fragments, identifiable as coming from a Boeing 757, recovered from the Pentagon crash site?

24. Why were no remains of the approximately sixty passengers and crew on the jet which allegedly hit the Pentagon returned to relatives for burial?

25. Why was the debris from the collapsed Twin Towers removed from the site with no forensic examination? Why was almost all of it sold to scrap merchants and shipped abroad where it would not be available for scientific examination?

26. In September the Securities and Exchange Commission initiated an inquiry to establish who benefited from the unusually high numbers of put options purchased prior to September 11 for shares in companies whose stock prices subsequently plummeted, on the supposition that whoever was behind the hijacking was also behind most of the purchases of these put options. Why has this inquiry stalled? Why have those who benefited from the purchases of these put options not been identified (or at least, not publicly)?

27. Is it not the case that this atrocity was planned and carried out by elements at high levels of command in the U.S. Air Force, the CIA, the Justice Department and FEMA (possibly with the involvement of well-placed civilians outside the government), acting under orders from, or with the approval of, high officials within the U.S. Administration, and that those same elements are now directing a propaganda campaign against the American people to justify a war of aggression in Asia and the Middle East aimed at controlling the oil and mineral wealth of those regions?

28. Why is the U.S. mainstream media ignoring questions like these?

Years ago, in a snug underground restaurant in downtown Tehran, drinking duq – an Iranian beverage of mint and yogurt– Saddam Hussein's former head of nuclear research told me what happened when he made a personal appeal for the release of a friend from prison. "I was taken directly from my Baghdad office to the director of state security," he said. "I was thrown down the stairs to an underground cell and then stripped and trussed up on a wheel attached to the ceiling. Then the director came to see me.

" 'You will tell us all about your friends – everything,' he said. 'In your field of research, you are an expert, the best. In my field of research, I am the best man.' That's when the whipping and the electrodes began."

All this happened, of course, when Saddam Hussein was still our friend, when we were encouraging him to go on killing Iranians in his 1980-88 war against Tehran, when the US government – under President Bush Sr– was giving Iraq preferential agricultural assistance funding. Not long before, Saddam's pilots had fired a missile into an American warship called the Stark and almost sunk it. Pilot error, claimed Saddam – the American vessel had been mistaken for an Iranian oil tanker – and the US government cheerfully forgave the Iraqi dictator.

Those were the days. But sitting in the United Nations General Assembly last week, watching President Bush Jr tell us with all his Texan passion about the beatings and the whippings and the rapes in Iraq, you would have thought they'd just been discovered. For sheer brazen historical hypocrisy, it would have been difficult to beat that part of the President's speech. Saddam, it appears, turned into a bad guy when he invaded Kuwait in 1990. Before that, he was just a loyal ally of the United States, a "strong man" – as the news agency boys like to call our dictators – rather than a tyrant.

But the real lie in the President's speech – that which has dominated American political discourse since the crimes against humanity on 11 September last year – was the virtual absence of any attempt to explain the real reasons why the United States has found itself under attack.

Bush's 9/11 Reichstag Fire

When Hitler was rising to power in 1930s Germany, somebody did him the favor of burning the Reichstag, the German Parliament. It's widely believed the Nazis torched it themselves.

Hitler's cynical minions turned that fire into a horrific wave of terror. They blamed "the communists" and the Jews, the trade unionists and the homosexuals. With the support of a terrified populace, they suspended civil rights and civil liberties, fattened their war machine and rode the fascist tide into a full-blown dictatorship. The rest, as they say, is history.

The neverending White House-sponsored orgy of 9/11 rhetoric, recrimination and retaliation has become a treacherous parallel. Few Americans believe the Bush Administration itself brought down the World Trade Center last year. But the conviction is widespread throughout Europe and the Muslim world, and for good reason.

This unelected regime---Hitler also came to power with a minority of votes---has used the terrible tragedies of September 11 in much the way the Nazis jumped on the Reichstag fire. Bush has failed to capture or try 9/11's alleged perpetrators. But he's used the tragedy to push an extreme rightist agenda aimed at crushing civil liberties, silencing all opposition, fattening a war machine, and arrogating the right to unilaterally attack other countries without tangible provocation.

With this has come an assault on the natural environment, women's rights, gay rights, organized labor, a wide range of international treaties, and the need of the public to know about and prosecute corporate crime and fraudulent stock dealings, which seem to involve at least half the Bush cabinet, including its two ranking members.

Russians Link 911 To US Financial Crisis To Iraq War

The Russian intelligence-linked weekly "Zavtra" publishes, in its latest edition, the transcript of a round table discussion on the world situation since Sept 11 of last year.

Participants were "Zavtra" deputy editor Alexander Nagorny, strategic analyst General Leonid Ivashov, financial expert Mikhael Khazin, the well-known Russian television commentator Mikhail Leontyev and former high-level KGB official Leonid Shebarshin.

The discussion contains interesting elements, on how relatively well-placed Russian observers are thinking about the present situation. Here are some excerpts (quotes in quotation marks, the rest is paraphrase):

Ivashov: Sept 11 was an internal operation in the United States. It is necessary to recognize two forces operating in the U.S., "that have two different conceptions on using the military power of the U.S. to create a world empire."

"The first... wants the U.S. as a powerful nation. The second, the world financial elite ... considers that the U.S. must be subjugated to the world empire, whose time has come.... It is not an accident, that many Western commentators speak of Sept 11 as an attempted coup d'etat... The force that gave the order [for the attacks], I believe, is connected with the world financial mafias, having representatives in the power structures of the USA, including the intelligence and special services.

"It is also no accident, that parallel with the investigation of the Sept. 11 attack, investigations are going on concerning the activities of a number of other structures, including the Mossad, within the U.S. intelligence community.... I believe the ongoing events in the U.S. will develop out of the conflict between these two forces.

"What unites them, is the necessity to use the military power of the U.S. to crash down the boundaries of sovereign states.... Behind this is the various geopolitical theories of Huntington, Brzezinski, etc....

Rebel MPs to force Iraq vote

Woo hoo! We have elected officials who listen to the people! Excellent! Now, codshitters make sure you phone your MP and express your hope that they will join in forcing this vote!

Rebel Labour MPs will defy the Prime Minister by forcing a Commons vote on Iraq next week in the hope that their public revolt will persuade him to soften his hawkish stance.

Downing Street said last week that there would be no vote when Parliament returns from its summer break for an emergency debate on the Iraq crisis a week tomorrow. Instead of discussing a motion about the Government's policy on Iraq, the Commons will debate a technical motion for the House to adjourn.

MPs do not normally vote at the end of such a debate. But the Labour rebels, angry at being denied a full vote on plans for military action against Saddam Hussein, will call a division and vote against the technical motion.

Alice Mahon, the MP for Halifax, said yesterday that she believed that up to 100 Labour backbenchers could join the rebellion. "There is no doubt that there will be a vote," she said. "It would send a powerful message." She criticised Jack Straw, the Foreign Secretary, for making "warlike" comments, such as when he said the UN had to give President Saddam "a very clear choice ­ either he deals with those weapons of mass destruction or his regime will have to end".

The US War Party's Imperial Plans

Fortunes of war await Bush's circle after attacks on Iraq

Why should our brothers and sisters be sent to fight and die so that a few rich bastards can get even richer, pollute the world even more, kill innocent people, tell lies on TV and expect to get away with it?

The last time the United States went to war against Iraq, Dick Cheney did very nicely from it.

Having served as Defence Secretary, and basked in the reflected glory of the US military's surprisingly rapid advance across the desert sands to end the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait, he then managed to reap benefits of a very different kind once the war was over and he left government to become chief executive of Halliburton, the Texas-based oil services company.

When the United Nations relaxed its sanctions regime in 1998 and permitted Iraq to buy spare parts for its oil fields, it was Halliburton, under Mr Cheney's leadership, that cleaned up on the contract to repair war damage and get Saddam Hussein's oil pipes flowing at full capacity again. Two Halliburton subsidiaries did business worth almost $24m (£15m) with the man whom these days Mr Cheney calls a "murderous dictator" and "the world's worst leader".

Horror at Dubya's Secret Attack Plan on 7 Countries

President Bush faced world anger last night over America's seven-nation nuclear hit list.

British MPs joined the outcry after a leaked Pentagon report revealed contingency plans to use nuclear weapons against China, Russia, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Syria and Libya. The secret policy was denounced as warmongering "lunacy".

Alarmed officials from Moscow to Tehran warned that the "power crazy" President, buoyed up by the successful campaign in Afghanistan, could plunge the world into chaos. British politicians said the strategy threatened the stability of the NATO alliance.

International tension mounted as Washington pressed Britain to back an attack on Iraq - including the possible commitment of 25,000 British troops to topple Saddam Hussein.

Cabinet Minister Clare Short hinted that she might resign if Tony Blair supported a mass strike against Baghdad. She said: "We need to deal with the problem of Saddam Hussein - we don't need to inflict further suffering on the people of Iraq."

Labour MPs Alice Mahon and Tam Dalyell will today deliver a letter to 10 Downing Street warning the Prime Minister against joining any military action.

US Vice President Dick Cheney arrived in London last night for talks with Mr Blair which will cover the threat posed by Iraq.

This article was originally was written in response to efforts to conceal the Israeli spy scandal, the largest spy ring ever uncovered in the United States, behind cries of "hate" and "anti-Semite". I am not "anti-Jewish", I am anti-espionage. There's a difference. I don't blame the Jewish people for the crimes of the Israeli government and the Mossad any more than I blame Americans for the crimes of the United States Government and the CIA. Israel's supporters constantly spin any criticism of Israel's actions as hate against the Jewish people. Indeed so desperate are Israel's supporters to dismiss criticism of Israel while being unable to refute the actual facts that they have taken to describing Jewish critics of Israel as "self-hating Jews."

The current focus on the Israeli spy ring is about crimes committed against our nation by a foreign government, plain and simple, and whether one opposes those crimes or is accessory to those crimes by seeking to conceal them. There can be a no more dangerous path than for our government, our media, and our citizens than to ignore the presence of the largest spy ring ever uncovered within our nation simply because it is connected with a "protected" nation presumed to be above reproach or criticism.

I urge you to all to continue to contact your representatives and your local media and demand a full and public hunt for the spies in our midst. Those who seek to protect those spies by suppressing this story must be suspect.

In the wake of the revelation of yet another spy scandal involving the Mossad, involving the arrests of the largest spy ring ever uncovered inside the United States, and the existence of a huge system that allowed Israel to track telephone calls by media, politicians, law enforcement, indeed all Americans, as well as the means to eavesdrop on actual calls by using the wiretapping system built into the telephone system by an Israeli owned company, any and all reports of this scandal have been met with the charges of "hate speech" and "anti-Semite". Recent weeks have seen supporters of the self-proclaimed Democracy of Israel resorting to endless hacker attacks and online smear campaigns against web sites and authors whose only "crime" is to not go along with Israel's agenda or of refusing to bury embarrassing scandals.

These phrases, "hate speech" and "anti-Semite", are well-worn devices to shut up a critic of Israel without having to answer the criticisms. Indeed they have been used so much that they have become red warning flags that the person using those phrases has something to hide and needs to shut down the discussion by any means possible. By screaming "hate speech" or "anti-Semite", Israel's supporters hope to shut down the debate without actually examining the issues involved.

U.S. Drillers Eye Huge Petroleum Pool

A U.S.-led ouster of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein could open a bonanza for American oil companies long banished from Iraq, scuttling oil deals between Baghdad and Russia, France and other countries, and reshuffling world petroleum markets, according to industry officials and leaders of the Iraqi opposition.

Although senior Bush administration officials say they have not begun to focus on the issues involving oil and Iraq, American and foreign oil companies have already begun maneuvering for a stake in the country's huge proven reserves of 112 billion barrels of crude oil, the largest in the world outside Saudi Arabia.

The importance of Iraq's oil has made it potentially one of the administration's biggest bargaining chips in negotiations to win backing from the U.N. Security Council and Western allies for President Bush's call for tough international action against Hussein. All five permanent members of the Security Council -- the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China -- have international oil companies with major stakes in a change of leadership in Baghdad.

Abolish the Federal Reserve

While we're at it, let's do the same to the Bank of England over here!!!

Mr. Speaker, I rise to introduce legislation to restore financial stability to America's economy by abolishing the Federal Reserve. I also ask unanimous consent to insert the attached article by Lew Rockwell, president of the Ludwig Von Mises Institute, which explains the benefits of abolishing the Fed and restoring the gold standard, into the record.

Since the creation of the Federal Reserve, middle and working-class Americans have been victimized by a boom-and-bust monetary policy. In addition, most Americans have suffered a steadily eroding purchasing power because of the Federal Reserve's inflationary policies. This represents a real, if hidden, tax imposed on the American people.

From the Great Depression, to the stagflation of the seventies, to the burst of the dotcom bubble last year, every economic downturn suffered by the country over the last 80 years can be traced to Federal Reserve policy. The Fed has followed a consistent policy of flooding the economy with easy money, leading to a misallocation of resources and an artificial "boom" followed by a recession or depression when the Fed-created bubble bursts.

With a stable currency, American exporters will no longer be held hostage to an erratic monetary policy. Stabilizing the currency will also give Americans new incentives to save as they will no longer have to fear inflation eroding their savings. Those members concerned about increasing America's exports or the low rate of savings should be enthusiastic supporters of this legislation.

Though the Federal Reserve policy harms the average American, it benefits those in a position to take advantage of the cycles in monetary policy. The main beneficiaries are those who receive access to artificially inflated money and/or credit before the inflationary effects of the policy impact the entire economy. Federal Reserve policies also benefit big spending politicians who use the inflated currency created by the Fed to hide the true costs of the welfare-warfare state. It is time for Congress to put the interests of the American people ahead of the special interests and their own appetite for big government.

Abolishing the Federal Reserve will allow Congress to reassert its constitutional authority over monetary policy. The United States Constitution grants to Congress the authority to coin money and regulate the value of the currency. The Constitution does not give Congress the authority to delegate control over monetary policy to a central bank. Furthermore, the Constitution certainly does not empower the federal government to erode the American standard of living via an inflationary monetary policy.

The Dirtiest of Dirty Wars

Just for a moment, let's stop the beating of the war drum and take a look at the facts. Iraq hasn't done anything to anyone that justifies Bush's desired invasion. Even the US Government has now admitted it had no basis for the claim that Iraq had any connection with 9-11. Why then the constant attempt to subvert anger and indignation for 9-11 towards a war in Iraq, especially when evidence does exist (classified by the US Government) that points in another direction? There is no proof that Iraq has any weapons of mass destruction. The ones the US gave Saddam to use on Iran are gone. There is no proof that Iraq would actually use weapons of mass destruction in a non-defensive role even if they exist, with both the US and Israel major nuclear powers, and the US historically proven as willing to use nuclear weapons of mass destruction on civilian populations. Is defiance of the UN alone justification for invasion? If so, then why not invade Israel, which has defined far more UN resolutions than Iraq ever has, and invaded far more of its neighbors than Iraq ever has while concealing its own arsenal of weapons of mass destruction. Why is there no demand for the UN inspectors to examine the arsenals of all aggressor nations equally?

When that happens, that portion of the government debt held by foreign interests will explode as the exchange rates shift. Where today the US Government owes a million, tomorrow it will be three million, or five, or worse. Barely able to meet the interest payments now, and with a finite upper limit on tax revenues from a population already forced to accept lower paying jobs with each passing week, the US Government will default on its loans.

Massive world recession to occur if Iraq attacked: Economist

Is it me or are "Geedubya & His Hawks" and "Phoney Tony & His Cronies" the only bands at this Iraq gig...? I mean everyone else on the planet seems to think that the whole thing is the worst idea in the history of bad ideas... Or did I miss the bus on that one?!?

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), which operates under the Economist magazine, predicted that the world would suffer a massive recession if Iraq were attacked and Middle East oil producers protested by pushing up the oil price.

Robin Bew, the chief economist of the EIU, told Xinhua in a written commentary Thursday, "Our forecasts assume that the United States does attack Iraq, and that the Middle East oil producers oppose the US action and team up to cut oil production, and thereby, pushing the oil price to, say, 70 US dollars a barrel or more, that would deliver a massive supply-side shock to the global economy and probably trigger a massive recession, similar to the oil shocks in the 1970s," Bew said.

Turning to the US economy, Christopher Nailer, the Singapore- based regional economist of the EIU, also told Xinhua in the commentary that the current imbalance in the US economy is severe, saying that sluggish growth is forecast for both 2002 and 2003.

"We expect the US economy to grow only 2.4 percent in 2002 and accelerate to only 2.8 percent in 2003. This is better than 2001 when the US economy grew only 0.3 percent, but still very weak.

What War Looks Like

The talk is about strategy and tactics, geopolitics and personalities. It is about air war and ground war, weapons of mass destruction, arms inspections, alliances, oil, and "regime change."

What is missing is what an American war on Iraq will do to tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of ordinary human beings who are not concerned with geopolitics and military strategy, and who just want their children to live, to grow up. They are not concerned with "national security" but with personal security, with food and shelter and medical care and peace.

I am speaking of those Iraqis and those Americans who will, with absolute certainty, die in such a war, or lose arms or legs, or be blinded. Or they will be stricken with some strange and agonizing sickness that could lead to their bringing deformed children into the world (as happened to families in Vietnam, Iraq, and also the United States).

You had to sit in the auditorium of the UN General Assembly yesterday to realise that George Bush Jnr – threatening war in what was built as a house of peace – could appear such a little man. But then again Julius Caesar was a little man and so was Napoleon Bonaparte. So were other more modern, less mentionable world leaders. Come to think of it so was General Douglas MacArthur, who had his own axis of evil, which took him all the way to the Yalu river.

But yesterday, two-thirds of the way through his virtual declaration of war, there came a little, dangerous, telltale code, which suggested that President Bush really does intend to send his tanks across the Tigris river. "The United States has no quarrel with the Iraqi people,'' he said. In the press gallery, nobody stirred. Below us, not a diplomat shifted in his seat. The speech had already rambled on for 20 minutes but the speechwriters must have known what this meant when they cobbled it together.

At the head is a small group of banking houses, generally referred to as 'international bankers.'"

Were these leading public figures correct in their assessment of the situation, or were they the victims of some exotic form of paranoia?

One year after the September 11 terrorist attacks that killed more than 3,000 people, there has not been a single public congressional hearing, no official report has been prepared, and many of the most basic facts remain shrouded in secrecy.

Despite its public show of sympathy for the victims and their families, the Bush administration is denying them what is their most basic right: a thorough investigation into the causes of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and the circumstances in which they took place.

As a New York Times article published on the anniversary noted, this failure to investigate is unprecedented for a disaster of such scope. A public probe into the sinking of the Titanic, the newspaper noted, began the morning after the survivors arrived in New York City. The Warren Commission felt compelled to report its findings on the Kennedy assassination by the first anniversary of the president’s murder. Similar investigations were conducted into the US military failure at Pearl Harbor in 1941, the explosion that destroyed the Challenger space shuttle, and other disasters.

Citizens concerned about sanctions against Iraq, peace with justice in the Middle East, and nuclear disarmament have an obligation to speak out forcefully against the Israeli nuclear program.

US accused of double standards at UN

America's determination to topple Saddam Hussein has intensified the debate over enforcement of UN resolutions, reviving claims they are selectively targeted to reflect the political interests of the major powers.

US threatens world peace, says Mandela

Did you know that as a congressman Dick Cheney actually voted against a resolution supporting the release of Nelson Mandela from prison.

One of the world's most respected statesmen, Nelson Mandela, has condemned United States intervention in the Middle East as "a threat to world peace".

In an interview with the US magazine, Newsweek published on Wednesday, the former South African president repeated his call for President George Bush not to launch attacks on Iraq.

And Mr Mandela, 84, called some of Mr Bush's senior advisors, including Vice President Dick Cheney "dinosaurs".

He said that the United States' backing for a coup by the Shah of Iran in 1953 had led to that country's Islamic revolution in 1979.

On Afghanistan, Mr Mandela said that US support for the mujahideen (including Osama Bin Laden) against the Soviet Union and its refusal to work with the United Nations after the Soviet withdrawal led to the Taleban taking power.

"If you look at those matters, you will come to the conclusion that the attitude of the United States of America is a threat to world peace," he said.

Cancer breakthrough stuns scientific world

Scientists have successfully destroyed cervical cancer cells using a revolutionary new technique which is being hailed as one of the most important developments in medicine for decades.

The technique, called RNA interference (RNAi), completely eliminated all the cancer cells growing in a test tube yet left healthy cells unharmed. The scientists called the results "absolutely remarkable".

As the findings were released on Thursday, it emerged that another team of researchers were planning the world's first clinical trial of the technique, this time on a group of Aids patients. The trial is expected to begin within the next two years.

Parliament to be recalled after Blair bows to pressure for debate

Tony Blair is expected to bow to pressure to recall Parliament from its three-month summer break to discuss plans for military action against Iraq.

The Commons is likely to sit for one or two days the week after next, possibly on the day when the Government publishes its long-awaited dossier of evidence about Saddam Hussein's efforts to obtain chemical, biological and nuclear weapons.

Responding to a growing clamour from MPs for an emergency debate on Iraq, Mr Blair told the TUC conference in Blackpool yesterday: "Before there is any question of taking military action, I can categorically assure you that Parliament will be consulted and will have the fullest opportunity to debate the matter and express its view." The Prime Minister's words on Iraq were heard in silence but he won a polite 50-second standing ovation from most TUC delegates after saying President Saddam should be dealt with through the United Nations.

Might the PM have forgotten the trip? No, this reply is misleading. Blair attended the 1993 Bilderberg Conference in Athens. He even belatedly declared it in the register of members' interests. His presence was reported in, to take just one source, The London Times, 4th March 1996, page 16 in an article entitled Wall Street, treason and Pat Buchanan by William Rees-Mogg, who attended Bilderberg 1993 in Athens too.

What we are not told is that anything that took place before Blair was made PM is deemed not to have existed when replying to parliamentary questions. How convenient!

EU 'has used September 11 to curb dissent'

The European Union has taken advantage of September 11 to curb dissent in what amounts to a "war on freedom and democracy", according to a report published yesterday.

The civil liberties group Statewatch said the EU was acquiring draconian powers to harry protesters and carry out surveillance of ordinary citizens, but lacked the normal safeguards to prevent their abuse.

It described the EU's secretive and unaccountable system as a democracy "built on sand".

Among the "avalanche" of new measures since September 11 is a new law extending the definition of terrorism to ordinary political protest.

It's started again. Early in the morning some idiot starts ringing my doorbell. It was ringing and ringing and ringing, and I knew right away it was one of the Geriatric Gestapo of the Neighborhood Watch Association. They're the only ones that would do it - ring five or six times in a row like that. And sure enough it was - complaining about the Fluffster. Anyway Fluffy the cat was over at the golf club parking lot, where he likes to hang out with all the Cadillacs and their American flags that the Geriatric Gestapo like to put on their cars. The Fluffster has gotten into the habit of tearing the flags off of them.

To him, it's just something to play with. The flags are blowing in the breeze, and the cat gets on top of the cars. He takes his paws and grabs at the flag and his claws get stuck in the flag. Then in order to get his claws out, he will literally tear the flag right off the little wooden pole. His claws get stuck in there because they're all cheap little seventy-nine cent American flags - made in China, of course. They're just stapled on to the wood. So the Fluffster, in order to get his claws out, has to tear the flag off the pole. And people are thinking he's doing it on purpose. These oldsters are convinced that I've trained him to do it on purpose because I told them so. I've told them that the Fluffster is a duly enlightened cat, and he's doing his part to prevent the spread of "Dangerous Blind Patriotism."

Why does Bush oppose the ICC?

A new website that I heard about, it's aim is to provide updates and action alerts regarding the ICC and opposition to the ICC in the U.S. It's a view you won't hear in the "mass" media!

The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court received the required ratifications to enter into force on on April 11, 2002, when 10 countries deposited the instrument of ratification with the UN Secretary General, bringing the total number of ratifications to 66. The statute entered in to force on July 1st, 2002. On this day, over 70 countries have ratified the treaty. States must complete ratification by 30 November 2002 in order to participate in the nomination and election of judges and the Prosecutor. The Court is expected to be fully functional by mid-2003.

The Bush Administration opposes the International Criminal Court because the ICC will make it more difficult to conduct war. The ICC will help to deter war. Right-wing opposition to the ICC in the United States is not wholly a result of egoism and unilateralism, it is in the interest of protecting the ability of a few to profit from war. The ICC will represent the interests of the many who suffer from war and other crimes against humanity.

The US Ambassador to Yemen, Ms. Barbara Bodine, forbade O'Neill and his team of so-called Rambos (as the Yemeni authorities called them) from entering Yemen. In August 2001, O'Neill resigned in frustration and took up a new job as head of security at the World Trade Center. He died in the September 11th attack.

Hero's burial for loyal Afghan who saved his president

With the turquoise dome of the shrine to the 18th-century father of the Afghan nation rising in the background, Muhammad Akbar paused, leaned on his pick and said that he had never before been asked to dig a grave in the sacred soil of this compound.

The grave was for Azimullah Muhammad, an 18-year-old who a week ago was an unknown seller of plastic water jugs from a dimly lit stall deep inside Kandahar's main bazaar. Now he is Afghanistan's newest hero, to be buried alongside mujahideen heroes of the guerilla war against the Soviet Union.

On Friday, television viewers around the world saw BBC footage of a man in a brown tunic watching as an Afghan Army guard shot at President Hamid Karzai and the Kandahar governor, Gul Agha Shirzai.

"Azimullah didn't hesitate a second, he just jumped on him when he saw him shooting," Khalil Pashtoon, the governor's press secretary, said. "If he had not been there, the soldier would have very easily assassinated President Karzai."

Now that's what I call "honourable", do you care so much about your country that you'd be willing to take a bullet for your elected leader? The unfortunate thing is that the cynics and warmongers in the UK and US see an opportunity to Big Up the United States so they don't tell the world of the heroic act of a lone Afghan child and instead try and make us believe that they're so good at what they do. They've lost any moral authority they may have had and are now reduced to lying about events to paint themselves in a better light. Some people just don't get it, certainly not an ignorant bunch of right-wing Texan hooligans!

Embassy blamed for bombings

Saudis accuse British staff of destabilisation campaign: Oh goody now maybe we'll be put on the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism and the yanks will come and bomb the House of Commons!

British embassy staff in Riyadh have been accused by the Saudi Arabian authorities of coordinating a campaign of anti-western terrorist bombings in the kingdom, the Guardian has learned.
The accusation that the British embassy in Riyadh coordinated the bombings to destabilise the Saudi regime is the latest and most bizarre piece of information to escape the pall of secrecy behind which the Saudis have been conducting legal proceedings against seven westerners who say they have been tortured into making false confessions.

Two Britons have been killed and several other westerners maimed or injured since November 2000 in a bombing campaign widely believed to be the work of anti-western extremists.

The allegation against the British mission in Riyadh, confirmed yesterday by the Foreign Office, was at the heart of the prosecution case against five Britons, a Canadian and a Belgian detained in the kingdom.

Yes, of course we all feel very sorry about the deaths of the 2,801 victims in New York, especially the brave firemen, whose honorable deaths in action are today being cynically used by the American media networks as emotional clubs. For as long as members of the Zionist-controlled media can sustain this emotional barrage about these selfless heroes, whose bravery no mere journalist or editor can ever hope to equal, ordinary Americans will continue to be deflected away from the reality that 9/11 was not a declaration of war on the United States of America.

Unfortunately, the longer the truth is held back from the American people, the more critical international friends and enemies will become of Americans in general. There is a growing perception overseas that “Americans can dish it out, but they sure can’t take it.” In other words, Americans are in real danger of being branded as a nation of isolationists, most of who appear to consider themselves morally and racially superior, but who have nervous breakdowns and burst into tears if someone so much as lobs a single hand grenade at an American city.

As will be mentioned again later, this perception provides welcome ammunition for millions of civilians overseas, especially in Britain, France, Germany and Japan; civilians who frequently spent weeks or months with their families and homes under direct aerial bombardment. In most cases the national psyche allowed these civilians to face the continual terror and their tragic losses with an impressive stoicism. If Americans cannot break away from the current media frenzy of whining and self pity, and find a little stoicism of their own, they stand to lose lots of brownie points overseas...

Iraq will not be like Germany was in World War II. Back then it was all highly regulated with liaison on both sides. Red Cross food parcels for the POWs, regular letters to and from properly identified prisoners, and escaped British and American prisoners crossing over into France under cover of night, before being shipped back to England by the French Resistance.

Forget that right now. Anyone fleeing across the border from Iraq will not find themselves in the hands of a friendly resistance organization dedicated to Zionist democracy, but in the hands of the Syrians or Iranians, all of whom know about American torture techniques initiated on helpless unnamed prisoners at Camp X Ray in Cuba. Believe me, Mom and Dad are never going to see you again.

None of this matters to the Zionists of course, because they will not be fighting in the trenches with you, or flying the combat aircraft. As previously stated they will sacrifice the lot of you without a second thought, in order to save their own skins. Deep down you already know that to be true, don't you?.

The only difference between 1940 and today, lies in you knowing in advance that this war has absolutely nothing to do with defending America or defending democracy. Al-Qa'ida attack on UK 'inevitable'

Al-Qa'ida attacks on Britain are almost inevitable, the Home Secretary David Blunkett admitted last night.

Mr Blunkett told The Independent on Sunday that there were "worrying lapses" in airport security and that "a real threat" still remained to Britain.

His comments, just days before the first anniversary on Wednesday of the 11 September attacks on the US, will heighten fears of further terrorist strikes.

Mr Blunkett, in issuing a stark warning against complacency, said: "The UK and its interests overseas remain a target for al-Qa'ida terrorists who will almost certainly seek to carry out further terrorist attacks, drawing on the network which they have already established. A real threat remains to this country. That is the stark truth."

A spate of near misses in the past week will have done nothing to soothe nerves in the run-up to Wednesday.

Rix: 'Scum' will profit from Tube

The "scum of the earth" including shareholders, lawyers and accountants are set to profit from the public private partnership on the Tube, says union leader Mick Rix.

In an interview with BBC News Online, the left-wing boss of the train drivers' union Aslef said profits to the private sector come at the expense of "Londoners' misery".

Mr Rix also blasts organisations like the CBI for being "immature" in following what he says are their own self interests.

He said: "At times, to be quite honest, they're very immature, and they're very selfish and all they're interested in is themselves.

"They're not interested in the economy and they're not interested in the fabric of the nation...".

But it is his comments about the private sector's role in the future of the London Underground that will raise most eyebrows coming as they do on the eve of the TUC annual congress in Blackpool.

How nice to find a story like this on a Sunday morning, it's gone a small way to restoring my faith!

Sources within the White House inner circle say George W. Bush is "out of control." An unprovoked attack against Iraq is imminent, because Bush believes he's on a mission from God to rid the world of Saddam Hussein, whether the world likes it or not.

No one likes Saddam Hussein. His own family members defected, and when he coaxed them to return, he had them executed. Saddam has mass murdered Kurds and others, and ruthlessly suppresses dissent in his own country. Saddam threatens and invades his neighbors when he sees an advantage. The Bush administration hopes to focus attention on these facts, while distracting us from all other considerations. Alone -- without support from our allies, his father's advisors, the general public, his own generals or even his own party -- Bush is headed for a high-noon showdown with Saddam.

Saddam is an evil man. No one denies this. Iraq's attempts to gain nuclear weapons represent a potential threat to the region. But this has been the case for eleven years, as even Bush admits. Iraq is weaker now than in 1991, and the Gulf War coalition dissolved long ago. Even Republican experts join our allies and the American people opposing Bush's aim to "go it alone" against Iraq. So why attack now?

Global "Bush Crash" Resumes

GLOBAL "BUSH CRASH" RESUMES. The Dow, European, and Asian stock markets resumed their "Hoover II" slide Sept. 3-5, led by the crashing New York markets, as Bush's threat to go to war and a flood of even the government's doctored data showed that U.S. consumers have stopped shopping, unemployment is rising, and the U.S. "recovery" is dead.

The Dow is down 10% from its mid-August high as analysts said the market is set to collapse below its July lows near 8,000. IT stocks, airlines, banks, and retail stocks plummeted. Citigroup. Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, and other Wall St. houses fell by 2%-4% as Congress widened inquiries into their role in corporate corruption.

On Friday, the Labor Department releases August employment and even these doctored figures are expected to rise, causing more sell-offs.

Bush's threat Wednesday in meetings with Congress to go to war with Iraq is having a negative effect on U.S. markets, rather than propping up the dollar as in prior Mideast wars.

"People are realizing that a further rise in oil prices will worsen the U.S.'s enormous trade and budget deficits, and further deter capital flowing into the United States,"
said one Japanese observer, "and some are calling this the `Bush Crash'." The dollar is at 5-week lows versus the euro and the yen. European and Asian markets reacted to the Dow crash by crashing too.

Standing Up for Dissent

Every year Greensboro, North Carolina, holds a Fourth of July parade in which local organizations form the units. This year members of the Greensboro Peace Coalition decided--"after some hesitation," admits chairman Ed Whitfield--to join the line of march. They bought an ad in the local paper, printed leaflets and developed their own variation on this year's theme of "American Heroes": large posters of Americans, including Mark Twain, Albert Einstein and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., who have spoken out against the folly of war.

Though members had been participating in vigils since last October, when the bombing of Afghanistan began, many expressed qualms about marching into the thick of their hometown's annual patriotic celebration. But fifty activists showed up on the Fourth and got the surprise of their political lives. Along the mile-and-a-half parade route through downtown Greensboro, they were greeted mostly with applause, and, at the end of their march, they were honored by parade organizers for "Best Interpretation of the Theme."

Says Whitfield, "There is a real lesson in this. If you scratch the surface of the poll numbers about Bush and Ashcroft's overwhelming support, you get down to a lot of people with a lot of questions. Some of them are afraid that they are alone in what they are thinking. What it takes to get them excited and to get them involved is for them to see someone standing up so that they will know they are not alone."

Can I just add my voice to that chorus, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We are being manipulated on a scale that is so vast that most of us dimiss the very idea as conspiracy. You can call me a nut or a crackpot or a lunatic or even a maniac but I'm none of those things, I'm just an ordinary, curious, person who's interested in the world around me and the welfare of other people on the planet. All you have to do is spend a little time connected to the Internet, do the research for yourself and you'll find the same things I did. The Internet contains all the pieces of the puzzel, put them together and the picture that you get is so far removed from what you're being told, it'll shock you! There's a lot of stuff on this site but there's even more out there in Cyberspace.

Just remember that not matter what anyone in authority says, you can't have democracy without dissent, they go hand in hand like Romeo and Juliet; remove one and the other becomes lost and meaningless, and will eventually self-destruct. If we don't start speaking up in louder voices then our society and everything we hold dear will also self-destruct.

Bomb the lot of them

I love this time of year - the climactic anomalies of summer drift imperceptibly into the climactic anomalies of autumn; the kids go back to school; the really important people return from their holidays and, well, it just puts you in the mood to bomb the shit out of somebody. But then, I'm not a really important person and am, therefore, a touch uncertain when it comes to picking which civilian population centres deserve to be turned into hamburger and grit. I mean, I'm not even clear why it's a good idea to bomb Saddam Hussein's civilians when it was a bad idea to bomb Pinochet's and Suharto's.

If being an evil madman, torturing and killing your own citizens and foreign nationals, and purchasing western hardware to do so are any kind of qualification, then we could have pounded innocent bystanders in Chile and Indonesia into dust ages ago. Pinochet liked to drop people into the ocean (dead and alive); Suharto preferred mass shootings and the odd alfresco castration; Saddam has a penchant for bombings. Which I can see might be a problem: Saddam and the Forces of Light have the same tactical speciality - how embarrassing, like turning up at a party in the same frock as your hostess. Saddam should have picked something more ethnic (snake pits, camel grenades), but we could find a compromise: the west uses high explosive, Iraq goes for anthrax, that would be fair.

People do worry about our Bombing Fairness Ratings; it's second only to poor TV coverage of missile attacks among factors likely to disturb the electorate. Perhaps if the voter could feel more involved. For instance, how hard would it be to add a top 10 of the nation's favourite targets to each televised national lotto draw? We'd be much more firmly behind George and Tony if they could make bombing fun.

For example, we could bomb people who talk in the cinema during films. It's a trivial transgression, but does indicate sociopathic tendencies - we have no real idea what these people might eventually do. Selecting five or six Exemplary Cinemas and bombing everyone inside would leave the rest of us with a sense of completion. You might argue that this kills non-talkers as well, but they have made a decision not to intervene and kill the talkers, so, frankly, they only have themselves to blame.

The simplest legislation could fill sports arenas and large car parks with people who look at you oddly or have offensive lifestyles, are bad whistlers or queue jumpers, use poor grammar or dress badly - just whoever prevents you from having a nice day. Of course, you could be on someone else's list, but that's half the thrill, isn't it? Will they obliterate you and your family before you can puree them?

There are more serious targets, naturally. If you do have a grudge against people inflicting death and misery on others, then the corporations and "green" oil companies could keep your rocket launchers warm for months - with special attention for Big Tobacco and those asbestos companies dragging their feet over compensation. Or you might want to blast the calcium out of all the property developers sitting on low-value green belt farmland, waiting until they've handed out enough brown envelopes to buy its reclassification as essential lebensraum for yuppie box maisonettes. Remember, you have the right to defend your country and your children's inheritance - apart from anything else, it always feels nice when you've finished.

Not that children aren't actually a little problematic - observers can get very sentimental when one or two children die, and 20 or 30 dead sons and daughters can upset them even more. But there is a solution: annihilate a few thousand kids and the impact of your actions mysteriously lessens - too much horror numbs the mind. This means your wisest course of action is to bomb all the children of all the groups you don't like, just to get those numbers up. Naturally, you'll also have to bomb their mothers, aunts and sisters, who will otherwise end up wailing, or demonstrating with annoyingly quiet dignity outside your embassy.

This kind of misogynistic carpet bombing will, unfortunately, piss off the affected husbands, uncles, brothers and so on - and the last thing you want is a mass of aggrieved blokes planning unimaginable revenge against your prudent security measures. So you'll have to bomb them, too, if you really want to defend your freedom-loving way of life and your own husbands, kids and whatnot. In fact, to be safe, you should blast every individual you dislike, their communities, their records, their journalists and any supporters they may have. It's tough and costly, but if it wasn't the only way, George and Tony and all those really important people would have told us, right?

War Begins & Nobody Notices!

Normally, the title for this column could be a headline for The Onion, that hilarious, irreverent New York publication that twists things around in order to hint at some absurd reality. The Onion presents fake news and commentary, poking fun at politics, culture, or whatever. Nothing is off-limits and they do a great job, so normally my title could serve as one of their satirical jumping off points. After all, how could the U.S. deploy hundreds of thousands of troops overseas and begin operations in Northern Iraq without around the clock coverage on CNN? How absurd!

Well, no actually. Of what do I speak? For starters we must go offshore, or more accurately, online, to a piece entitled, "Iraq: In all but name, the war's on," by Marc Erikson in the Asia Times, published August 17. He notes that back in January, when Bush began talking about "regime change" in Iraq, he signed an intelligence order directing the CIA to topple Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. (As a footnote, this violates U.S. law, but as expected there was very little ballyhoo about that.) At the time there were approximately 50,000 U.S. and British troops surrounding Iraq.

According to Erikson and numerous overseas reports, that number has quietly grown to well over 100,000 U.S. troops in and around Iraq. This does not include soldiers, sailors and airmen within the expanded theater of operations. There have been two main acceleration points: March and June. A new airfield is operational in Qatar and thousands of U.S. troops are working with local forces in Iraqi Kurdistan, mapping out targets, and covertly planning what will be the long awaited major escalation of a campaign already under way. There's more, much more. On August 9, the Turkish daily, Hurriyet, reported that 5,000 Turkish troops entered northern Iraq and took over a key airbase, north of Mosul...

The absurdity of the situation reminds us that a little levity is good for the soul, even during dire times. Thankfully, The Onion continues to pull no punches in its social satire post 9/11 despite the fact that these are not normal times, and quite clearly, this is a not a normal administration in Washington. And yet there is nothing funny about deceiving a population into fighting a war they would not support if only a few simple facts were laid bare or if relevant developments were actually being noted by the media this side of the pond. At the risk of losing one's sense of humor during dire times, we must face the fact that reality has truly eclipsed satire.

It may be the first step towards resisting all this madness.

Secret political vetting at the BBC

Don't know about this one, I tend towards trusting their correspondants (not necessarily Auntie herself though). But in the interests of Free Information I thought I'd share it with you because you probably won't ever see this story in the mainstream news.

If ever there was an example of ‘security' factors being used as a pretext for political vetting, it is at the BBC. When their security procedures were revealed in 1985, the corporation said that vetting was restricted to a relatively small number of people who had access to ‘sensitive information’. But in reality a large number of BBC employees – ranging from Graduate Trainees and journalists to arts producers and drama directors – were vetted by MI5 via the Personnel Department.

Perhaps the most graphic illustration of this was the attempt to blacklist Roland Joffe, probably Britain’s most distinguished film and television director. His track record includes The Killing Fields, for which Joffe received an Academy Award nomination, and The Mission which won the top prize at the 1986 Cannes Film Festival.

New Seismic Data Refutes Official WTC Explanation

More evidence that WE ARE BEING LIED TO!

Two unexplained "spikes" in the seismic record from Sept. 11 indicate huge bursts of energy shook the ground beneath the World Trade Center's twin towers immediately prior to the collapse.

American Free Press has learned of pools of "molten steel" found at the base of the collapsed twin towers weeks after the collapse. Although the energy source for these incredibly hot areas has yet to be explained, New York seismometers recorded huge bursts of energy, which caused unexplained seismic "spikes" at the beginning of each collapse.

These spikes suggest that massive underground explosions may have literally knocked the towers off their foundations, causing them to collapse.

In the basements of the collapsed towers, where the 47 central support columns connected with the bedrock, hot spots of "literally molten steel" were discovered more than a month after the collapse. Such persistent and intense residual heat, 70 feet below the surface, in an oxygen starved environment, could explain how these crucial structural supports failed...

Seismographs at Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in Palisades, N.Y., 21 miles north of the WTC, recorded strange seismic activity on Sept. 11 that has still not been explained.

While the aircraft crashes caused minimal earth shaking, significant earthquakes with unusual spikes occurred at the beginning of each collapse.

The Palisades seismic data recorded a 2.1 magnitude earthquake during the 10-second collapse of the South Tower at 9:59:04 and a 2.3 quake during the 8-second collapse of the North Tower at 10:28:31.

However, the Palisades seismic record shows that-as the collapses began-a huge seismic "spike" marked the moment the greatest energy went into the ground. The strongest jolts were all registered at the beginning of the collapses, well before the falling debris struck the Earth.

These unexplained "spikes" in the seismic data lend credence to the theory that massive explosions at the base of the towers caused the collapses.

JFK vs. The Federal Reserve

This story appeared on codshit.com yesterday, it's a very good piece of work and helps you understand issues regarding the JFK assasination that haven't really been covered by the likes of Oliver Stone. It opens up a new can of worms which make more sense than both the Lone Gunman story and the Mafia story.

On June 4, 1963, a virtually unknown Presidential decree, Executive Order 11110, was signed with the authority to basically strip the Federal Reserve Bank of its power to loan money to the United States Federal Government at interest. With the stroke of a pen, President Kennedy declared that the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank would soon be out of business.

The Christian Law Fellowship has exhaustively researched this matter through the Federal Register and Library of Congress. We can now safely conclude that this Executive Order has never been repealed, amended, or superceded by any subsequent Executive Order. In simple terms, it is still valid.

When President John Fitzgerald Kennedy - the author of Profiles in Courage - signed this Order, it returned to the federal government, specifically the Treasury Department, the Constitutional power to create and issue currency - money - without going through the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank. President Kennedy's Executive Order 11110 [the full text is displayed further below] gave the Treasury Department the explicit authority: "to issue silver certificates against any silver bullion, silver, or standard silver dollars in the Treasury." This means that for every ounce of silver in the U.S. Treasury's vault, the government could introduce new money into circulation based on the silver bullion physically held there. As a result, more than $4 billion in United States Notes were brought into circulation in $2 and $5 denominations. $10 and $20 United States Notes were never circulated but were being printed by the Treasury Department when Kennedy was assassinated. It appears obvious that President Kennedy knew the Federal Reserve Notes being used as the purported legal currency were contrary to the Constitution of the United States of America.

United States Notes" were issued as an interest-free and debt-free currency backed by silver reserves in the U.S. Treasury. We compared a "Federal Reserve Note" issued from the private central bank of the United States (the Federal Reserve Bank a/k/a Federal Reserve System), with a "United States Note" from the U.S. Treasury issued by President Kennedy's Executive Order. They almost look alike, except one says "Federal Reserve Note" on the top while the other says "United States Note". Also, the Federal Reserve Note has a green seal and serial number while the United States Note has a red seal and serial number.

President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 and the United States Notes he had issued were immediately taken out of circulation. Federal Reserve Notes continued to serve as the legal currency of the nation. According to the United States Secret Service, 99% of all U.S. paper "currency" circulating in 1999 are Federal Reserve Notes.

UK accused of human rights abuse

The British Government has been accused of contravening human rights with the anti-terrorist laws established in the aftermath of the 11 September attacks.

Amnesty International said the Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act, passed in November 2001, breached fundamental human rights.

In a report published on Thursday, the charity attacks the power given to the home secretary to detain foreign nationals indefinitely, without charge or trial, if they are deemed to be a risk to national security.

EARLIER NEWS: Britain 'leads way' in eroding privacy

Individual privacy is being eroded in Britain to a far greater extent than in other developed countries, according to an international study of state surveillance in the year since September 11.

Many states have rushed through restrictive anti-terrorism and security laws in response to last year’s terrorist attacks, but the Blair Government is singled out for an anti-privacy “pathology” that the report claims is leading to mass surveillance of the population.

In the 400-page report, to be published tomorrow, Privacy International, a London-based campaign group, and the US Electronic Privacy Information Center, give warning of a significant loss of personal freedom. The Privacy and Human Rights survey notes that in many of the 53 countries studied, communications surveillance has grown, intrusive “personal profiling” of individuals has increased, and data protection laws have been watered down.

“In the rush to strengthen national security and to reduce the risk of future terrorist acts, governments around the world turned to legal authority and new technology to extend control over individuals,” the report states. “Many of these proposals have had far-reaching consequences for the protection of privacy.”

I keep listening to the words coming from the Bush administration about Iraq and I become increasingly alarmed. There seems to be such confusion, but through it all a grim determination that they are, at some point, going to launch a military attack. The response of the British government seems equally confused, but I just hope that the determination to ultimately attack Iraq does not form the bedrock of their policy. It is hard now to see how George Bush can withdraw his bellicose words and also save face, but I hope that that is possible. Otherwise I fear greatly for the Middle East, but also for the rest of the world.

What is most chilling is that the hawks in the Bush administration must know the risks involved. They must be aware of the anti-American feeling throughout the Middle East. They must be aware of the fear in Egypt and Saudi Arabia that a war against Iraq could unleash revolutions, disposing of pro-western governments, and replacing them with populist anti-American Islamist fundamentalist regimes. We should all remember the Islamist revolution in Iran. The Shah was backed by the Americans, but he couldn't stand against the will of the people. And it is because I am sure that they fully understand the consequences of their actions, that I am most afraid. I am drawn to the conclusion that they must want to create such mayhem.

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, reported today that Vice President Cheney refused to produce documents pursuant to a federal court order in the ongoing Judicial Watch lawsuit concerning his Energy Task Force. Discovery responses were due from the Vice President yesterday per a court order, yet the Vice President, through Justice Department lawyers, filed a last minute motion for protective order seeking exemption from discovery on “constitutional grounds.” The Honorable Emmet G. Sullivan dismissed these very same arguments last month and ruled that discovery can proceed into the identities of Task Force participants, how the Task Force operated, and the role of the Vice President in the Task Force.

...In a statement, Hatfill blamed the FBI's investigation for his firing.

"My life has been completely and utterly destroyed by [Attorney General] John Ashcroft and the FBI," Hatfill said. "I do not understand why they are doing this to me. My professional reputation is in tatters. All I have left are my savings and they will be exhausted soon because of my legal bills."

Documents from the inquiry show that one unauthorized person who was observed entering the lab building at night was Langford's predecessor, Lt. Col. Philip Zack, who at the time no longer worked at Fort Detrick. The alternative to conspiracy is coincidence theory. At some point, when enough "dots" line up, the thought that everything is just coincidence becomes the wildest theory of all.

To be honest, I don't know exactly what happened on 9/11. I have my theories and hunches, but its an extremely complicated plot, and there are a number of plausible explanations for part or all of the story's aspects. Also, I don't want to force my ideas down your throat. I'm using the timeline to draw attention to interesting stories that you may not have read. I have tried to let the stories speak for themselves, and reduce my voice as much as possible. When I do add my own comments, I put those at the end of a summary in question form and in italics. I hope you come to your own conclusions.

The Biggest Sting of All

Readers familiar with the motion picture ‘The Sting’ may recall that the cornerstone of the successful ‘Sting’ (fraud) was that the victim had to be unaware at the end of it all that they had been defrauded. Even if told, they would refuse to believe they had been dudded.

In the case of the movie, the philosophy of the leading characters was that a fool and his money are easily parted. The people they were defrauding had money to lose in the first place. Such is not the case of the greatest fraud of all time presently taking place in the global economy, and the ‘fools’ being parted from their money are the simple, basically decent, trusting, ordinary people of the world, who are obliged to work for a living.

The Sting goes something like this. Over a trillion dollars zooms around the world each day in the global markets, buying and selling currencies, corporate shares and government bonds, ‘futures’ (options to buy things which might come into being in the future), and ‘derivatives’, instruments based on some underlying financial asset, however remotely. Some of the money (not much) actually gets to be invested in productive enterprise, but most of it is used by speculators playing a huge global gambling game. The media, now staffed by capitalist groupies paid to glorify these people, fawn over the speculators and call them ‘players’. Life is but a game, tra-la. Greed is good.

The sting is made possible because most of the ‘money’ the ‘players’ gamble with doesn’t actually exist. It’s pretend money, credit money extended to them by various banks, and ultimately the international bankers. The banks are able to do this....invent imaginary money out of thin air and charge interest on it....because of the ‘fractional reserve banking system’ whereby if a bank has around $6 of depositors funds in its vault it is allowed by law to create $100 of imaginary money and lend it out at interest. Banks do not, as Prime Minister Howard apparently thinks (or says he does), lend depositors funds. They don’t lend money at all. They extend credit, which is new ‘money’ created as interest bearing debt, a practice called ‘usury’ and banned by the Church during the Middle Ages, but allowed back in by Henry VIII.

So it's our "duty" to support the USA, I don't think so Tony! You WILL NOT get my support for this insane, genocidal, barbaric, imperial war of conquest. Helicopters (made in U.S.A.) flying over despairing, barren, enclosed camps where Palestinian people are herded and made to exist (not live) in the most abject of disease, squalor and fear, had a family blown to smithereens and children playing in the dusty street. Bombs that erupt in mid-air throwing out metal nail missiles. No last frantic rush to fill picnic hampers here,or load the car up for that last fun-filled day at the beach or backyard family get together with the Aunts, Uncles, and cousins regaling one another with the past year's successes in business or new land/oil/gas deals, cooking up steaks, and slides of the last trip abroad. No, these people cannot leave their homes for weeks on end let alone think of relocating their families to sanity.

A callous, demented, reference to massive bombing of Iraqi people and then march in and slaughter them from street to street!! Of course Haig and his ilk in their seventies and eighties won't be marching their sorry asses anywhere. The usual voyeurs to life's mayhem, suffering, famine, maiming and vaporizing of the multitudes (human resources-simpletons-herd-masses), they're just there to rake in the loot from the oil/gas/minerals/water/lands and forests. British parents want microchip to track their kids

LONDON -- A British scientist said on Monday he had been inundated with requests by panicked parents to implant a tracking microchip into their children after the recent murders of two 10-year-olds in a quiet English town.

Cybernetics expert Kevin Warwick from Reading University near London believes he can allay parents fears with a tiny microchip that may prevent an abduction from becoming a murder.

The controversial robotics scientist gained fame in Britain after he wired his own nervous system to a computer in an experiment he hopes will eventually give paralysed people more control over their own bodies.

"A number of families have contacted me after the murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman with the possibility of using an implant for their own daughter,'' Warwick told Reuters in a telephone interview.

Europe-US terror treaty plan raises rights fears

European Union governments are secretly drawing up a treaty with the US on issues ranging from extradition to undercover police operations in a move which has huge implications for individual rights and liberties.

Shortly after the September 11 attacks on the US last year, the EU suggested negotiating an agreement with Washington on joint measures to combat terrorism.

The US replied that the agreement should go far beyond the fight against terrorism and cover what it called general "criminal matters".

Documents leaked to Statewatch, an independent group monitoring threats to civil liberties in the EU, show that the planned treaty will include joint police operations, intercepting communications and the search and seizure of bank accounts.

They also reveal that the US wants to make it much easier for European governments to extradite EU and non-EU citizens by making it harder for individuals to plead political immunity and by adopting fast-track judicial procedures.

EU governments have said they are prepared to adopt what they call a "modern approach" to the issue, the documents show. The implication is that they are willing to abandon existing obstacles to extradition.

Camp America

There over 600 prison camps in the United States, all fully operational and ready to receive prisoners. They are all staffed and even surrounded by full-time guards, but they are all empty. These camps are to be operated by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) should Martial Law need to be implemented in the United States.

The Rex 84 Program was established on the reasoning that if a mass exodus of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA. Rex 84 allowed many military bases to be closed down and to be turned into prisons.

Operation Cable Splicer and Garden Plot are the two sub programs which will be implemented once the Rex 84 program is initiated for its proper purpose. Garden Plot is the program to control the population. Cable Splicer is the program for an orderly takeover of the state and local governments by the federal government. FEMA is the executive arm of the coming police state and thus will head up all operations. The Presidential Executive Orders already listed on the Federal Register also are part of the legal framework for this operation.

The camps all have railroad facilities as well as roads leading to and from the detention facilities. Many also have an airport nearby. The majority of the camps can house a population of 20,000 prisoners. Currently, the largest of these facilities is just outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. The Alaskan facility is a massive mental health facility and can hold approximately 2 million people.

CEO Greed, Worker Sacrifice Since last September

Labor Day came twice last year. A week after the parades and picnics, Americans had their real Labor Day on Sept. 11. Americans poured out thanks to firefighters, police officers, paramedics and other workers who put themselves on the line to save others. Wall Street stockbrokers and secretaries, CEOs and minimum wage workers died--and survived--together.

The spirit of shared sacrifice was shattered in October as a parade of companies led by Enron began imploding from CEO greed.

Some of America's worst CEOs make more in a year than the best CEOs of earlier generations made in their lifetimes.

CEOs pumped up stock with accounting steroids, hitting quarterly earnings homeruns while doing serious damage to their companies, workers, shareholders and the economy.

Global Crossing Chairman Gary Winnick, who Fortune called "the emperor of greed," cashed in $735 million in stock over four years while leading the company to bankruptcy. The double crossing Winnick bought a California estate worth $94 million after $30 million in renovations. Meanwhile, reports NBC, "Global Crossing workers lost their jobs, their severance pay, and promised medical benefits. Entire 401(k)s were decimated. With the exception of a select group of executives, Global Crossing employees could not unload their stock for five years."

Back in 1950, when Business Week began ranking CEO pay, the highest-paid executive was General Motors President Charles Wilson, who made $4.4 million in inflation-adjusted dollars. In 2001, the highest paid CEO was Oracle's Lawrence Ellison at $706 million--nearly $2 million a day.

CEOs made about 565 times as much as security guards, 445 times as much as emergency medical technicians and paramedics, 442 times as much as secretaries, 312 times as much as firefighters and 271 times as much as police officers.

Back in 1960, CEOs made an average 38 times more than schoolteachers, according to Business Week. By 1990, CEOs made 63 times as much. In 2001, CEOs made 264 times as much as public school teachers.

On High Street, in the middle of the Yale University campus, stands a cold-looking, nearly windowless Greco-Egyptian building with padlocked iron doors. Bush runs out of credit

America floats on an ocean of credit. After a couple of months' good behaviour, you get overwhelmed by junk mail and calls from organisations desperate to lend you money. It is common for families to run themselves up to the maximum on a stack of different cards. It is easy to assume it will last for ever. Then comes the reckoning.

Now the government has been seduced in just the same way. A year ago, sympathy for the United States was close to unanimous across the planet. The murderous attacks raised the country's moral credit rating sky-high. But it was not limitless. And the Bush administration dissipated it all on a spending spree of ideological indulgences and hubris.

Leave aside the question of whether its Iraq policy - whatever it actually is this morning - might possibly be right. What is indisputable is that the US government has wrecked, possibly beyond repair, its hopes of persuading any other country to that effect by simple, arrogant incompetence. It is terrifying to watch. It could be the next bestseller: How to Lose Friends and Influence No One, by George W Bush.

Much of the process has been public and obvious: over issues such as the environment and the Middle East. We have also had the humiliation of Russia over nukes and the volte-face over steel tariffs, when years of free trade principles were tossed aside for a few steelworkers' votes in the Midwest. Nevertheless, some of us must make the meager attempt, and thus lay the foundation upon which the truth might one day rise again.

There are those among us who do have the courage and intellectual capacity to break free of the shackles of lemminghood and accept the truth when it is presented in a clear and logical sequence. To those open minded and independent thinkers I wish to state clearly and unequivocally. I intend to set forth in this paper an overwhelming body of evidence which should forever destroy the notion that a Saudi Arabian caveman and his band of half-trained, nerdy Arab flight school attendees, orchestrated the most sophisticated terror operation in world history. The idea is utterly laughable. And yet, due to the blithering barrage of bullshit dished out by the government/media complex, "patriotic" Americans have accepted this ridiculous fairy tale with a religious conviction. What was the tone of U.S. and world opinion just a week or two before the attacks?

In the U.S., the economy was lagging badly, the stock market was falling, many were questioning if the government's taxes were legal, the Gary Condit case had been poorly handled, people continued to question Waco and the Oklahoma City bombing, they questioned our support of Israel in her policies regarding the Palestinians, and the approval rate of President Bush was low.

What about World Opinion? Just 8 days before the WTC/Pentagon attacks, Israel was stunned by a UN decision equating Zionism with Racism, according to Ha'aretz Daily.com.

Israel was branded a "racist apartheid" state by thousands of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) attending a U.N. World Conference Against Racism in Durban, South Africa. The conference was attended by representatives of 153 governments.

The declaration, adopted by 3,000 NGOs in 44 regional and interest-based caucuses, shocked Jewish groups.

Foreign Minister Shimon Peres called the anti-Israel declarations a disgrace, and said that Israel was "seriously" contemplating withdrawing from the conference in protest. The Israeli delegation to the conference blasted the language of the NGO declaration as an incitement to hatred of Jews.

Jewish delegates walked out. The U.S. delegates followed.

The Forum accused the Jewish state of "systematic perpetration of racist crimes including war crimes, acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing" in its treatment of the Palestinians.

In addition, the head of the Danish Red Cross, Freddy Karup Pederson, told the Danish Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee that the lifestyle of Jewish settlers in the Palestinian territories resembles that of whites under the former racist apartheid system. He also criticized Israel's collective punishment of the Palestinian population.

There is NO doubt that Israel is a racist state. Its own human-rights advocates call it that. The laws of the state of Israel allow a Jew anywhere in the world to become a citizen of Israel, but a Palestinian driven out of his own country, deprived of his home and all his possessions in 1948, cannot return. There are certain neighborhoods in Israel where a Palestinian cannot be issued a building permit, nor have the opportunity to buy or rent a home.

Wouldn't the ACLU scream racism if those laws were applied to the Jews - or to the Blacks - in the USA.

When, long ago, Woodward and Bernstein found Deep Throat, they also found double trouble. A single source, according to the Washington Post house rules, wasn't enough. You had to have two separate ones to write the story that destroyed Richard Nixon. But that was politics, not war. And we live in more self-interested times.
This morning, there's Kerim Chatty, a Swede who was going to crash a plane into a US embassy, according to Swedish military intelligence sources. Or wasn't, according to Swedish police sources. Who had four accomplices, or worked alone (same sources). To this confusion, CIA, FBI and Scotland Yard sources added their bemused little codicils.

New questions for old. Where is Osama bin Laden? The Financial Times, in a report from Islamabad, has "Pakistan security officials" conducting the last rites: "Osama, who was not too well when last year's attacks happened, could not have survived the attacks on Tora Bora," according to "an unidentified senior Pakistani".

Excellent. He's toast, as American generals tend to put it when they talk to the New York Post. Unless, of course, he's in Pakistan (the Afghan security verdict as peddled by Kabul's foreign ministry). Is there "convincing proof" one way or the other? Nope: there is no such proof, according to General Tommy Franks, duly advised by the CIA and army intelligence. Bin Laden could be anywhere or nowhere. But luckily "we don't have to find him, because we are going to shut down his terrorist apparatus", according to the chaps who brief General Dan McNeill. Al-Qaida "is toast" says the NY Post.

FACT 1: The ship stopped at Hamburg with weapons bound for Iran was owned by the Zim shipping company.

FACT 2: The Zim Shipping Company broke its lease to move out of the World Trade Center before the attacks. Like Odigo, Zim apparently received an early warning. Indeed there seems to have been an epidemic of broken leases in the weeks leading up to 9-11.

The suggestion that the government of Israel had no knowledge of the weapons about the cargo ship stopped on the war to Iran is ludicrous.
