Rendlesham 'X-Files' Released

When is an X-File not an X-File? When it's a bona fides government document! Seriously though, has anyone considered that the X-Files might be an attempt to desensitise the population to the notion of large-scale government conspiracies? Maybe that's why Chris Carter always has that smug grin on his face!?!

Details of an alleged UFO sighting near a Suffolk RAF base more than 20 years ago have been released under the Freedom of Information Act.

The Rendlesham File is one of the first documents to be released as part of an opening-up of the inner workings of Whitehall.

It had previously only been seen by about 20 people, who requested access to it through the American Freedom of Information Act.

The sighting of a 'strange triangular glowing object' near RAF Woodbridge in the early hours of December 27, 1980 is described in colourful detail.
